Jess take it upon yourself to start a dialogue.... for drama... even though Naleena wants you to hold off. You know, be Jess. You'll contact their command post. The terrorists will need to use runners to the different outposts because they'll need to verify whether or not the others are hearing you. It will affect their morale if they are, but you're only able to contact their command post.

Okay, we're about to hit a weekend for me and I'm worried we stalled out.  Barring FH's post, which I know he said would be up this morning (and which I can make room for anyway) it seems there isn't a lot on the horizon.

 

Julia and I have been talking by PM.  I'm going to put some Batarian stuff in.  of the concerns I have, one is still that the action is dependent on all the writers from the infiltration team, pluss RB writing jess.

 

The assault team doesn;t really have anything to do but wait until something happens.

 

So, here it goes.  Essul made a decision with which way to go, I'm going to write up a description of what is down that way and hopefully it goes from there.

The thing is, during the weekend, you can't wait for me. There are a couple of exceptions like when I was doing the Medusa thing but at least for this weekend, my availablity might be pretty low.  I'll do what I can, but if people want to take over description, I think its just better if they run it by here first to make sure it is generally okay and then post.  Or post and be willing to correct.

I will try to write something tomorrow. I don't know if I will be online or rather able to get online. We are expecting high winds here tomorrow in the neighborhood of 40 mph with gusts over 50 and that means I could lose power. If that happens, I'm screwed. And it's cold as hell, too. So.... Note to Frank about the wireless detonators - that was the easy one. Look further at the bomb site you're at. There's a backup in there and it's more complex. Frank's going to go "the fu....." He'll be glad for the a/c unit in his suit. You have three chances to disarm this thing.

I'd say yes.  

 

One bomb is diffused.  But if the hostage takers are going to be knocked out rapidly, the infiltration team, and probably a lot of the assault team, is going to have to keep moving.  Diffusing bombs takes time, so I'd say the explosives experts might have to be left with a guard (or another expert) to diffuse while teams move on.

My doctor needs to contact the doctor who did the foot surgery - for f*cks sake the guy is retired now. Arrrgh!!!! Remind me to lie the next time and just say my foot hurts. No, they want to see you to say. "Hmmm... your foot hurts. Take Ibuprofen for it. Oh, that's right you shouldn't. Go see a podiatrist. Now pay me money for telling you to see the doctor you wanted to see in the first place."

So it's going to be until February until I can get this f***ing thing looked at. Meanwhile I get to put up with calf cramps and sh*t while I walk.

 

So I'm in the mood for shooting stuff. Not being nice.

I also want to mention that while Iraqi coms and systems were disrupted during the Iraq war in 2003, US coms were not. This should be a similar situation. That was what was intended anyway instead of having Naleena stand there making an ass of herself trying to talk to Jess.

Thanks, I have to call them tomorrow again. I had a phone message when I got home and it seems they messed up yet again. They sent the referral for a doctor who is NOT in my medical group which means that it will cost more money, and I will need an authorization from the insurance who will reject it.

 

I think I'm going to make my own orthotics. Buy some inserts and some moleskin and build them up until they feel right. Trial and error.

 

I've also done my own stitches, and later used superglue on deep gashes instead of going to the ER. Saved a bundle of money that way. Just clean out the wounds well, then make sure things are sterile and close them. Done.
