Urghhh. I stripped a bench and wired the rust off it yesterday. Took all day to do one panel plus painting. Aaaand I caught the sun..... Still, one down, two panels to go.

Do you guys think I should post more stuff with Machaera and his crew, or leave their planning and machinations in the shadows and spring it on as a surprise?

Well?...I was wondering out loud to Julia if some public part of our various plots should be related.  I was going to send a PM to RedBelle, Julia and you, then I realized that was like sending a private message to 2/3 of the players here.  I don't mind having seperate, private plots, and then there's a risk, though, that we sort of step on each other's toed, or one plot dominates and another doesn't get enough attention.  Worse, certain characters get more attention and certain others less.  This is the tough part of a 'multi GM' rpg for me, but maybe your question comes at the perfect time.

I'd offer comments on other plots and stuff, but all of that organization bullshit is not my bag.  I'm confident that all of you guys can figure something out.

With everyone running off on their own, and JB and I seem to be the only two left on the Janiri, I start feeling like I'm soloing this huge plot. What I feel we need to do is try to weave everything together. It isn't impossible. I really want to have each character have their own story arc. That is extremely important. Without that, there isn't any point to the story. Stories are about people, how they're shaped by the people and events around them, and how they shape the events and people around them. Your character's story arc does not end with their mission. It doesn't end when they get what they want. Have you noticed that in your own life that when you get what you want that there is always something else? Let's come up with something.

 

I'd like to see Machaera woven into the main plot. The guy is a real bad ass, and he's someone I really need. So don't go wasting him somewhere. Basically he gets to die when I say he gets to die and that's not for a long time. You could have him bust his buddy Balak out of Alliance prison. I'll allow that. Balak is higher rank but less than Machaera on badassness. IOW Balak dies first. He's a great character and he fits well.

 

Our next mission is on Erszbat in the Vular system in Kite's Nest. We're headed into Batarian Space. Machaera seems to be out of action for a bit. Probably shouldn't be there. Major bosses like him you want to show a little at a time. Or if he is there it should be for an inspection and he should leave.

 

Honestly I don't know how the Medusa will slip into the Batarian systems. It's difficult for this part. She'll be able to help with the final action with Vayne in Act 1, but I'll have to leave that up to Vayne to plead his case with Jess to help. Perhaps, "I helped you take back your ship, now you return the favor and help me."

 

I really don't want to give the whole plot away but there's stuff coming up that will bring the Medusa into action.

 

Iyana: this plot is pretty much tied together with the Medusa. However, I mentioned to Kel last night about tying Naleena to Iyana through Xhuan. How to do this is another matter, and it may require a little character history writing. The two characters are nearly the same age. Naleena is 25 years older.

Aaaaand I'm all caught up.  Mostly. On page 179 still, but I've got some more crap to do today, so I'll have to finish later.

 

Ren'Danna creeps me out. Scalpels and sh*t, and just like, that weird, kinda mad scientist-y doctor vibe I'm getting from her.

 

 

As for no one being on the Janiri, I'll get another character ready.  I've got like, the basic of basics outlined right now, no history or anything, but I think I'll post in the character thread anyways. Ugh. History.
