A year old. There are site rules that seem to apply only to fans and not moderators. Moderators can do whatever they want . There's no accountability . No appeals process if you believe a mod has treated you unfairly. You have no recourse.
If you complain you get banned again, just like I was for 48 hours.
shrugs. Unfair.....but I don't care anymore. Don't care.
One of the few business models I've ever seen where the fans, who are CUSTOMERS after all, who must buy the product aka games for the company to be sucessful, are treated like dirt, unwanted and sneered at and treated like pests. Terrible way to run a business and a forum.
If you are angry about not being able to access the DA3 forum, no worries. You aren't missing much. Other than oppurtunities to be banned.
As per mods treating people like dirt, I think you are exagurating just a tad bit. Yes, I've had my disagreements with how mods use their "power." They tend to be rather opinionated, often over subjects I find to be total nonsense, and occasionally have loopy rationalization of their actions.
That being said, I've seen worse. Much worse. No, they are not impartial, but no one is. No, the policies are not always "fair" in wording and enforcement, but it'd be a tad naive to expect them to be- especially when you are not the one footing the bill. Mods are not politicians that require your vote to retain power. They are appointees to exercise authority to one end or the other.
I could go into further depth into the effect of personality on moderation, but that subject tends to get me in trouble. That and I have to go to work.
I think you are just being a tad dramatic.
