Oh, I know.  But won't they need to then get enough of it out for the Audron?

You mentioned robbing trains.  That was you! ;)

Naleena and Anika are going to look for Silaris armor.

Asari-made Silaris armor can resist even the tremendous heat and kinetic energy of starship weapons. The armor is nearly unsurpassed in strength because its central material, carbon nanotube sheets woven with diamond Chemical Vapor Deposition, are crushed by mass effect fields into super-dense layers able to withstand extreme temperatures. That process also compensates for diamond's brittleness.

Diamond armor itself has two limiting disadvantages. First, while nanotubes and CVD-diamond construction have become cheaper in recent years, it remains prohibitively expensive to coat starships or aircraft larger than fighters in Silaris material. Second, the armor must be attached to the ship's superstructure, so shock waves from massive firepower can still destroy the metals beneath the armor itself.

A popular misconception holds that the diamond composition of Silaris armor gives it a sparkle. In fact, atmospheric nitrogen impurities during the super-hot forging process give the armor a metallic gray or yellow sheen.

I figure we can have folks going about these side quests, then raise the party on comms and pull together a posse to do the job.

I think everyone would want to get involved in robbing a train, mainly becuase it's.... well..... robbing a train.

I'd suggest thinking about what kind of security the train has.

Armoured outer hull. Asari commando's. How the Mass Rail drives work. What each end of the line has to support an attack on the train. How the train repels bandits..... etc. These are all things that will need to be overcome, either before or during the attack. And done so in a way that doensn't raise alarm while allowing the encounter to be a nail biting ride.

Also..... The Audron. If we used the ship we'd have to blind sensors while having an excuse as to why it was gone when a train was robbed. Do we use it to airlift a train car away or do we transport the goods out and into the Audron? Then if it flies back  to town how do we pretend we didn't do it? There's one mean sheriff in these here parts and Spectre or no Spectre..... He'll want his answers.

In other words.... how do we plan the perfect crime?

I say we all watch the episode "train job" of firefly, and base it off that. :P Only with less things going well and more call of duty style shooting our way out.

I'll be having vayne look for ways to resupply the ship, maybe uncover some oddities to help us along with the story. Anyone want to come with?

Just trying to get an idea of where character's will be heading to. Jess and Morgan will be heading over to the DA place.

Naleena and Anika will be heading over to look for Silas armour. Is Dahlia floating in the wind?

Vayne's off to scout out and locate supplies. I'd like to send another player off on the hunt if we have one. Otherwise I might hand Anika over to SGJ for the time being and bring out one of our backseat character's.

We have two player's who have gone away who controlled the good ships doctor and our Quarian Q...... (Make sense on so many levels..... Q..... Heh!)

Deidrus has said he'll be back so I wouldn't use him. Otherwise we have Eteon and Aelias and....... anyone else?

*drums fingers on the table*

What to do with awesome fiction that might press the bounds of the forum here?   It's a crime to have to censor....

Anyway, there's a way to fly the Audron out unnoticed.  Well unnoticed as to its destination.  The time it leaves and arrives back needs some cushion, however, just because its gone isn't proof...not that it needs proof for a tyranical judge.  What is important is for people to not know where it has gone.  There are ways to take care of that....it often helps to have a scapegoat...

@Julia:  I know you love asari.  This can happen without any casualties.  Though there might be some fisticuffs.  Can you handle incapacitating one of your own?

Can ya?

Remember, RedBelle said hijack.  You corrected with 'robbery'  I blame what happened next with my imagination on you.  You want to do this, you know it!

If we go with Asari commando's on the train then it's possible someone will get hurt.....

Although, I rather looked forward to Naleena pulling the trains details of defence and finding ways for herself and her young protege finding ways around them.

The Train goes back and forth between the town and the fabrication centre. When it does it has commando's on board. When in the fab centre it's untouchable because it's behind high security. When it's travelling it's got high security because of it's cargo. When it's being unloaded it has security that steps down after the Silas armour is gone becasue then it's not so high profile a target being just a train......

But what if someone planned ahead and got aboard then to prepare for the next time it travels back to town with a full cargo?

Hehehe....

It's like Where Eagle's Dare as they set C4 explosives at the beginning of the film that you forget about till they blow them to block the roads access. Commando's? A paralsying agent in the air filters that can be triggered on command would do the job. But if the trains shielded the person would have to be on top of it for the signal to reach with a signal booster.....

It's a train, right?  With cars, right?  I want to save the rest for what Morgan recommends...

You know, when he becomes available to talk again...

Okay, so how about we somehow get some people onto this train initially, small squad of 3 or so. Since lifting a car might be a bit too hard and conspicous, we'll need to unload the cargo on the train instead. ****** with the trains sensors should be the main goal, disabling its ability to detect approaching vehicles so the Audron, or small ship if we want to really avoid detection, can go above the train.

