Well, now that I have Arian ready to leave the ship and do something else, it's time to introduce my 'new' character that's still somewhere on Omega. That one's pretty much the complete opposite of the silent turian in almost every way possible. I felt like I needed some change from writing this turian and I think I could write quite a lot with the new character. I will post the character sheet either later or tomorrow, depending on how late it will be.

Suppose I could. If there's anyone I feel like writing, it's her.

I'll get bored of the Division here in a bit. It gets old shooting people in the face twice with a sniper rifle, just to have them bludgeon you to death with a bat anyways lol. Sh*t, man.

It's not all bad, though. Garrus  Brandon Keener voices your little computer guy. Neat.

ETA:

Not going to lie, I'm sad to see the old grump leave. Still, I get how you feel, writing kind of a brick-type fellow. I considered going the same way with my guy in Stormhammer on more than one occasion.

Narf, there are ways you can work her into our story, too. Like there's a Spectre that's in the shape of a pretzel at the moment. You mentioned that this is sort of an urgent mission to me over Xbox Live the other night. The Council is kind of tired of paying Dalliax for doing nothing, so why don't they put her on the hunt for Xanthe?

If you get her active, I may even bring that handsome fellow back into the story and get him assigned to her ship to keep an eye on her. You know make sure she's not slacking. He's a bloody idealist. The two should get along famously.

And honestly that's why I didn't pick up The Division. I played the Beta. The enemies are bullet sponges. Unarmored enemies with baseball bats can take a magazine from an MP5 in the face and still beat you to death.

Been sorta waitin' on that, actually.

That's all you, Kel. I know I've asked before, but is that something you wanna do soon, or nah? Still a thing? I don't wanna just be like "Yo, I suddenly kicked off your storyline lol, deal with it."

I can bullshit a post real quick, if necessary, even. Or I can start pulling mad filler out of my ass, like the old days.

I'd prefer the former, since that'll bump me back towards interaction with others, instead of...

I'm having a really hard time with this lost post thing and I'm telling you, I'm pretty infuriated over it.  I'd be mad if I made a mistake myself, like not copying it and typing it raw, but this not being able to copy or paste is really really burning me and I am not good about it.

Losing a large post is infuriating, and I get it. I get that it is especially infuriating when you have no workaround. How about breaking up the longer post into two or three shorter posts labeling them Pt 1, Pt 2, and Pt3? That way if you lose the short post of three paragraphs, it's much easier to reconstruct?

Can you copy out of IE onto Notepad so you can rewrite back into IE? You should be able to do this otherwise there is something wrong with your computer.

It's what I did to cheese my way through essays and writing assignments write my college assignments on the go or on my off time so that It'd save what I wrote to print out later.

Did I say that I absolutely hate the first three weeks of Daylight Savings Time?

The entire nation walks around sleep deprived for a while. Now don't get me wrong I love the extra daylight in the evening, and the extra hour of darkness in the morning because up here, that hour of darkness does make a difference when the sun comes blasting in your window at 5:00 a.m. in standard time. But it's those first three weeks when we go from grande to three grandes just to stay awake and still feel like the walking dead for the entire day. Our bodies don't like to go to sleep even though it's past our bedtime by the clock and we're tired from dragging our asses through the day.

This said, I'll get something up so we can finish this chapter and decide what's going to happen next.

Jen had an idea. Since Kel has been having difficulties with this site using Internet Exploder, if we have interest in continuing this this story to its conclusion, why don't we move this over to the FanFiction RP site. We already have a thread where we were archiving stuff.

https://www.fanficti...hasing-Spectres

I already have an account over there. It's easy to set up an account if you don't have one. Cnarf has one and Jen has one as well. We don't have to worry about BioWare Moderators locking us out for days, either. We just have to abide by their posting rules which is basically no foul language and no pr0n in the posts.

But since this will be a major undertaking to archive everything I want to make sure that we have a commitment from the writers that are left for about another year. The Archive is done through August 2015. It would need to be brought up to date, and due to the format of the archive we should set up our own forum over there to use -- something that pages since the archive doesn't.

That forum might be more IE friendly. I don't know, though. I haven't tested it.

Kel, you might want to make an account and test it with some a post or two to a general forum and let us know before we go to all the work.

Wow, it's been a while since I last was on that page and it looks completely different than how I remembered it. Personally I don't like the forum's layout and design but I guess it would be better than nothing in case Kel can't find a solution for his issue with the Bioware forum.

The only reason I stopped archiving, a daunting sumbitchin task, is because I started cramming like, whole pages into individual posts, to the point where it was like 'lol u broke the page yo.'

Probably would have had a good amount done if it wasn't for that.

My one gripe about the Ff site is the formatting or whatever is like' garbage or something. And I can never seem to find out how to search individual threads.

