With enough krogan offworld and the galaxy in tatters it's not inconceivable that they could come out of the mess on top. However it's also not inconceivable that everyone else couldn't just dump Genophage MkII on them if they start causing trouble again.

The krogan are scattered. Most outside of Wrex's camp don't even have a sense of species identity anymore. And with the toll the war's taken on the galaxy no one's going to be starting **** right away. And even if they do, it'd only be fringe forces with salvaged scrap for tech.

The krogan are only an aggregate threat as a horde. But the days of the hordes are long past. And again, assuming the other species don't go full retard and just hand the krogan ships and tools, the korgan will never rise again. If they can manage themselves and adapt, they'll add to the galactic community, not threaten it.

You know what's interesting?

I've seen this debate plenty of times on this forum. Cure the genophage. Don't kill the genophage. How dangerous are the krogan?

I always cure the genophage. But that argument doesn't really even factor to the decision all that much.

Shepard promised to do it. So he does it.

Simple as that. You don't betray your allies. It's not only the height is dishonor, but a generally monumentally idiotic thing to do.

How come that's never brought up?

It'd probably just boil over into an anti-autodialogue debate somehow anyway. You know how this place is.

Logic and reason were against them, so they resorted to the one thing they had left: emotional appeal. And don't underestimate emotional appeal! Such a powerful thing it is, so insidious and seductive. Just reading these forums, you can quickly get a sense for how easily most people are roped into terrible decisions if you tug at their emotions in the right ways. It's an excellent illustration of why the kind of power to make such enormous decisions does not belong in the hands of most people ... not so much just because power corrupts but because emotional appeal easily tempts most people into using that power in terribly short-sighted ways.

Oh the irony.

And I really have no issue going back on my word. Heck half the reason I like Control is because it gives the metaphorical finger to Hackett. The other half is that I finally have the power to organize galactic society as I see fit.

You can get more of what you want with a MassivelyEffective Bob from Accounting and a kind word than you can with just a gun.

Goddammit, try as I might, I just cannot take this particular board seriously for more than a week.

Because your allies might not be worth the effort? Because keeping someone as your ally who is unreliable and unpredictable is unadvisable.

Let's not go into details about your self-righteous and uninformed ideology. Lest you make the same mistake the Germans made when they accepted the Italians as allies.

Was it ever meant to be taken seriously? I don't see any devs (or mods) here...

The krogan are best placed to turn into a horde rapidly in a ravaged galaxy...

The krogan have it in them to be more than they're usually portrayed. IIRC it says in the Codex somewhere that blood rage was once regarded as a dangerous abberation, so they must've had a bit of sense. They've also given me the impression of not being quite the brutes they're usually portrayed as being, and can use their heads to think when needs be, they just prefer to use them for headbutting.

And I'll be blunt. I want power. A benevolent sort of power, true (my favorite variation is Paragon with a cure and Wrex in charge) but still with the ability to radically alter the political landscape.

Serious in relative terms. I'm chock full of what I at least like to think is worthwhile commentary on other boards here. But I think the perpetual swirling brew of negativity cappuccino on the ME3 story board just compels me to instantly dive toward absurdism.

Which makes it all the more silly to sow distrust for yourself. Or to make decisions out of foolish spite such as 'giving the finger' to Hackett or anyone else.

I don't think a physical god that controls the Reapers is going to care about trust.

Well, it's become the breeding ground for the Preening Bob. See as it puffs its feathers to try and stake its claim for superiority against other herding animals. It will walk, and sometimes run into herds to make a stake in the claim of land, often rushing in using deceitful and superfluous trickery to bolster its image as a legitimate threat. However, it is an illusion, perpetuated by the Preening Bob to quickly create a scare to the animals in the plot. It isn't altogether very formidable. A properly cunning predator, or even the irritated herd animal can easily reclaim its plot and run the Bob off.

I will do what it takes to destroy the reapers, if that means betraying allies to get more assets, than that's what I will do.

I've never picked Destroy or Refuse, kept everyone alive at the end of ME2 or let Garrus win in the shoot-off. There, I think I've isolated the three most controversial facts in the Jeff Zero guidebook.

Yup. When the reapers have won every time for millions of years you can't be in the position of sticking with principles.

I wouldn't call someone like Wreav an ally anyway; at least not one by choice. Shepard is forced to cooperate with him even though they hate each other. They did in my case at least. What kind of ally sends threats through e-mail after the genophage is "cured" as well as plenty of verbal threats to entire races beforehand?

Technically the krogans weren't Shepard's allies anyway. They were the turians'. Primarch Victus doesn't even know of the sabotage.

They're really not. They're literally not physically placed to turn into a horde. All the females are on Tuchanka see? The place controlled by Wrex and very closely watched by everyone else.

And I'm not saying the krogan are dumb brutes. I'm saying they have nothing that makes them a threat. I'm not sure they have enough to just survive, without help.

And I'll be blunt. I want power. A benevolent sort of power, true (my favorite variation is Paragon with a cure and Wrex in charge) but still with the ability to radically alter the political landscape.

And I want the power to be free of the political landscape. No more capituating to inane leaders, no more playing nice for the sake of bullshit alliances. No more petty organic grievances in other words. Just me and an endless cosmos to explore.

Something for everyone.

I don't think a physical god that controls the Reapers is going to care about trust.

Pfft. Please. He is but an apprentice. I am the master.

As a sniper infiltrator it's almost insulting that he thinks he's on my level. But I let it go. I consider it just friendly sport between bros.
