Oh gosh, I think Shotgun Julia has a character who was originally ignorant and grew through an RP's course. (My tumblr muse is exactly like that, though, still quite ignorant even with maturity, haha.) I HATE ignorant characters but I usually love them at the same time, haha.
You definitely should take her out for a spin, though.
And I don't think there are any rules in any of the currently-running RPs (Aka our's haha) against reusing chars so go for it!

Also, in the process of making that other character I was talking about. She won't be a Quarian, rather, a fabulous Human. (I'm totally not drawing inspiration from Vivienne, nope, not at all.)

Well I guess I am somewhat organizing Chasing Spectres and I have no rules against it so you're free from my ire (as if I truly have any ire for people in the first place
) feel free to use Naleena. And Flare, for some reason your statement about taking inspiration from someone named 'Vivienne' has me suspicious and fearful. At least stasis will be easier ![]()

I FEEL THAT YOU DON'T KNOW WHO VIVIENNE IS. DO YOU NOT KNOW OF DRAGON AGE: INQUISITION'S MOST ANTICIPATED CHARACTER? WHO WILL SOON BE KNOWN AS THE MOST FABULOUS BIOWARE CHARACTER IN EXISTENCE? WHO IS THE QUEEN OF ALL THINGS HOLY AND GrACIOUS?

I have never played a DA game, I've only played the Mass Effect games. So I have no idea who Vivienne is.

You must play Dragon Age, ohmygod. It's so good, imo. But Vivienne is a new character who will be in the upcoming game. She's an elven mage and so very fabulous.![]()

... I will... Look forward? Look forward to the human you make which emulates this Vivienne.

My second character is finished! Please take a look! I'll also be checking out your latest post, yo.

I will definitely take a look. For now putting chars near/around (by that I mean within a relay jump) of Illium would be nice to do this quickly and in case there are delays. There is no specific rush though and no necessity to it, if your character belongs elsewhere by all means put them there.

I just sent you a message about both of my characters, haha. But one can actually be on Illium. This setting you guys chose is surprisingly fitting

Replied, as you already saw. Illium is useful because there are legitimate reasons to be there and really shady reasons to be there

It works for me.

It's not like she's ignorant. It's that she cold-hearted and ruthless during this phase of her life. She didn't become "enlightened" until the reaper invasion. She's a dark version of Thane + Kasumi with a smattering of Samara.

Well I think we'll get to see her in a different light then. This is back when the Collectors themselves still seemed to be a myth, let alone the Reapers. The timeframe of this RP as I have it planned is that we are coming in about halfway through Shepards actions. The Collectors are still around but Cerberus doesn't have all the pieces yet. By the end of the RP it will be post-ME2 and during the time TIM sends the Cerb ships into the Collector base. If/when we do an ME3-era RP chars will change towards that of course and reusing chars could be interesting to see the changes.

Continuation makes me squeal.

Whoa there, we still need to get through CS first and we've barely started that yet. I'm sure we'll get to that point but time is quite the factor.

Oh, I know, haha. Still, continuation makes me sQUEAL.

Alright... Flare, you want to get to bed, right? If that is so I can have Deidrus send the Asari back to order things from requisitions that she might need for the ship. If you are staying up, Julia, do you want to do your Recruitment mission now?

I was actually going to announce my fabulous exit off to bed. Haha, that works out fine. Please mention her scurrying off to the ship, muttering to herself, if you do that please.
Anyways, I AM goin' to bed, as it's like 3:30 AM here. See y'all tomorrow!

Ah, a Central Time Zone-er. Well, g'night then! I'll ghost her off and onto the ship. We can continue tomorrow without a time skip.