If y'all wanna begin moving, if be happy to help. I'm probably going to have to go through and delete my previous postings on the FF place before we can begin lol. Pain in the ass editing out the extra garbage text while copy and pastin, let me tell ya.

If it gets Kel back in the game, I'm all for it. BSN can't last forever, either. At least things would be a bit more permanent over in FF.

I've got a doc with some stuff too, I forget how far I've saved. Sorry if this message looks weird. Mobile stuff.

The thing is that that particular place where we have Chasing Spectres archived for some reason is not paging, but other forums do.

For example: Aria's Afterlife: Behind Enemy Lines formats beautifully.

So what I suggest we do is put our stuff from here over there as an Archive. And start Chasing Spectres Part II. I'd like to see our working copy format like Aria's Afterlife.

Let's discuss this and make our decision over the weekend. Does that sound okay to everyone? Kel will need to try out the forum at work tomorrow.

I can change the forum name. Not sure about formatting. Anyone have a suggestion for a better name? I don't want ours confused with the other afterlife.

Ha. Back in fall of '14 or so, I was dickin' around over at Aria's, you know, along with my normal dickin' here. The RP sorta petered out. Made me sad, 'cause out of all the poop emerged an interesting character or two. The current deal has been running since last August. I haven't bothered to read any of it, although, I have threatened to join very recently. I honestly doubt my involvement will go any farther than it has.

Aaaaaanyways, by formatting, maybe I meant like, their post editor or something.  Garbage, I say! That's just how it is for the whole site. Nothing wrong with how our backup area is set up at all. Except for how I overloaded the thread with mega-sized posts. I might go over there and nuke it, to start fresh.

Names? Flip a coin, son.

ETA: Maybe it was an issue on my end, I was able to post a little line of text. I'll see how much it'll let me do again. Maybe I'll stick to two posts per... post. Instead of like, ten.

How about "Elsewhere in the Galaxy"; or "While Shepard Was In Prison"; or "Back In Black"***

OH, you're talking about the MAIN FORUM title.... Ah Yes, 'Reapers.'

OR: Eternity Lounge == this was Matriarch Aethyta's place in ME2. Rule #1 - Beating customers with their spines is bad for business. Rule #2 - No sex, I just cleaned the bar.

Set it up like this Aria's Afterlife

Then have Eternity Lounge/Chasing Spectres Part I - and after all the content is transferred lock it.

For our working copy Eternity Lounge/Chasing Spectres Part II

Create sub forums Eternity Lounge/Chasing Spectres: Characters; Eternity Lounge/ Chasing Spectres OOC Discussion

*** j/k but given the 1980s action movie excesses I've done with my Spectre.....

Okay, just for some clarification on the FanFiction site. There are no problems with the copy and paste, but I need to point out there is a definition of Suitable for Teens. This means T-Rating.

Teen Rating = Suitable for teens, 13 years and older, with some violence, minor coarse language, and minor suggestive adult themes.

From what I've understood, the "some violence" means that it doesn't get too graphic and dominate the story. What is passing here will pass there. As far as coarse language, there are fewer restrictions than here - just not like Game of Thrones or Deadwood. You can say s***, f***, and stuff like that but only once in a while. In other words, keep foul language strategically placed, not every other word. Adult themes: no graphic sex.

I control the filters and currrently have it set to "none". Cause screw those personally. I've been in rps on fanfiction for a while. they get pretty damn saucey with a lot of moderation seemingly minimal. Still, behave yourselves. XD

Anyway, found a workaround for page 10, and what the problem was. Hyperlinks in the posts **** with the posting, so we gotta watch for any links in these posts and remove them.

I'll be working on page 11 now.

^Excellent work^

I've used plenty of variants of f**k frequently here and over there, without issue. Even on this big 'ol site, nobody seems to care. Pretty sure we're like, the only people who even visit this area of BSN lol. Just imagine how isolated we'd be over there. I think we'll be alright.

I think I started doing the 'copy as plain text' thing too at some point. Unless, that was in the doc. I'm not sure.

There's a little button on the left side of these forums, top page, that has two modes. "Regular View" and "Basic View". Should be under the page select section. Basic view is a lot easier to copy and paste.

I'm not going to stop work on its way but I'm not a fan, I think I've said, of that site much at all. The restrictions here are a pain and that site seems no better. Regardless there's copy/paste there. I just can't believe I have to put up with restrictions on this other website and am tired of censoring. What is the point of a writing site where you can't write anything?

Yeah! F**k 'em all! That's what I'm talkin' about, Kel. Let's start our own sh*t with no restrictions. Gratuitous violence and graphic sex scenes on the daily. Let's turn this b*tch loose.

I actually wouldn't be against shellin' out some cash to do so. I think about it occasionally. A small group like us, perhaps an occasional visitor, shouldn't need a whole lot to get a little thing running.  Then again, I know nothing about how that stuff works... Oh, well.

For now, though, I'll take the next couple pages for the move, if no one else is on it already.
