And I loved it. First time around I could of cared less. stopped after 20min lol. Glad I gave it more of a shot this time. I just have one problem...

Was this hard coded to be on insanity or something? lol This is seriously infinitely more harder than even playing on hardcore. In each area, I was ALMOST ready to give up each time lol I don't mind a challenge, but come on lol(keep in mind I never play any game on the hardest difficulty)

I mean, I was REALLY close to start using cheats to get through it lol.

BUT the story was awesome.

Just lower the difficulty? I really don't understand what you're trying to say.... that you want the developers to make the game easier?

I think Revan's point was that the gameplay in the Citadel's story missions was harder than in the main game at the same difficulty setting. I'd agree with that statement. Every enemy possesses some form of protection before health (other than those whose health meter is replaced by armour), and drones and heavier weapons are prevalent. Certain builds that were entirely adequate in the main game can fail to measure up in the dlc: I played with a mid level sentinel with marksman, throw and cryo-blast as my only offensive powers and really struggled in the opening encounter. I died more times in that restaurant than I generally do in entire missions.

@Revan: I'm glad you enjoyed the dlc. I only recently picked up Citadel myself and have thus far only played through it with the aforementioned sentinel. To be honest, though I really liked wandering around Anderson's apartment listening to his recordings, I was actually pretty disappointed with the story missions. The difficulty spike proved a bit of a problem at first as I really wasn't built for power, but my main problem was the humour that they tried to introduce: although it elicited the occasional chuckle, far too often it just felt forced or laboured. I'll no doubt play through it again with other characters and ensure I spec my powers more suitably for the challenge so may well enjoy the gameplay more, but I'm not sure I'll change my opinion on how funny Wrex running around shouting about 'Uncle Urdnot' is. On a more positive note some of the set pieces looked fantastic, I really liked listening to Anderson's reminiscences and the final boss battle was a fun challenge.

I gotta agree with you here. I play on insanity, and I have always had to lower it down to normal/casual on the part before the car lot.

Citadel DLC is pure fan service. Extremely entertaining yes, but don't forget it incorporates most of the things fans were wanting. This includes difficulty of enemy forces. Many fans were finding insanity standard, and were asking for a better challenge.

This could explain why you're finding it difficult, it certainly explains armax arena!

At least that's my attempted rational.

Use the bonus power lash making the CAT6 enemies look like chumps.

That's it exactly. It's basically BioWare throwing us a curve-ball lol.

The problem was, at least for me, even after getting access to my equipment, it still seemed just as hard. Armor made no difference. I play as a vanguard and I like charging all over the battlefield. I guess you can't do that in CitDLC, at least not until you get rid of most of the enemies.

I get that, I do. But what about those of us who don't like overly-difficult games? (please don't suggest playing the game on easy lol I do appreciate a challenge.)A difficulty setting above insanity specifically for the DLC would of been better imo.

that area in the beginning, I think I may of died like 40 times, and that is not an exaggeration.

Hell, I can't play Dark Souls because of the difficulty. Wish I could, seems like a great game.

I'm not trying to complain, I'm really not. But that was just insane. No pun intended :P

I never really had issues with citadel's difficulty level, the only deaths I've had were related to glitches, and only like 5 deaths in total during the dlc, out of maybe 16 playthroughs. two of those were lag kills in the Normandy's flight-bay.

Try the Mirror Match at the Armax Arena once you unlock it. It's a nightmare!

that did actually give me trouble, mainly because the dodge button wasn't registering when I was pushing it.

Yeah, struggled with this first couple play-through(s).  It's a matter of figuring out how to defeat enemies.  I had the same issues in Omega with the Adjutants...thought they were frickin' impossible on Insanity 'til I figured out the right way to deal with them.  Now they're pretty easy.  It also matters what your class is...IMO Soldiers/Infiltrators are severely handicapped in both DLC's.