We get the three man squad to the cargo train car, and we use mass effect generators to reduce the mass of the loads, making them as light as possible. The team flying above and get close to the trains speed and have someone come from the roof, and cut a hole in it, maybe use the emergency escape hatch. Pass the cargo up to that guy, who bundles them together, and gets pulled into the ship via some sort of cable line probably, maybe something more high tech then that. We can lower a line for the others to use to escape as well.

Everyone gets pulled out of the train, we speed off away from the track, and hide out somewhere in the planets wildside to avoid getting flagged.

Naturally if you or your team get caught or killed Deidrus will disavow any knowledge of your actions. This message will self destruct in five seconds.

Okay, since the plans are being meta discussed, here will be what Morgan proposes, basically...

First the Audron leaving the port.  There's an electronic difficulty and a visual one.  If one wants to disguise it leaving the port.  That isn't a problem if nobody cares that it leave, but certainly air traffic is an issue.

So that requires a hack of air traffic, probably not nearly as sophisticated, as say, on the Citadel.  Then there's the visual aspect.  That can be handled under cover of the night, or there could be a sort of deus ex with other kinds of weather screens, of which a planet like Duellos can realistically have more than one.

The train itself, barring anyone would be able to board incognito, would be a rapid strike.  The train would need to be scouted first, to determine as much as possible about timing and where the load would be.  When it comes to nabbing the load itself, whether a team that lands picks out a cargo car, or the car is known through recon, the Audron can intercept the train.  Presumably the team would run into resistance from the commandos but the best way to nab the cargo is to nab the entire car itself.  I would imagine the frigate could do that, with or without mass effect generators.  No generators, no hole cutting,  probably some decoupling, and mostly, do it before the entire team of commandoes on the train comes down on the team.  Fly away with everybody.

Knocked out commandos could be dropped off on the way, nice and safely.  It was all a dream!  Well until they get back.  None of them even sets foot on the Audron, maybe they don't even see it...if they do, what did they see exactly anyway?  A ship?  It was night, vision was obscured, etc. all.

More hacking would be needed to disable train detection and recording devices.  You know, so no evidence is on the train's computer.  Assumedly this would happen far enough from the base to avoid either detection or reinforcements.  The hack job can be done just before the decoupling, when the team lands.  Someone, you know, good with that sort of thing would do it.

Most importantly, STORY:  Intercepting the train at high speed, plus commando fight, plus taking the whole car away by air...that's a big stunt budget right there!  I don't know, but in my mind it looks awesome!

On return, keep in mind Duellos records have been messed with before, right?  Exactly when did the Audron leave and come back again? hmmn...

What do you all think?

I think we have the bear bones of what we want to do which is....

1. Scout out the Silas Armour and be refused access to it.

2. Decide we need it to defend the Audron agaisnt ship based collector weapons.

3. Investigate and assess the weakness of the train transport and decide that much armour would need the Audron. (Plus convincing the spectre we need to do this).

4. Conviniantly find a Duellos dust storm is approaching that will cause the town to batten down the hatches while covering some of their more sensitive sensor equipment.... Because much as I like mission impossible..... getting the Audron out is such a faff when there's good times to be had..... I'd rather take a free pass on that front. Maybe do some preliminary investigation and discover they'll be turning off the sensor's to protect them from the storm a the time a train is due to depart from the Asari fab plant. Plus it gives a reason for the Audron to go. They claim the Spectre doesn't want the ship in the storm so takes off elsewhere. If they ask about the dust blasting on the way back they can say they had an engine failure and had to ride the storm out.

5. Execute plan.

6. Slink back to the dock.... Act natural. Maybe have the Silas armour elsewhere in case they search the Audron.

Dahlia grew bored and, deciding to take things into her own hands, got up and headed for the stairs to the upper level. Behind her she heard Anika call out. "Remember! Don't stare"!

"I grew up on Omega". She called over her shoulder. Ascending she went for the door where she recognised Morgan and Jess's voices and pushing the door open a crack, peeked inside.

Within she saw the two ladies lying faceup draped over the bed with happy as could be expression's whle Morgan and Jess lay spooning on the bed. The room reeked with the stench of what had obviously transpired and calling out the two still concious looked over at her in exhaustion.

"By the Goddess"! Dahlia exclaimed in disbelief. "You were only gone two mintutes"!!!

I've got alot on this weekend but hope to have something done and out for tomorrow my time. Sry for the hiccup in content but......

Let's just say that Miss Priss and Miss Shiana have blown Morgan's mind. And Jess was there egging them on. And then the egg was drowned in suger..... And the suger became candy...... And Morgan ate the candy. And then Jess discovered the rolling pin and.......

Well, you get the idea.

That said I've been developing a bit of history that one of our new character's will have access to.

So, yes, there will be more.  I have some hobby tournament to go to, tonight and tomorrow but I will look to get something up between now and then.  It'll be a challenge.  In the meantime, surely there is behind the scenes work to do.
