I'm totally fine with ghosting, but I'd much rather give people a chance to post for themselves, even if it takes a bit longer.  It's not like we have a deadline, so what's the rush? I figured this would be kind of a big deal, but if you guys wanna railroad through it like the Illium job, I'm fine with that too.

@Terca: :lol:

@cknarf:  NO, no, no it isn't about railroading through.  More like making sure stuff is happening.  I really would not prefer this be rushed, I'd just like to see some participation.  For me I write a lot so expect a lot to happen, and I just don't want to steamroller over people myself.  In the meantime, I would actually love if you guys would take on more of what is happening in the cargo modules, with the mutants and the mercs as that is free range stuff for your characters and rpg.  Like SGJ and Brotarian are doing.   Port side (engineering team) has to catch up to  the 3rd module down, and instead of it being shoved through quickly, I'd just love if the writing there could be concentrated to catch up.

Anyway....

Retaking the Medusa:  Update

The timer on the bomb along the spine outside has just been remotely set for 15 minutes.

And, coincidentally, as the Medusa changes course to head directly into Vem Osca, it will take 15 minutes before the critical point is reached that the ship cannot escape from the gravity well of the gas giant.  Beyond that, it will be only a few minutes later that the ship would disintegrate.  Still, the Medusa will be doomed in 15 minutes whether the charge goes off and/or the ship cannot escape gravity's pull.

Meanwhile, the Medusa has deployed guns and starts firing like its the 4th of July (or whatever holiday that you celebrate involving copious amounts of fireworks).  At the Janiri's range, there is no chance the ship will be damaged.    But extremely close vessels (and that includes any small craft trying to escape the Medusa) stand a chance of being hit by ordinance, given the close range firepower of the Medusa, and even if the ships have stealth.

On board there are some crazy creatures on the loose.  They aren't everywhere (my gohd, people do live here even if they are insane) but apparently they are about to be let loose in a larger area than they were intended to be.  Some...Many...bodies are going to get hurt!

The teams fighting in the pods are not entirely organized yet but they are getting there.  4 sets of cargo modules are on each side of the ship.  So far, Sweep team is entering the 3rd on their side and I believe Engineering team just entered their first.  So spread the love please.  There are a total of approximately 10 mercs and 25 ish mutants to spread around whatever's left.  Plus wildlife.  Remember, your enemies are not banditos, they are not Arnold Shwartzenaeger movie idiots.  They are tough, intelligent and/or just crazed, and should take something to put down.  Go get em!

I've ghosted Vayne before, and seem to have his character down very well. Brot hasn't complained about it, and in fact has liked the way I've written him. I've given him permission to ghost Irina, too.

@ Kel

I could push through in a couple long text posts if that's what's needed. I don't think it is but if people are crushin' for time I could.

It isn't so much a crush for time but a push to get your team roughly even with the other (i,e, roughly through second cargo module) So if you can do it, that would be great.

Actually I hope people can all jump in.  However it goes, though.

TBH you do a pretty good job. A lot better then I probably would ghosting someone elses character.

But yeah, that plan actually sounds like a good idea. Gives vayne some smarts, which I love.

I figured it would be something a Krogan would think of, especially one minimally familiar with the species. Krogan are typically written as brutes, but then we have Wrex. I see Vayne more like the ME1 Wrex: battle hardened, more reserved than Wrex, but just as intelligent. Irina likes him because in her mind once you make friends with a Krogan they're your friend, and she needs people who are steady around her.

Made an 'action' post. Will PM to all in Engineering so you can change what you think needs to be changed.

Said there would be writing tonight. There totally was. Ridiculous, action-packed writing that will probably have to be edited, like the 2 seperate hallways in the Medusa possibly. Just got tired of not writing anything, lol.

Well done.

I've got to get something in quickly I forgot last night.  Later, I'll put up some side stuff and respond to whatever has happened.

A quick note:  Tomorrow during the day I have to be called for jury duty.  Basically, it is the vetting day, and I've always been disqualified because of my job.  That's a whole lot of getting up early for a boring day in the courthouse.  Nothing is guaranteed, however, and it is possible I end up serving for anywhere up to 8 weeks.  That would be the worst case, but its all up to the judges.  Anyway, not expecting a problem, but it would change my schedule.  Here's to hoping I get an understanding judge...

I've always wanted to get called for jury duty.  I'd reenact the **** out of 12 Angry Men the best I could.

Hah!

FYI I would call a no go on shuttles flying at point blank range with the Medusa, invisible or no.  Actually, we discussed the capabilities of the Medusa and pretty much that would mean getting shot down (RB made it clear that the think kills entire fighter squadrons, and I think if a shuttle could fly out of a bay with a fully functioning, armed ship, and get up to the bridge and shoot the bridge, that ship would suck).  Further, flying out of the bay, invisible or no, has a good chance of getting shot down anyway, forget the bridge.  But I'd give it like a 15% escape if it was running away at top speed.  Maybe.

Also, you really don't have to worry about Jenus and Tallis.  Not to mention, if you start having the shuttle fire inside the forward bay, if you follow, that's a good chance that the bridge would blow the forward half of the section of the Medusa off with the bomb they have there (until it is disarmed).  That does two notable things:

1. cut the ship in half before the teams get to where they need to go.

2.  Probably kill Anika.

This is a bit of a meta, but basically, Jenus and Tallis can handle it, I'm letting you know.  Let's consider that the aiming of things like gun turrets on Scythe's is a lot more dangerous than Jenus who was already set on placing a charge to get through if she needs to.  The point of that section is to let everyone know going back is hard. Not impossible. Anyway, thems my suggestions.

I liked it. Though there were some points. Essuls not in the engineering group, hes in the other one. Could proibably just change it to vayne and solve it. Another point is vaynes writing. A bit too eage and gun-hoey with the dialouge and such. Way I kinda try to write him is like a hard boiled cop, with a bit of pyromania thrown in. That's just for future reference though, no harm done.

Post was still fun to read, and I like the strange extra bit added in about indoctrination, though I'm not sure where it came from personally.

As for the dive..... Is Naleena assuming the crew are trying to kill themselves? Jess doesn't think so. She think's there's something more going on than seems apparent.

Hence, she want's to know if they are recording the mission.

Then have Jenus say, "Negative on that! We've got it covered."

No. Meta, that's not what's going on. She's assuming that the trap was to get us on board then destroy the ship.... and kill you, Jess. She assumes that Iyana has an escape route planned.

Essul is recording. He's always been recording.
