Here is where you'll put your characters.  Please only make one post in this thread to list your characters, and don't include any Bioware-created character (Shepard, Joker, Udina, etc.) as your own.  If you want to add a character later, just go back and edit your original post.

Basic Appearance:  Androkan's carapace is all a matte steel-gray with only the joining skin between his plates being a darker color. His flanges are a moderate length and all angle towards a single point directly behind the top of his skull. Eyes are green-gray and the upper part of his jawline mandible has been chipped off. His facial markings are a dark red, visible but still faint against the grayness of his skin. Each line of red traces the edge of a flange before turning back along the center of each and tapering off. On the face near where tear-ducts would be for a human the lines trace his 'nose' down to his upper 'lip' before coming together as a solid bar tapering off his chin. He stands 6'5" and weighs 240 pounds.

 

Personality:  Androkan could be seen as an exemplar of the expectations his race has for people in his position. He is driven, intense, unforgiving, passionate, honor-bound, sincere, and hardened. He fights intensely but loosely with an understanding of his own limits to honed he can walk the razor's edge between 99.9% and 100.1% in effort to fight the long and hard fight. He has, like many Turian, a long history in conflict and war and from it comes his detached view of the general plight of the people who see none of it. He responds strictly to the mission parameters he is sent on and with unwavering conviction brings home either the tale of success or leaves every last drop of blood or effort on foreign soil. His weakness resides therein: His fight could put his destination in hell and he would wade his way through thick and thicker to complete the mission, even if it means not making it out again. "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few" is the Turian motto, and he takes it to heart and will take it to the grave.

 

Brief History:  Androkan was born to a family on the far-off Turian settlement of Tarrus within the Eagle Nebula. As a common outpost for Turian ships traveling into and out of the Terminus Androkan was exposed to both the Victory of some and the Defeat of others. When it came time for conscription he requested to join the 18th division, the initial grounds for which someone may take the path to join the 21st .

 

With his career beginning at age eighteen it was not until the age of 27 that has was transferred to the Armiger training program from which he would be trained as a Havoc, Ghost or Saboteur. He was designated a Ghost and for three years never left the Terminus. By the time he was thirty the Terminus had changed a driven man into a resolute one. At the age of 31 he was commissioned by the Council to take part in a raid deep within the Terminus against the Eclipse who had managed to smuggle Cer-Ru, a highly toxic nerve agent, out of Illium. The raid went downhill when the unit sent in was caught by an Eclipse Commando, alerting the station full of Mercs of Council forces inside the station.

 

Eventually on Exfil after grabbing the gas canister Androkan was forced to leak the capsule into the ventilation system to end a seige on their holed-up position, eventually leading to the deaths of over three hundred mercs, including ranking members from the Eclipse, Blood Pack and other more secretive groups. After fighting through the remaining contacts within the station and returning to the Citadel (with the canister resealed) he was offered Spectre status in lieu of the resourcefulness he showed during the seige. He was a Spectre for another three years before returning to the Armiger for a single year of service before being called on by the council again.

 

Other Notes:  As a Ghost unit Androkan has access to the ODPA, or Omni-directional Propelled Armor which is assigned to all Armiger units. Similar to ME3 the rockets do not provide sustained lift however can be used for quick leaps, increased speed and Zero-G maneuvering.

Eteon has a rather pale complextion compared to most Turians, an off-white leaning towards slight gray. Her side crests are more pronounced than most female Turians, reaching slightly back off the head while the crests at the top of the skull stop about halfway, common to female Turians. Her facial markings are that of curved indigo chevrons that are located on each of the side crests, a curve under each eye, and an inverted chevron connecting the two under-eye markings. For a Turian she is of slightly above-average height and above average weight which translates into her being  somewhat stocky. Not james-Vega-bear-man-Stocky, more heavier-but-trim-Micheal-Fassbender, if y'know what I mean.

She is called a 'negotiator' because she usually manages to get people to agree to odd or uncertain terms. Through blackmail. Whether or not the information outlined in the blackmail is available or not is questionable, but she's willing to try nonetheless.

Physical Profile: Eteon is a fairly exemplary image of the Turian race in strength and speed, unfortunately she's too big to be considered sneaky and to brash to be considered tactful. Those traits aside the Turian is physically one of the strongest on the ship, and while Deidrus can outpace Eteon, Eteon can expend energy on routes other Turians cannot without wasting time.

