Who do you want to put up the nameplate when romancing Miranda or Jack?

Last month I romanced Miranda and when the memorial wall scene came up it was Samantha holding the nameplate. It didn't bother me though I would've preferred Miranda holding the nameplate. So it made me wonder what requirements are needed to of had Samantha holding the nameplate.

I decided it wasn't the squadmate who did the most missions with you(something Samantha isn't able to do), but the one you talk with the most on the ship.

So I tested this theory. I did two back-to-back playthroughs without romancing anyone. In the first playthrough I chose not to talk with anyone. I ended up talking with Traynor after Thessia, Horizon and Chronos. She was the one to put up Shepard's nameplate.

The second playthrough I talked with everyone, except I didn't talk to anyone on the Citadel since Traynor never got a scene on the Citadel. I only talked with Steve to keep him alive. It still ended up being Traynor. So I'm guessing the Citadel meet ups with squadmates makes a difference.

My question(s).

If you romance Miranda or Jack,  who would you like to hold/put up the nameplate? And if you do a playthrough without romancing anyone, who would you like to hold/put up the nameplate?

If Shepard had been romancing either Miranda or Jack, then it's Miranda or Jack(whoever Shepard had been romancing) I'd want to see put the name plate up.

I wouldn't want to see the nameplate being put up. I don't care about any of those people on the Normandy. Only Javik and James.

Javik. When he does so a single tear rolls down from his fourth eye, and he says 'In my cycle, we would find the nearest destroyer, and in honour of the dead the grieving would attempt to write their name on the Reapers dangly bits. Since all Reapers are dead, we now have to ride thresher maws. Whoever lasts longest is crowned the commander.'

A virtual sex act to whoever read Javiks bit in Javiks voice.

I would prefer my LI, Though in the last play through my LI was Jack ( as always except my current play through) and she died on the citadel. Don't know why, but I did not make the final good bye from earth. Might be why. So Kadain placed it on the wall though it should have been Garrus, My number one squad mate.

Legion.... Places the plaqe..... EDI? Did Shepard download into your servers?

EDI: No, but there seems to be something that's sneaking into our security surveilance systems and I can't stop it. It's definately got Shepards security codes aswell.

Gotta wonder... with Control, is Shepard attending his/her own memorial service through EDI's body? Did Shepard take control of her and the Geth at the same time? They're all built off of Reaper tech, which is targeted in Destroy...

There's nothing in the EC slides or speech to contradict it that I saw. EDI is standing at stiff attention, away from the rest of the group, in the Control ending; whereas in Destroy she's another name on the wall and in Synthesis, she goes in for a hug instead. We see this while Shepard's talking about "watching over" those who were left behind.

If the LI isn't avaiable, the protege should step up

That's Garrus.

Otherwise, Joker. Been with me since the start.

I don't think that's evidence she's being controlled. She's just being her mechanical self. She hasn't been infected with the green feels.

I don't think there's much evidence that the geth are being controlled either. Obviously there's contact. But nothing really suggest control.

It's not so much an "evidence for" as a "lack of evidence against" conclusion.

Some argue that the Geth survive Destroy on the basis of us not actually seeing them dead, though the slide of Rannoch as a dead wasteland seems evidence enough to knock that one out. EDI being controlled seems less flimsy to me, but you're right that there's no proof.

I always thought Destroy worked by targeting Synthetics/AI not just those with Reaper Tech (and Reaper software?)

Define "synthetics." If all VIs were lost, there would be no functioning spacecraft. If cybernetics were targeted, the entire Quarian species would keel over dead, along with every biotic in the galaxy as their implants were spontaneously stripped out of them.

We know the Reapers, the Geth, EDI, and the Relays were targeted. The only thing they have in common is Reaper tech as an integral component.

Well when the Catalyst used the word Synthetic I always got the impression he was talking specifically about AI as the 'synthetics' seemed to have qualities like self determination which for the artificially made can only refer to AI (similar to how harvesting Organics only seemed to refer to sentient creatures). Which would explain the Reapers, EDI, and Geth. As for the Relays I thought they blew up because of the energy load of the blast or something, as they are also destroyed in Synthesis and Control post-EC, plus I thought the Catalyst said something along those lines.

I want the guy that walks in circles on the crew deck to hold the nameplate. Instead of attaching it to the wall, he stands and salutes, one last time. :crying:

Jack is my LI and I've had Garrus and Traynor do the honors.

In truth, it's does not really matter to me much. I'm just thankful that it's not a mandatory-Liara thing, like the final flashback of the original ending.

Little do you know that when Shepard's not looking, he's actually keeping Liara from sneaking up to the captain's quarters to stare at Shepard while he sleeps.

Anyone who didn't romance the VS or Liara got screwed in the original ending with the slides.
