When you sign up on BSN you should have to take a test. That consists of seeing how well your spelling and over all common sense is. Pass the test, good. If you shall fail, then try again within 6 months. Study hard kids. Common sense isn't really common anymore now.

Oh and one more thing is @username tagging to help direct them to threads.

I noticed someone called BioModerator03 had closed a thread somewhere. Very sensible, IMO.

(PS. But I've often used PMs to contact people I'm not friends with - modders etc - and I think it's a shame you can't do that anymore.)

BSN could use a face lift. This system just seems bulky even on a 2 meg connection.

When the automatic email about someone commented on my profile or has left a message, could it be in MY language instead the language of in whoever that had commented. I'm tired of getting messages in German, Spanish, etc...

I'd like posts on the "Dragon Age: Origins & Awakening Official Campaign Quests and Storylines" forum to show up in my recent activity. Not sure why they don't, but it makes it less convenient to check on threads I've posted in.

Well, I have a couple of sugestions to BSN.

First of all, let me present my Bioware Player Profile:
- DAO + Awakening PS3
- ME 1 XBox 360
- ME 2 & 3 PS3
- SWTOR PC

1. The ability to search for friends on facebook.
- The problem with today's frinds list is that I don't know what friends do I have that are playing Bioware games. So, I have +800 friends on facebook, 15 friends on PS3 and 0 (Yeah, ZERO) friends on BSN.

2. Provide more game feedback
- I'm a ME fan. So, many questions that I have are answered nowhere excepct forum posts. Example:
--- What's the favourite companions
--- What's the most effective guns on each level
--- What's the high scores player ranking

3. Expand the ME3 profile to other games
- You guys did a nice thing with BSN for ME3, synchronizing the player achivements and unlocks so that any player can check you've got, what you still can get... You could apply this concept to other games (SWTOR for instance)

4. More support for Projects.
- The project idea is kind of nice, but useless. At least for me. I think you could make the BSN more usefull if you use this channel to provide additional tools for players (PC apps for example) that are not official products bundled on the game package.

THE FOLLOWING I THINK WOULD BE A GREAT SUGESTION

5. BSN actions impact on gameplay and Story.
- So, Bioware is famous by making great stories with great characters and a lot a open variables on game plot. I you guys wanna make the BSN more usefull, make it sure that it can impact the gameplay experience. (e.g. Ubisoft made an app for Facebook that enhanced the AC Brotherhood experience. The app was crapp, but the idea was kind of nice. You guys tried something similar with the ME3 datapad. The idea was good, but the result was not. Sorry)
- Why not include a simple game strategy game add-on (something like a simple social RTS where you could gather resources, build a fleet armada, research a new weapon or create your pet with impact on the core gameplay)

Well, that's all for now.

Best regards,
Flavio Matiello.

I'll echo something I've seen others say.

I'd prefer a simple date stamp, like Mo/Da/Year or something, rather than 1 day ago... 1 year ago... etc...

 1. Custom avatars.

2. Ability to change name.

3. Ability to preview posts.

4. Other forums I've been in have buttons in their reply forms for things like images and youtube videos. I would like to see something like that here.

You can do number one, you just have to be awesome enough.

Number two is possible if you know what you're doing. Plenty of people have changed their username. That said, you have to be awesome enough for that too.

I accede with number three however.

Also, multi-quote functionality so that I can respond to multiple people in one post easier.

Is it possible that you could somehow give us the ability to put our own avatars on out profile on the BSN, instead of using the Dragon Age: Origins character creator?

Also, can there be a mobile version of the BSN?

A change to the regulations that emphasizes banning, rather than closing threads.  I don't know how many times I've been having a great discussion with other members, then a mod closes the thread because a few trolls go off-topic, insult members, or otherwise break the rules.

Heck, the ME3 character/romance forum has been closed for 8 months.  I didn't think that was supposed to be permanent, but here we are.

This.

