I'd also like to see this mobile reskin nuked from orbit.


Let's review:

• No ability to comment on status updates.
• No ability to view said comments made by others
• No ability to view or access and groups
• No ability to navigate a forum post outside of just two pages at a time (there is no "first" and "last" post links within the thread, one must exit back to the topics page)
• The site defaults to the mobile reskin every time, regardless of how many times the "Full Version" option is chosen
• INABILITY TO USE THE QUOTE FEATURE ON THE FORUMS (I mean seriously... WTF?)


There are some wins, such as no more "pop-up" windows that are impossible to navigate when trying to do certain things like send a message. And the ability to have a text box that doesn't cut off your words when typing is nice - although this was previously only a problem when using the Quote function on the old BSN, which we don't have the ability to do anymore on the new site, so that's not really a huge win.

Long story short, people may have been seeing me less on here recently. And I think that's a trend that's going to continue, unfortunately, if using the site on my phone is going to continue to be such a hassle, instead of a convenience.

I simply mentioned nuking the mobile reskin, not the entirety of the forums.

Also, for the record, you can quote and edit posts on the mobile app, as someone messages me. One has to (against my own intuition) tap the post you want to quote/edit, then the options of both pop up under the post.

So my largest source of incredulity was unfounded. But the rest of my complaints remain.

I think the format of the mobile version is really good, It just needs some more functionality added to it. Also the signatures need fixed.

Okay, the new BSN Bioware Forum actually looks pretty good, from what little I've seen of it so far. When I'm back home tomorrow I'll add a personal avatar, that's going to be fun (and will feel kind of weird after all these years)!

Any word on that darker color scheme? And also throwing my support behind a general activity feed as opposed to just notifications.

I still think the BSN was waaaay better than what we have now, but I don't actively hate the new site anymore. I merely dislike it now.

I started with ambivalence and have moved to extreme dislike.  Haven't made it to 'merely dislike' yet, but at least I'm not at hatred. What do I want back? 

• How my friends could be sorted and managed. 
• The 'old look' with dark background and lighter text. 
• Projects/mods being easily available instead of being 'second class citizens' that if you click here and go there and....  You can get to the project pages
• ease of seeing what my friends have said

But I'm good with change so good that I have been successful in spending far less time on BSN and checking on what is going on with friends.

Pretty minor competitively, but a way to turn off the mobile version of the site, or at least remember my decision to go to the full version.

 

My tablet can run the full site just fine.

Thank you Bioware for adding "darker" backgrounds, those plain grey ones... but what our eyes really need is darker forum and comment section in different colors.

 

Like good old light grey font, dark grey comment section:

 

 

or other themes, preferably colorful ones.

The 3 backgrounds you guys are referencing is the addition of "no image background" options that we have added that is unrelated to the darker forum skin. That change is for users who have computers or internet speeds that are having lag issues with the background image, so they can remove the background image all together and have a solid color (we'll be adding more colors to choose from). 

 

The main site text area as well as what was formerly white at the bottom of the screen on the 6 default background images has been changed to a light shade of grey. 

 

We are still iterating and approving the darker alternate skin for roll out as soon as we can get it to you

Hi everyone, I'm new here, though I'm a very, very long time lurker of the old forums. I was hoping that there may be an introduction forum or thread, but I haven't found one. I guess I'd suggest one of those for a change to the forum for those of us who prefer to properly introduce ourselves so as not to feel awkward just popping in threads (like this).
