The white background is so much more tolerable on mobiles. Well, for short periods at least.

Also, when you get a notification that someone has liked your post, it would be nice if the link took you to the post itself instead of the start of the topic. Also, getting a notification when someone quotes you would be nice. :)

It does. Click on the right part of the notification.

EDIT: There are also settings to notify you when you're quoted. Check out the settings area.

I'd like to see black/dark backgrounds with with white or light grey text as a default. at least I find it easier on the eyes then white backgrounds blasting in my eyes.
Besides it conserves electricity (if you believe
www.blackle.com)

*note* the whole background, unlike above.

An ignore button next to the "friendship request" button for people you don't like.

I'm on the fence about the background.  When I first saw it I felt it was too bright and clinical but now I'm beginning to like how easy it is to read the text.  I find black with white or grey text less easy to read than black/grey on white or perhaps I'm just more used to it because of word.  The new style is growing on me.  I'm not sure I want it changed anymore at all.  I may be a convert.

Meredith, i really dislike this new forums site, it's exactly same setup like my own forums but different.

i only wished the editing signature would allowing other users to copy and paste from their own other signtures in original forum same goes for groups, but it won't work at all like that.

second issue is that of white background, it's really hurting my eyes a lot, even as i read or type, it hurts so much. i have to constantly look away for every few seconds so it will not hurt. you should enable theme system for users to use their own themes from games such as Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3. along with Dragon Age Origins, Dragon Age II.

and to also allow users to switch their forum background, it should have colored background to match with the backgrounds from the games as well.

I'd like to suggest that you could make a plan to add those in for the users to experiment with this idea on their own forum backgrounds/forum themes at least to see what are their reactions to that. i can say it's better choice than white background with black text.

I'm also forum designer, so i know what it's like for users to go through something like this which are actually very annoying to their own eyes much same as my own eyes. please take the time to consider this idea. thanks

Sincerely, Cassandra Saturn

The most consistent complaint I've seen around the new forums is that people can't see what their friends are posting. The updates feed we used to have for our friends is sorely missed. I heard a rumor that Bioware got rid of updates so that people wouldn't be offended  . This qualm is easily resolved if you at least restore the capability of seeing updates from your friends vs the entire forum/subforum, or even better, let us toggle it off.

To be clear we don't want to see just the updates our friends enter, but when they start a thread and reply to a thread and would like the capability of "liking" those actions too! Just like we were able to do on the BSN.

A lot of people including myself have been able to use add on extensions for Firefox or Chrome to work around the glaring white background but this also seems to be a high priority issue IMHO.

Thank you for taking the time to read this

I'm in the same spot. Spent too many years looking at halloween colors, apparently. It'd still be incredibly nice(and it's certainly in demand) to have alternate colors for the background.

We can still like a topic/post, but it's been re-purposed inside their actual post instead of a feed. At least from my perspective, it's more convenient to like it there instead of going back to the "What's New" feed. I will agree It'd be great to see post updates put back into the feed - or at least have that as a toggle-able option.

I would like the option to alter the colour scheme. Like with YouTube and users' channels, let us choose between a few options.

My suggestions:

White and light grey, with black text (this one)

Black and light grey, with white text

Dark blue and light blue, with orange text

Indigo and majenta, with pink text

Light green and dark green, with white text

Brown and gold, with orange text

Look, I know the whole reason for the colour scheme is to go with Dragon Age: Inquisition's site's colour scheme (and possibly some EA forum colour scheme), but it's just hard to look at right now.

We can edit our posts.

This sentence you're reading is being added in after the initial post. There's an edit button at the bottom right, to the left of a hide button, multi-quote button, and quote button.

I don't know if this have been said but a friend activity page would be good, i know this isn't supposed to be the new "social" forum BUT still, it's just a mess as it's now, you where much more aware of what your friends did before and it was easier to catch up or talk, whatever and what's the point with a friendslist if it's an inconvenience to be "social" anymore.

Perhaps i have gotten it all on my backfoot, i don't know anymore.

Weird... when I looked before, there was nothing on the left of the hide button... Thanks.

Another thing, the ability to quote quotes within quotes, like in the old forum (the old forum, not the old, old forum... I was never on that one).

If that was removed intentionally, I can make an educational guess why. To this day, I  have brief nightmares regarding the great quote pyramids of giza. I'd assume in most cases, the one quote is enough context to give a response to.

I don't know if this have been said but a friend activity page would be good

It's been covered a bit in the topic, and I'm also hoping for that to be implemented as well. I hardly click on the new feed anymore, as it's relatively barren in comparison to the earlier version.

We need a decent feed with friends' activity and the option to comment and like as it was on the BSN. And darker colours!

Even the option to get a notification for a friends post would be a decent stopgap. Preferably group and forum posts would have a separate notification option tab.

I want a feature where I can hide/ignore comments and replies on a thread or from certain users entirely.

And a little message that tags your post with who is ignoring you if they reply in the same thread as you to avoid confusion.