Also, new "can only PM friends" thing is not a very good idea.  Would like to see that rolled back, or at least made an optional privacy setting.

Make it 20% cooler.

Also it would be nice if custom profile pictures were more simple to implement.

Search needs help.
Mute users in the forums. An extension of the ignore feature would work.
Mute threads.
Better mobile performance. iPad is my primary interface with this forum. As an aside, would be curious as to the numbers you are seeing for mobile access.

-A spoiler tab to prevent people from just typing something like ***spoiler*** and right behind it spoilers. People sometimes over look that. If you implement a spoiler tab with the command
Spoiler
you have to click on it to see the spoiler. IGN forums do this and it's a very convenient feature. You can also label your spoilers with [spoiler=Game of Thrones spoilers] and it will show that in the tab "Game of Thrones spoilers" so the person knows to click it or not.

-Upvote/Downvote a post. Pretty much every modern forum does this now.

-Embed pics/media tab under post options. This should be standard on BSN forums. I should be able to post Youtube videos for everyone to see in the post. To make it even more convenient, put tabs under our post options so we can just click "embed media" and paste the link inside there to automatically post it. Most modern forums have this feature.

-Easier to make custom avatars on BSN's system

-A UI that shows alerts as someone likes/PMs/quotes me. Obviously you can set your preference what you want to notify you or not. IGN forums do this and I love it. When someone quotes me, wherever I'm at on the forums, it will show a red number notification in the upper part of my screen showing how many people are alerting me. If one person is quoting, it says 1. When I open the tab it shows exactly what thread/person is quoting me and I can click it to go to the exact post. You can also tag that person so an alert comes up. If someone mentions me in a post, it gives me a notification. So, if someone posts @deuce985 I will see it.

-When you click on a person's post under your friend BSN social activity log, take you directly to their post. I hate having to cycle through the thread to find the post. This applies to me too. When I go through my post history I want to be able to click the post and BSN take me straight to it. Sometimes it's cumbersome to try and sift through a thread that has 50 pages.

-A more friendly site for tablets/mobile. Seriously. I try to browse BSN sometimes on my iPad/iPhone and it can be extremely cumbersome at times. Maybe make a BSN app? That would be awesome.

-Search needs a complete overhaul

-Ignore users. I'm not sure if BSN currently has this as I've never had to ignore someone. But it would be nice to have this feature and when that person posts, it completely hides it from the user. Can't PM them or post on their wall, etc.

Search function is in serious need of help, spoiler tags, an actual ignore system that works within the forums, multi-quote functionality, mobile version of the website, being able to embed videos, so on.

Also, this:

Blogs. It ****s me that they don't even have page functionality. So if your blog is moved off the first pge (mainly by Sports Spambots), then you can't even get to them unless you use a round-about method.

I really disagree with the Upvote/Downvote thing. They always end up boiling a forum down into a popularity contest. Think of the Talimancer threads, ****** off someone in that and that group will hound you down and downvote all your postings untill you hit the "Negitive Karma" bull****. Its not worth it at all.

Downvoted.

But the other ideas are golden and considered standard features on most forums. Then again, functionality wise, BSN has always lagged a number of years behind what's considered "standard".

- A block system that actually works. It never applies to forums etc (unlike Facebook where, when you block someone, they literally stop existing) and I've even had people continue to message me after I've blocked them. Frustrating.

- Hand-in-hand with that, it would be useful if when you report someone for being as ass, the mods actually do something about said person instead of letting them carry on and on with their attacks. This has happened to me plenty and it spoils the experience.

- A modern website that functions on smartphones (or better still an App). This is impossible to use on my iPhone, so I can only imagine what it must be like for those on slightly crappier phones.

- The ability to change your profile pic. Pretty simple, really. It's rubbish having to ask someone with DA:O on a PC to upload things for me, after I've uploaded them to photobucket - providing them with my password etc - just so that I can have a different picture. Like any other website, you should be able to just upload a photo. Come on now.