 Psychological Profile: People could incorrectly label Eteon a pathological liar with a tendency to manipulate others to her immediate satisfaction. Because she also does it for gratification later. She feels the need to not be in control but to have her hands on any and all situations around her to remain in the loop and unsurprised when things happen to remain one step ahead. She is a mediocre soldier with skill, but it is her foresight and information available to her which truly make her a force on the field.

Basic Appearance:  Of African and Native American descent, Kanae has dark tone skin and raven black dreaded hair long enough to pull back in a ponytail.  He has an average muscular build upheld by daily exercise regimen and a few good scars and bullet wounds to show for experience on his body.  He has brown eyes and a bar code imprinted below his left eye.  He stands at 190 cm and weighs 75.3 kg.

 

Personality:  Kanae is known to be friendly to just about anyone, even willing to throw down with a krogan so long as it’s not to the death.  He’s very inquisitive and loves picking up new facts and language pointers from other races.  He’s very sociable and frequents bars, for the people and less for the drinks.  Has been known to start fights for the fun of it, claiming that it helps him feel alive since he has CIP (see history).  In combat, he’s relaxed but focused.  He prefers to stay loose, claiming that too much stress makes a person too focused on one thing instead of seeing the whole picture.  He pulls no punches and is known for his ruthless efficiency with his weapons and beyond. 

 

Brief History:  Kanae was earthborn in Oxford, England.  The first of two children, Kanae was born with biotic abilities.  Growing up under strict but loving parents, he pushed himself to do great things, but didn’t care about being the best.  Finding a love for martial arts, it was one of the only things his family let him indulge in.  Enlisting when he was able, he trained to be in the infiltration units but dabbled in engineering courses when he had free time.  In his first real mission, he ended up overexerting himself protecting his unit from assault by hostiles while trying to evacuate colonists off a station under siege.  He figured the ends justified the means but his CO chewed him out for it and slapped some metals on him for valor. 

By twenty one, he already had success, failure, and more than a few blown amps.   Furthering his training as an infiltrator and an engineer, he started to take assassination type operations.  He spent two years operating out of the Terminus Systems, acting as survey and bounty hunter for the Alliance.   By which point, he was already suffering from indifferent congenital analgesia (CIP) which kept him from reacting to pain due to biotic amp overloads.  He could perceive the stimuli but lacked the appropriate response to it.  As a result, he kept a monitor through his omni-tool to keep an eye on his life signs, similar to how a quarian’s suit monitors punctures.  Partnering up with an asari lawwoman from Illium, they took on a smuggling ring of Red Sand and weapons by the Blue Suns into Alliance space.  After two months and three new bullets wounds, he managed to help her stop the smugglers, part of the collateral damage still being garnished out of his own pocket.  Ultimately though, due to extenuating circumstance and pressure from their respective supervisors, they decided to “official” end their relationship. 

After three more years, he found himself indirectly working for the Council to take on their bounties, and reporting his assignments to the Alliance.  Sometimes he would “eliminate” the target, taking proof to turn in while covertly turning over the target to the Alliance to do God knows what.  He never cared unless someone came looking for him which happened a few times.  Sometimes it ended peacefully, most times it ended messily.  He settled down on Illium since its civilization more closely resembled what he was most used to.  Ground in pretty deep in the Terminus System, he kept a loose connection with informants on several worlds and sometimes fed to the services of the Shadow Broker’s agents.  For the most part, he kept his nose clean and his head clear.  Now at twenty seven, he’s received an N7 Commendation but he’s complacent how he should respond to it.

 

Other Notes:  Kanae usually buys his weapons out of his own pocket as to keep Alliance funds out of the Terminus Systems as much as possible.  He’s constantly checking and cleaning them on a meticulous level.  His biotic charge is usually coupled with a form of martial arts to grab (judo) or strike (karate), and then he will quickly use his tactical cloak to find cover.  Due to this, his shields have an average kinetic strength and can be reduced in only a few shots.  Too much biotics tend to leave him really hungry.

Basic Appearance:  Unit COLE looks like a more muscular version of the Hahne-Kedar-manufactured LOKI Mech.  Upgraded with experimental proprietary mini-fabrication technology, with partial shielding with element zero processing plants, and additional ebony black ablative armor.  Four optical “eyes” scan its surroundings.  There is a crack over its lower left optic sensor.  An easy fix, but its operator claims it adds character.

 

Personality: Autonomous but at times curious.  Priorities group success over self-preservation.

