Frank needs to understand these simple rules:

 

* Obey the law. Laws are there for a reason, and you would just use common sense you will probably avoid doing things that would land your ass in jail 90% of the time. If your friend says to you, "Man, I wouldn't do that sh*t if I was you." it's probably one of those things.

* Use common sense. Police probably won't bother you if you just use common sense.

* If you see flashing lights behing you stop immediately.

* If you have loud rap music playing, turn that sh*t off.

* Be polite - "Is something wrong officer?"

 

Going for a ride with a friend? Not so fast. Your friend might be crazy.

 

Remember Frank, we know from watching Rodney King, that if you run from the police, you're askin' for an ass kickin' whippin'....

 

Unless you're Naleena who can flash her Spectre badge.

I will say though, that's one helluva quick response time.  'Round here it's like 20 minutes at least.

They haven't drawn their guns. They're just ready. You guys ran. It was a high speed chase. Kel posted there were several patrol cars involved.

Yeah, okay, the car's stolen.  Still, I find it odd that a vehicle registered on Illium, would even be recognized as stolen on a different planet, in a different system.

 

 Imagine the loads and loads of information plugging up police databases if every time a car was stolen, an alert went galaxy-freakin' wide.

 

Cops would look at it and be like, 'Yeah, Illium, okay. I'm not dealing with paperwork over this sh*t, it's all the way from the Terminus Systems. I don't even have access to those records.'

 

Sooooo...

 

We're gonna roll with it.

 

Also, we weren't running. The throttle stuck.

But they don't know that the throttle was stuck at this moment.

 

I looked back, and you said you bought the car on Illium. So was it stolen on Illium? Frank just fessed up. Bought stolen property. You know how it is as we get more and more networked. They won't have you tagged as stolen right now, but downtown, when they check out your story about the throttle - they'll have their techs go over the car while you're waiting - and I'll let you determine if it pops as stolen or not when they do a routine database check on the vehicle.

 

You'll have to get a mechanic out to fix the throttle before you can drive it out of there, and certify that everything is okay. Meanwhile if you do any shopping it'll have to be by taxi. Your vehicle will be impounded until that mechanic gets done. And you'd better hurry and get someone out there, otherwise those impound fees will add up if you have to leave the car there.

In a private conversation between Frank and Faed, aboard the Janiri, Frank mentioned that the car was picked up on Illium. (Same car from Jess/Anika's bit. Sorry Jess.) There were not Caleston police on the Janiri eavesdropping.

 

I was attempting to have a good time, maybe have everyone try and bullsh*t their way out of it.  Whether or not it worked, would be completely up to the authors of the characters involved. That is, Faed, Frank, and Eteon.  None of which are yours.

 

This is totally not my style, as I am about as non-confrontational as they come, but Jules, you're going to have to just....

Y'know, as this is an RP, there can be silly things that happen without there being major repercussions, should you just let it happen. It's part of the fun of an RP. This could get silly without getting painful.

Seriously, I've been laughing at this whole thing. I think it's great. A little silliness thrown in like this is good, and is perfectly in keeping in character. 

 

You guys created the cops in your own post. I had nothing to do with them. Remember that. I'm joking around here in the OOC thread. This caper is yours.

 

I thought I'd throw in a little LA cop overreaction. There's already been a precedent for it when Naleena took off running with Faed in a stolen vehicle, got told to get out of the car, hands where they could see them, and she flashed her Spectre badge.

 

Just have some fun guys. I need to laugh.