I do have a comment on the Ardat Yakshi thing.... in ME2 the condition was almost unknown. There were only 3 known Ardat Yakshi in the galaxy. Then in ME3 we find out that the condition affects 1% of the Asari population. It doesn't say pureblood population. It says population. Apparently not all of them are like Morinth, Rila, and Falare, however. There seems to be a lesser manifestation called a "medical condition." On Thessia alone that's 60 million people. They cannot confine all of them to the monastery. And the Asari aren't going to set up death camps for them.
Since it is a genetic disorder, one would logically think that they would be able to test for the gene that causes it, unless the Asari still haven't mapped their own genome, which I would find extremely hard to believe. They should be able to test for the gene in utero and determine if the child of a pureblood mating is going to manifest the gene or not. I do know a little bit about genetics.
Soon the forensics are going to be able to tell us what a person looks like from a single strand of hair, did you know that, and this is only 2014. The Asari have been space faring for over 2500 years. They aren't a religious race, and those who do practice a religion practice Siarism which is "all is one." That is not going to inhibit scientific and medical advancement.
Hence, Bioware needed a mook generator for the Asari, and created the lesser version of AYS for ME3. My FF kind of ignores this and has a treatment available to diagnose and cures the condition in utero or after, but like everywhere else, there are people who think "it can't happen to us." i.e. there are dumb people among the Asari.
Also I find it interesting that the weapons of the MEU, except for the idea of infinite ammo
, seem to be about what we have today (except for the thanix) and Javik's weapon. It's old tech.
Okay, now I'll shut up.

It would make more sense for the AY thing to be affecting 1% of Purebloods as opposed to being 1% of all Asari. 1% of all Asari is such an astronomically high number of individuals that the condition would be much, much more prevalent and even if only a further 0.002% of AY had the lethal variant if it was based on 1% of all Asari there would be millions of Asari with the lethal melding. I think it would have to be 1% of purebloods as the purebloods themelves only representing maybe 2-3% of the Asari population. That would mean 0.03% would have the POTENTIAL for being AY as AY are Purebloods. If AY only represent 1% of purebloods (a highball estimate I'd say), that's 0.0003%, and if only the lethal variants need to be put in a temple and they represent 10% of AY, that's 0.00003% of individuals.
(5.5*10^9) * 0.00003 = 165 000 Asari on Thessia with the condition, something I think is much more likely. The probability of the lethal variant is probably much less because Samara, a Justicar, thought only her children had the lethal variant of the condition. Assuming she knew of the population of AY on Thessia with any form of the condition that's only 3 out of 1.65 million people with the explicitly lethal version of the condition, much lower than my estimation.
I could be off, and if I am it is around the number of Purebloods. Being a pureblood is something so prejudiced against that I doubt many Asari would actually be purebloods so I think it makes sense that there would be between 1-3% of Purebloods in the Asari population.
As for Banshees, they take anyone with latant AY abilities (so that entire 1.65 million) and use that to create Banshees. That means that on any colony with a large volume of purebloods (Thessia, any member of the Republics that are deep in Asari Space I guess or high population bases) would be able to get around 1 000 000 banshees, which is a lot for their biotic abilities.
Again, I come back to my argument (and we don't have to agree of course) that the fact that AY are not treated means that there is something within the Asari at youth which makes it impossible to detect in-utero. Very possibly the genetic issue is Epigenetic, and thus something that all Purebloods have the possibility of being triggered but only in a small amount that genetic trigger is actually activated, usually during the Maiden age. Because of that it would be pretty much impossible to prevent, only detect the possibility of happening. If it's not treated, I'd say the Asari are have their hands tied in some way. Which comes back to AY being used quietly as I can imagine the Republics would not simply leave the AY to rot. Stronger, faster, smarter they would be excellent Commandos/Scientists and would probably be employed as such after the Reaper war.
And there is not a lot of revolutionizing the technology of 'take item, make it fast, hit something with it'. Dynamics, it's hard to argue with.

I see more people came around. =) I suppose I need to check this more often. Anyway, nice to meet you all that I haven't met. Saw Shiara's post, so i don't know exactly where that puts us. So I'll wait to chime in so I don't step on someone's already in progress rp.

We have Flare's char now, and with Julia's we will have a squad. It makes more sense to have more chars before getting Kanae (in my head at least) because Kanae's recruitment will have some action to it which will be pretty sustained. If you want, I can edit so that Deidrus was writing off to Baladrum and you can reply as him and have a little bit of movement that way setting things up for later.
