Quick! Somebody bullshit an asari first name for me! Preferably a long, complicated one that will require a nickname in conversation. You'll have the honor of naming an extremely minor, disposable background character aboard the fabulous Vepr, who will likely be mentioned only in passing after a brief introduction. Unless I get really bored.

That's what I got from a random name generator: Tairamealisari

I guess the short name would be 'Taira'

If I go with my normal naming policy, I'm going to say:  Y'Sdamon

Which is a total bastardization of the greek name Desdemona, which happens to mean 'ill starred' :)

Okay, so we'll leave Anika in med-bay or on restricted duty for this one, and Jess will have the flu or something like that. Good luck RB.

Okay, Commander Morgan.

Yes, and thank you VERA for coming up with improvements to our equipment. Thank you for bailing out asses out of the fire the last time we were on Garvug by using Legion's old platform, and blasting that Batarian frigate with the shuttle cannon because you totally could have just let us all die if you wanted. -- Everyone but Jenus.

Mass Effect Trivia - I just found out that Commander Selani shares the same name as the Quarian Ship, the Selani, from whom Anora'Vanya vas Selani  was found guilty of treason. Perhaps the Selani was an Asari ship purchased by the Migrant Fleet at some point? Perhaps Commander Selani comes from a line of ship builders? Hmmm....

Way to stay true to the character, Kel. I appreciate that.

While I'd like to think that my own people have distinct personalities, I can't help but feel they sorta bleed into each other on occasion. Maybe it's just me, I dunno.

Anyways, f-f-f-filla. Fillaaaaaaaaaaaah!

So I got distracted playing bloodborne today, after a bit of a mishap at work made it hard to concentrate on writing ((Pulled 2 muscle cords in my back. Not fun.)). For those of you who don't know, Bloodborne is a game where you play a hunter, whose job it is to kill monsters and basically can never be killed, because of the power of determination being cursed with immortality to come back after each death. It's hard, but fun, and also fair, and I've been having a blast getting gud while dying a lot.

Well, there's a dlc that came out, The Old Hunters. Really hard, designed mostly for new game plus players and such. I was playing, and ran into a cave full of strong enemies, including a boss from a previous part of the game, and saw an item and picked it up. The item turned out to be a new weapon; A really weird, and really fun, new weapon.

Now, the weapons in bloodborne are one of the coolest things in the game. They're called trick weapons, basically melee weapons that turn into other weapons. For example you got a cane that turns into a blade-whip, a spear that turns into a shotgun, a sword you shove into a slab of stone on your back to make a hammer, all kinds of great and crazy stuff. I love all of them, and if I could without breaking all sense of logic, I'd have shoved a few into this rp in a heartbeat.

Now that brings me to the cool weapon I found, which is a weird one even for this game. Because it's not so much a weapon, as it is a trophy.

It's called the amygdalan arm. It's a club, that when you hit the transform button on it, turns into a bladed spinning tentacle, that smashes anything I hit into the ground and proceeds to chop it to pieces on its own. :P Why is it called the amygdalan arm though? Well, here's the description for the weapon from the game itself,

"The arm of a small Amygdala Great One. Strictly speaking, the Amygdalan Arm is no trick weapon of any sort, but certain madmen wield them like clubs. Starts as a large, tough blunt weapon formed of bone, but when extended, the hand quivers as if it were still alive. "

Imagine if you tore off a praetorian's leg, and started swinging it around like a morning star, and the leg could shoot out laser beams for some reason. That's this weapon in a nutshell. :P I love this ****** game.

Quit trying to make me buy a PS4, bro.

I won't have the cash for one of them for another few weeks.

Hah, well a PS4 is pretty swank, just sayin'

Also yeah, I mean, I try to stick to my plan of 3 traits that make the character unique and sticking with them, unless the story demands change, but then I recreate the foundation of the 3 traits and stick to that.  It helps with multiple characters.  Jenus is a problem causer, really, but you can understand her if you get her background, which of course has also been developed as the story goes.  I mean, you should meet her parents :) They aren't worse versions of her, they're just, well, so an asari and a volus get together, and well...we'll see.  I actually came up with an idea of each of the Commandos parentage because it got to be kind of entertaining.  :)

With and only with RB's permission, I'm going to keep the Medusa going.  It will stay true to the spirit of who created it, so don't expect it to start looking or acting different or anything like that :)  I want RB to come back you know, not look in horror at all the creations.

:o Ye got a PS4 Jens? And bloodborne?? I'd ask if you wanted to play together but if you're on NG+ right now I'd get crushed by a fly. Happy hunting, man.

I am not on new game plus. I literally could not kill most of what was inside thst dlc starting area. I think I'm level 30-something.

I literally ran for my life and kept dying over and over. It was funny since I had a skill build initially. But now I've gone into strength as well, and levelling is getting kinda ridiculously hard to grind to. :P

Heck, I'm kinda ashamed to say it, but the only reason I've gotten so far, is thst I always spend my insight to call in players, to help me take on bosses.

Well I can totally help you with that. There are some really good places to grind EXP around there when you have defeated Vicar Amelia. I can show you the way!

Damn, I can't afford a PS4, so playing Bloodborne will be a nothing more than a pipe-dream for now...guess I'll just have to play some more Dark Souls.

But honestly, I never liked the coop part of Dark Souls/Bloodborne. I mean, sure, summoning other players to help you against a difficult boss accelerates things but for me it was always a great feeling to beat the seemingly invincible enemy all by myself. This rush of endorphines makes you forget the last two hours of struggle and pain...Besides, in coop your damage is halved so it might take even longer to take down a boss with a coop partner than doing it alone.

That's what I love so much about these games. As well as the gameplay. And the art design. Especially the monsters. And weapons. And armor. And the soundtrack. And everything else I forgot to mention.

Oh, and I will post later, yay...

XBox One for me. I've been on XBox Live for 9 years. I need to buy tires before I buy anything else.

I'd buy tires if I didn't have a different car every other week...

Click to drop panties

Spoiler

I first had a PS3, but ended up with a 360 because you can't play Forza on a Playstation. My PS3 took a dump shortly afterwards, so it's more or less been Xbox ever since for me.

The 'Bone is alright, I guess, aside from the whole 'always being a slow turd' thing. I shouldn't have to look at a screen that says 'signing you in' for two solid minutes every time I turn it on, you know? God damn.