 

Brief History:  Marked as a defective unit, Kanae bought the old Eclipse LOKI mech for a few hundred credits.  Augmenting damaged parts and installing hand to hand as well as firearm software, Kanae managed to piece together a decent unit that served as an additional hand in tight spots.  While attempting to take down a target, unit COLE received damage to optical sensors and partial damage to its core processor.  Beyond his expertise but too attached to let the mech just ‘die,’ Kanae hired a Quarian to repair COLE and make him more durable.  The offer was turned down at first, but he pressed, eventually getting his way.  Using a scrubbed piece of geth tech, COLE’s processor was salvaged and its chasse was reworked to make it more durable.  After testing and retesting the unit until he was satisfied, the Quarian returned COLE to Kanae.  There was little noticeable difference save for internal runtimes pick up and the ability to strategize more efficiently.  Kanae uses the later in his profession, taking only a slight concern in his VI’s upgrades.  Two years to the day, COLE has watched Kanae’s back diligently.  Kanae rationalizing that so long as he’s not shot in the back, he doesn’t care.

 

Other Notes: COLE is a standard VI, even after the upgrades.  The geth aspects just makes him curious about humans.  He’s the personality equal to any Geth, but without the direct hostility to organics unless given reason to be.  He would consider Kanae part of his consensus, though marks most of his actions off as inadvisable most of the time.  It’s capable of upgrading itself, but usually doesn’t change from its basic layout.  COLE is used in the assistance of medical for Kanae’s condition.

It looks good to me. I don't see any possible inconsistencies or issues with this character build and you added more detail than necessary but that's not a bad thing. Extra detail makes me want to go back and edit Deidrus to add detail @.@.  Do you have any preference in how to introduce Kanae?

Well Flare said he'd probably be done his Character bios tomorrow since he has some time after his obligations to get stuff finished off... Well, depends on how much time you want to spend on it. If you have time tonight we could have a recruitment mission just to get you on board and then get Flare's chars tomorrow. Don't know about Darth (Bronitonian, Darth for short when I refer to him) but he said he'd want to RP so he might be around tomorrow or some time after that...

 

Meh, Recruitment mission sounds fine to me if you want to do some NPC work to get Deidrus in the right direction. Whether it will be combat or not, I'll leave the surprises to you unless you want to openly discuss them in RP disc. This stuff is better put there to keep this place clean.

Honestly, I didn't mean for her to be one originally. xD Now, I'm thinking that she honestly doesn't care about being an AY and because of her intelligence and strives in education and military, she was swept under the rug. (I'm pretty sure AYs are allowed to work in the military, like that Huntress whose friend/lover was turned into a Banshee.) Though, the Asari government wouldn't want it known that one of their brightest minds (Who is working to cure the genetic condition, behind closed doors) is an AY. That would look bad on them, especially to families of Asari who have been forced to remain isolated.

It's acceptable to me and makes sense that Ardat'Yakshi would be quietly employed within the Commandos not unlike how the Cabals are run within the Hierarchy. They would be shock forces designed to take on the tasks that other Asari aren't beefy enough to handle, and the fact they are Ardat'Yakshi and social outcasts from the outset means it is all the easier to move them or train them or otherwise without people getting too nosy.

 

It would be a political scandal, but something effective nonetheless.

Of course, if the AY used her domination powers outside of fulfilling the mission, like melding with someone, they would probably be forced to a monastery. It's walking on eggshells, for them. Though, they'd probably be awarded more freedom than the normal AY due to military service, it's still hella monitored and honestly, quite sad.

Writer’s notes: This character is not written as a sheet for a game. She is written as a three-dimensional character in a story. It is the opinion of the writer that Asari, by MEU lore are overpowered, and thus require a deft touch when writing them. There is a reason they did not take over the entire galaxy. Perhaps it is a lack of a sense of urgency due to their long life spans? The job of Spectre is very stressful for her. She drinks and smokes heavily. Also she prefers to use her weapons instead of biotics in combat since use of her very powerful biotics causes a great deal of fatigue, as it should. So in a prolonged combat situation they will be a last resort.

Physical Profile: Very well-toned, strong, and highly flexible. Passes for a maiden. She has no permanent distinguishing marks or tattoos.

 

Personal Biography: Born in Polos on Cyone. When she was very young, father taught her the Drell martial and biotic arts as he learned them from the Hanar. She mastered these by the age of 50. The latter when mastered by an Asari with high biotic ability have some interesting applications in the way of manipulation and mind invasion. At the age of 60, her mother arranged for her to study Asari Martial Arts with a Matriarch who was once a member of the Serrice Guard and who had the reputation of being the finest instructor on Cyone.