My best friend borrowed my 360 in the middle of last year so he could experience the Mass Effect games. Well, by the time Citadel rolled out few engagements could give me pause on Hardcore, my chosen level (and I'm not trying remotely to sound boisterous here, because people who typically play on Insanity could eat me alive; and people who do the multiplayer could eat them alive; poor little me could be eaten twice, you see) but I got a string of expletive texts from him concerning the approach to the Normandy near the end, then he had lots of trouble with the boss fight.

Now, I love my friend, but he is not always as good at the games he plays as he thinks he is, which is to say that since he considers himself merely decent but gets himself stuck on things pretty easily, I would posit he's a bit below-average at a lot of what he plays. Which is just as well -- he's a monster on bass guitar and as far as gaming is concerned you'll never see someone finish MGS4 faster in real life -- but I would say it factors into his tirades.

Even still, when he has trouble I document it. And he had a lot of trouble with the end of Citadel. So I think it's definitely harder than the rest of the campaign.

Kind of makes me wish a thousand enemies swarm Shepard at the missile defense segment of the final mission now, since that part is so absurdly easy by comparison.

Hmm, how so? Just curious as those are my main classes.

JeffZero: Weapon dependent classes.  Why take down one enemy at a time when you can take three with a tech/biotic detonation?  Obviously depends on difficultly level and companions you have by your side.  When I first played ME3 I did so as an Infiltrator on the easiest difficulty and you could line up 2 and 3 heads in your sights to accomplish the same, but on insanity with an enemy like a Marauder using the Widow a head shot only takes their shields down with minor health damage (not very realistic I know.)

Yep, you're right about MPs crushing me.  Well the platinum players anyway...probably most of the gold.  Played some of it myself, but gold is as far as I care to take it.  Constantly forgetting I can't pause to strategize and get out of trouble.  It's fun in its own way, but without story content it stales rather quickly for me.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the insight, it's been over a year since I've done an ME run so I forgot some of the ME3 gameplay nuances therein.

Ditto on MP. Although I only ever got particularly useful at Silver. Tried Gold a few times and I'm sure I would have eventually done well but I couldn't bother to continue without any sort of story or at least some new tunes or something.

The problem is that enemies can hit you even when you're in cover for some reason. And then they stunlock you just as bad as the Geth do in MP.

I finally managed to beat it with Samara and Liara and I was a Sentinel. Biotic Explosions all over the place :D

Just finished Citadel the other day, playing as a Vanguard on Hardcore, and Cat 6 pooped on me during the first mission. The fight in the sushi place was alright, as was the "stealth" sequence following, but the area right before the car dealership just gave it to me. The pistol you get is pretty baller, but I was constantly running out of ammo, shockwave and pull were useless because everyone has shields, and Garrus wasn't around to pat me on the back and whisper sweet nothings into my ear. The fight just devolved into guerilla style hit and run tactics:

Step 1: Biotic Charge

Step 2: Shoot stuff

Step 3: Run Away

Step 4: ???

Step 5: Die

Shepard was kicking and screaming the whole time, but they... they just didn't stop. They didn't stop.

Final boss fight was epic though, he would Biotic Charge + Nova, knock me down to a quarter of one bar of health, so I had to charge after he charged to counter his nova. The whole affair was glorious, glorious chaos, just constant charging.

playing a vanguard or an engineer in the clonebattle is quite fun. unless your lagging so badly your controls don't respond and the cloneshep engineer is spamming inferno at you. not fun. I swear the clone had 4 inferno drones in the air before the first one hit.

The CloneVanguard was hard, he used Charge-Nova-Biotic Punch every time. but it was kinda funny seeing my own tactics being used against me.

I really didnt like citadel dlc, yes it was funny but in the end it made me reload the game because it made my shepard cheat and it did feel that it didnt reconise my romance with Liara.

Hated the clone combat because it lasted too long.

I have played only once it, after that i just always skip that dlc.
