I was looking over some of the mass effect trailers to help ease the 4 day wait, and while letting the graphics wow me I glanced at the eyes of the squadmates. It got me thinking... What would it be like to have the eyes of these aliens?
Does a Quarian see the world with a purple tint? Do the Turians have telescopic vision like an eagle? What would it be like to have an extra pair of eyes like a Batarian?
It just lights my imagination trying to see how an alien sees!
In the eyes of an alien.

What about Hanar? Anyone remember if they even have eyes/photoreceptors?
Maybe there is a species that can see the polarization of light, like squid? I've always wondered what that would look like.

That is a good question... How the hell does a Hanar see?

So this whole time Hanar did not even know what I looked like... They just assumed.
I'm insulted!!!!!
On a more serious note perhaps the Protheans did something to their biology to allow sight?

They MUST be able to see: they communicate through bioluminesence!
Which doesn't answer the question 'with what do they see?'. Maybe they have tiny photoreceptors lining their body as opposed to one (or more) sets of well-developed eyes?

I am looking at a picture of a hanar and I see NOTHING on its skin at all... Maybe they have an organ inside of them, or perhaps their skin "sees"?

They communitcate via bioluminesence, would be quite senseless, if they cant see anything.

They do communicate with bio-luminescence. That is a fact, but the question is how?
