This has been a really quiet story as of late and I am kind of worried.  Those who have kept it going (including you fh) get my applause.

 

Mira is an easy include.  I'll put something up with her regarding Avan. 

 

I also have to check in with Ghostly Sentinel.

 

But the action...let's keep it moving, okay?  Hostages, easy, we can do this.  No complicated plots here...well not as complicated at least.  @RedBelle...I'm going to be assuming Anika is giving orders.  @the Infiltration team:  Assault doesn't want to wait.  We're gonna do stuff.

I, too, am getting a bit worried about this. What's wrong? Is it the story? I don't think so. Are people simply very busy?

 

The plot line was reviewed by a dozen very active members on BSN and it got a thumbs up. This is not simple craziness but a structured storyline. Caleston is one mission in it. This mission is not supposed to take this long. I've been waiting for participation, and if I'm not going to get any, I'll just write the damned thing and end it with a mission failure. No character deaths, just a mission failure.

 

@Hook - The reason Avan was put on the Assault Team and in the back was this: "I'm feeling out of it." Sorry, but I was role playing Naleena who had to make a choice of assignments. Your character was switched with Williams at the last minute. If Avan is feeling better, make a post to tell Naleena "I'm feeling better," and she'll move you up to Infiltration where he'll be in his element. I don't want to be controlling all of the action, trust me. I really don't. I'd like to get to know Avan better. I'll leave the Williams - Essul dynamic, but why don't you move up with Naleena and Eteon?

For the past 3 weeks, I have been hit with what can only be described as a tidalwave of academia. I've had a 5 page paper on third parties, an article response to khrushev visiting the US, another 5 page paper on primary elections, a 6 page midterm on the cold war, a 6 page disseration on plato, and this week I have another 5 page paper on campaign finance due, a rough draft for a 12 page paper on the "noble lie" philosophical concept, and a 6 page book report on sputnik, all due before thanksgiving. Also preparing for winter which has already descended upon me, and other personal stuff with my family.

 

Busy and with little time to rp has been the best way I could describe my circumstance.

Thanks JB. I understand your predicament all too well. I am trying to keep everyone's characters involved, and I'm also trying to keep the plot moving. It's a delicate balancing act. Non-moving RPs die.

 

And the holidays are approaching... sigh... which for me means nothing because my family is either living thousands of miles away or dead.

 

So Hook has indicated that he's feeling left out. I really want him more involved, so we're good there. JB wants to be more involved but is really being crunched. I can assume the RB has had some real life stuff going on. Kel and I have been active. Terca is probably busy again. We're looking for Ghostly and Maj0nese. Cnarf has been active - I want to give Frank something more to do, and I have an entire adventure for Frank - Cnarf, it's a riot.

 

How should I handle this situation? Should I give an action post a day and if there's no response ghost the affected character according to how the person played them in the past? I've been told I'm a good character writer FWIW.

All the commandos were on the assault team I thought, but they've been moved around.  Iole ended up on point, somewhere along the way.

I have been a little busy at work. Things are picking up, as they always do this time of year, and it's only going to get busier when people start getting their taxes back. It's nice, because when I'm moving inventory, I get to eat something than other than ramen noodles once in awhile. Woo hoo! Mac and cheese! Kraft Mac and Cheese, too. None of that generic BS. Look at this f*ckin' high roller over here.

 

I think the story is fine and all, but to be honest, I find the missions to be a little tedious. A holy sh*t ton of planning, followed by a confused, messy execution.  We get there, then I feel like 'now what?'. I'm hesitant to post anything, because I feel like there'd be a problem with it. Whether it be a sync issue, or a 'nope. It's actually like this.' issue.  So I say f*ck it, and post goofy sh*t, that doesn't affect anything. Can't go wrong there, right?

  

It probably doesn't help that we're going straight up ME2 on it with all these characters, either. As mentioned above, getting things sync'd up can be a gigantic pain in the ass. I don't know about you guys, but I have a hard time keeping track sometimes. Don't get me wrong, I love all of our peeps, but maybe we don't have to send everyone at the same time?  And when we do, why over think it? There's what, like thirteen people on this particular job? Most of them are powerful biotics, the rest are either ex-military, or have at least some combat experience. Let's just kick some ass and call it a day. Shoot ALL the terrorists in the face!

 

One last thing.  I get that the Collectors/Reapers are a big deal, but even Commander Shepard had a little extra time to stop and probe Uranus, if you know what I mean. Really, Commander?  I think the most fun I've had has been in-between missions, especially the Citadel.  Got a little more freedom to move around, you know?

Look, Frank has tech skills, and they're useful. He can use overload and cause enemy weapons to overheat. He can use thermal attacks. He can use his rifle. He's wearing heavy armor.

 

And to everyone: the Batarian leader Osarem has plot armor until a certain point which I've discussed with JB.

Sorry guys, this mission had dragged on too long. It needed to end so I just wrote it. Next mission will be a lot simpler and not military.