 

She remembers what Quarians look like out of their suits having met a few of them. The Morning War happened when she was 60. She remembers them being a very attractive race, and recalls how sad it was when they were driven from their homeworld and The Council did nothing but punish them for it. Consequently, she has a soft spot for them. 

 

She committed her first crimes in theft at 50, and her first murder at 100. She's been wanted by Salarian STG for 200 years (it was a biggie - an assassination but there was a good reason for it). She uses numerous aliases and has hacked databases to change IDs. There is so much of it. They gave her a raw deal. No one gives her a raw deal.

 

She feels that with the advent of modern weapons people have lost the appreciation for the art of killing. The finesse is gone. It's all about bludgeoning now. She meditates and practices her martial dances and rituals daily.

 

Psychological Profile: Puts justice ahead of the law. Has contempt for those who abuse power. She sees herself as a weapon for her clients. Knows she cannot right the wrongs of the galaxy and is only concerned with keeping her personal space free of outside interference. She is a professional. Will take on a cause should taking no action adversely affect her lifestyle - the Goddess help anyone who obstructs her path. She plays the long game, and will use negotiation whenever possible.

 

She is capable of love, and does not see this as a weakness. The Goddess help anyone who harms or attempts to harm her loved ones. Note: she will not come at you crazy. She is very patient and methodical. She will try her best not to harm innocents.

 

She is charming. People will tend to talk to her and know she will not judge. She can get information from people that others have difficulty obtaining. 

 

She is not so much a sociopath as she is good at compartmentalizing things. The latter keeps her focused so that she can land on her feet should things go badly.

 

UPDATE: Received full pardon from the Council and is now a SPECTRE in command of the CSV Janiri. She is bad at covering up her prejudice. She is an Asari supremacist and while she tolerates other races, she absolutely hates Salarians. She has warmed to humans, however. Can be paranoid.

Other: She smokes 2 packs of cigarettes a day, and smokes small cigars on occasion. *New* Stress associated with being a Spectre in a command position for which she was never trained has her progressing into chain smoking. Alcohol consumption, particularly of Nevosian Ambrosia increasing.

Economic Stature: Wealthy - worth 750 million CR. She's made her fortune by investing in the Asari, Turian, and most recently the Earth MIC, all of which boomed after the Battle of the Citadel. VERA set up a shell company called Dewey, Burnham, and Howe on Illium through which to launder money. The Asari don't get the joke.

 

Experience: 300 years of theft, assassinations, espionage, industrial espionage all through agents. She takes care of things: all kinds of things.

One would think that by 3075 (since the Asari discovered the Citadel in Asari years) they would have genetic screening for it and be able to treat the condition with some genetic treatments. Humans treat heart conditions that way in utero and haven't gotten hammered for genetic modification by the Council ...or was that a plot hole in ME1? But I guess BW needed a mook generator.

I think the explanation for the AY existence was that there is a combination of stigmata around the AY for what they represent to the Asari religion along with general prejudice around Purebloods which stymied attempts to bring about further research into the condition. Along with that, I would assume by the fact that the Asari who arguably have had the longest stretch of time to research and treat the condition despite that there is something intrinsic about AY which makes it hard, difficult or impossible to detect. If the condition does not appear at all before melding or 'maturing' it is very possible that the change is something that occurs during childhood (0-100 yrs) which is the issue and thus cannot be prevented so much as made impossible to happen again. (I guess epigenetics for an explanation? Dunno, I am no Biologist or biochemist)

Of course, while in said clunky armor, Deidrus and whoever else will be sure to hear her complain all mission long about how bulky and awkward it is, never mind how ugly and generic it is.

Uh, does the rule of cool apply? Does Naleena get to wear the Samara mask in space so she can wear her leather coat? Jack didn't depressurize with the mask. I mean those tattoos kept her safe. So the leather coat should keep Naleena safe, right?

I honestly never understood why Liara could get away with just a mask. I mean, sure, she has no ears to get burst but the lack of pressure would hurt like a mofo...

 

And there is so much wrong with how ME shows space's affect on bodies that personally I'd say that it's hogwash. Wear armor in space because IT'S SPAAAAAAACE. Skin is covered, mouth, eyes and ears are too so that they don't burst from the lack of pressure.... That's my opinion at least.
