some of my shepards intentionally draw the reaper capital ships into a system before s/he enters ftl. the more reaper capital ships trying to catch the Normandy, the fewer that are left to harvest planetside.

I've always had him die because I never met him on the Citadel. That's about to change in this newest playthrough I'm just completing.

Also kudos to Bioware for how they handled the romance. The dialogue makes it very clear what the choices are and if you're not into that, you're just buddies. Certainly not the "he's gaying up on me!" that haters would have you believe. Or is that Kaidan? Well, it doesn't matter anyway. Kaidan's a crater.

Sounds like a challenge similar to your trilogy-in-a-day.

I just go around scanning stuff and when I summon the reapers I loop around and stuff, leave the system and come back etc..

Lol I just scan the entire system, remember where everything's at, get killed... autosave is done upon entering the system.

I think there's only 1 system in which it's impossible to get everything in 1 try. (that system which has 5 options, you can only get 4 before a Reaper will catch you)

The Hades Gamma cluster tends to be the hardest, but from the ANN it's also the reaper staging area so I guess it holds true to that. They come in fewer pings than most of the other systems.

I've never decked al Jilani in ME1 or 3.

ME2 on the otherhand...depends on the Shepard and how frustrated they are with the Council's BS.

Actually I will probably start that later today since Dead Space 3 is getting annoying especially with the autosave in the game.

I've never not made peace between the Geth and Quarians.

I've never destroyed the Heretics. I always rewrite.

(you can safely conclude from this that if peace was not an option, I'd destroy the Quarians)

....to my eternal shame, I can't say I've never rewritten the heretics. The first time I played the ME series(borrowed it from a co-worker), I avoided renegade points like the plague. For some idiotic reason, I only wanted the "blue" points and avoided the "red" because.....*sigh*..how does Deinon Slayer put it? "Can I have my cookie now?" Even though I chose most(there were a couple "paragon" options I could just not do) of the "blue" options, I hated that I had to sound and act like a self-righteous and naive ******(why do I have to be a dick to Mordin? Why do I have to be abhorred of the fact that Grunt is a Krogan and will therefore act like a Krogan? Why can I not take out this ****** and his friends on Miranda's LM? Why are these considered "evil"? Damn It!). It wasn't until the end of the Rannoch Arc where I noticed that saving the Quarians was renegade that I finally said f*** it(even though I had the option to end the Arc with peace and did, that little caveat still annoyed me). On subsequent play-throughs I just said screw it and ignored the the paragon and renegade points and chose dialogue options and actions that I wanted  to do(with the exception of ME2 where you need to be more paragon and or renegade to use persuasion...lousy move on BW. , At least I can have my renegade meter a quarter full and still have enough paragon points to use every persuasion).

So far, I've never not made peace between the Quarians and the Geth. Once I have time to continue this current play-through however(won't be until May. I don't have enough free time as of late, too much homework and I still have 13 pages of essays to write), I am going to change that.

"you can safely conclude from this that if peace was not an option, I'd destroy the [Geth]"

You could always choose not to choose; side with the geth at Rannoch, then destroy the reapers. That's something I've never done. Hmm...

That was the outcome on my first (no metagame knowledge) playthrough. I couldn't make peace on Rannoch, and wanted to kill the reapers...

I made peace between them the first time (and 99% of the rest of the times I've played, heh), mostly because I thought it was the right thing to do, but there was also a selfish motivation in there; I figured I might need both fleets to beat the reapers.

It's the right thing to do if the option is available, I agree. The problem is that you need Tali and Legion for it ;)

I can't let the Geth live, I just can't. Even if I can make peace I usually don't. I also never rewrite the Heretics.

If I'm playing from a metagaming perspective, I always make peace if possible, two fleets beat one.

I've never played any of the trilogy on insanity. I did Tali's recruit mission in ME2 on hardcore once, to get the geth pulse rifle.

How much tougher is the insanity level game compared to the normal difficulty? I've read the descriptions on the options screen, but they're not very specific.

Damn this thread, heh. It's making me want to try all the stuff I've never done.

me1 If you got a level 60 shep with spectre guns its easy.

me2 is the hardest out of the trilogy use a soldier or engineer its only got a few hard bits like the Praetorian but i skipped the  thresher maw.

me3 is easy use soldier or vanguard only bit thats  hard is kai leng and the bit on earth where you have to use the rockets but thats just my opinion

Compared to Normal? A lot harder.

That doesn't make it hard, however. The third game is especially easy, if you know how to play well. Second is probably the hardest, but nothing that can't be done.

But if you're only used to Normal, yeah... you're gonna sweat when you start.

A first-time ME1 run on Insanity is pretty brutal. Curse the female that bore you, krogan battlemaster.
