Would you like to see physical changes to PC/companions over time?

I don't know what period of time the entirety of DAI will cover... But say if it's at least one full year in Thedas from the beginning of the game to the end, would you like to see physical changes in your PC or companions that would reflect the passage of time? Longer hair, more stubble, more scars, that sort of thing?

Not really. I mean, I'd accept i if you were able to get rid of them but otherwise no.

Yes. I want my Inquisitor to get really depressed, start trying to eat the depression away and become obese.

Sure, I like that aspect in the Batman Arkham series, but only if you were allowed to keep a clean shaved look, etc, like have choice in that aspect, since I know not everyone would be fond of that happening.  But how would they approach it - like after said "story mission", do they pop up a menu asking if you want to show "stubble"? lmao.

I just don't see it working in a RPG like that, but more suited to a more linear experience, like -

This should happen to all the companions you always leave at camp.

It would definitaly be a nice touch but I could certainally understand if bioware dosnt do this. They've already pushed back the release so I could understand if they dont want to spend time on small details like this.

Well it depends on the time elapsed. It felt weird to me that they all looked exactly the same in DA2 after seven years. The hair was exactly the same, the clothing was exactly the same... the only real indication of the passage of time were some dialog and Hawke moving into the Amell mansion in Act 2. If DAI is much shorter as DAO was, I don't need that much change, no.

However, I will add that seeing companions acquire some scars or other signs of battle wear would be fun.

I would like to be able to do the changing myself if it happened. I would want full control over what was changed and how. It would be great to change your characters hair style at different times in the game. Add a few scars, change lip color etc.....

If it reflected events, and could change depending on choices, perhaps.  Particularly for NPCs, since a lot of people have got their PC how they want them and wouldn't want the game messing with it unduly, but I don't think people can really complain if Bioware's characters looks get changed - well, unless they have a love interest unexpectedly turn into a slug monster, maybe

I'd very much prefer they avoid the evil = scarred/ugly thing.  If anything, I'd like to see a particularly heroic (if reckless) choice resulting in scars.

Or at least give us something like the mirror in DA2.

I remember I used that to make my Hawke's beard longer each act.

I would love it yes. Changing appearence over time whether due to story events or simply age has been on my wishlist for some time. It is "small" touches like this that help the world feel alive!

For example one of my biggest complaints about Mass Effect was that the shipmates NEVER moved. They sat there like plastic statues waiting to be activated with the push of a button. Like animated manequins. When ME3 introduced companions that shifted around all over the ship periodically, and they were usually interacting with other members of the crew.

Adding in changes to appearence even if they are only small things like a change in hairstyle or a scar from a story mission would help so much make these people feel alive. I concede how it might annoy some people though.

Depends on the amount of time covered. In Dragon Age 2's case I would certainly would have liked some, nothing changing in 7 years is just insane.

Rather, I'd like changes to occur with events. For example that silly blood smear across Default Hawke's nose would have more meaning if it actually occured within the game events.

("Hawke took the blood of his dead brother/sister and made a mark across his face as a promise to him/her that s/he would take care of their mother!")

Like Shepard's glowing orange scars? :P

I actually liked the scars, I just hated how I had no control over them. Paragons totally missed out. :/

I'd like that a lot. something like charging into a burning building to rescue someone means half your face is burned horifically.

So punish the players for doing the right thing?

Wouldn't exactly be a punishment. Just think of it as a reminder of the good things you did, and people could reflect on how good you are when they see that scar. Well, that is if the NPC's would recognize the scars and stuff

And just for realism's sake, too. If you run into a burning building to save someone, you should probably be a little bit worse for wear afterwards.

That would be a lot nicer. Risking your life for someone without having any side effects is pretty stupid. It diminishes the thing you did. Not everyone could go all-heroic unscathed

It would be perfect for me, since I'm a goody two shoes with a thing for crazy scars. If our PC or our LI could look like the Hound from Game of Thrones that would be super <3

Sorry. I get sensitive when people talk about this subject.

Trust me, I know all about burning buildings and scars caused from it.
