@ Jensaarai - I hope you don't mind if I ghost a generic Krogan line once in a while just because I need a "straight man" to make a scene work. It won't ever be an extensive conversation. But this Irina - Krogan thing is just hilarious.

Nah its cool, just nothing too violent unless called for. Vaynes more mellow and controlled them that, the big softie.

I've got Vayne kind of like a Wrex without all that responsibility. And Irina isn't the least bit afraid of Krogan. Batsh** crazy is more like it, although I can't help but think that killing stuff with cutlery garners respect.

Sounds about near right, he's kinda given up on krogan being better then what they are and accepted it. He respects fighting spirits and determination, though not neccisarily cruelty. He wouldn't really fault irina for anything though, seeing as she's been stuck here in this "inhospitable" planet, and you gotta do what you gotta do to survive.

You know it's kind of like surviving on Tuchanka. It builds character.

I am dropping breadcrumbs in the story that people can follow and chase if they wish. I have idea's for what these breadcrumbs lead to, but if you want to decide to develop soem of the angles yourself, let the others know. Especially if they are intending on having their character follow the same thread.

So's you know.....

Samacen. Kinda Haiwaian who is Jeb's right hand man. He'll be available to talk to and control. He's in charge and won't bend his neck without a good reason.

The mines. A place under the compound. Believed mined out but are not. Jeb found something down there and moved it to the upper level of his ship. Continues to dig to find other artefacts and to make room for the faithful.

The upper level of the mining ship....... Ever seen the Eden Project's tropical biome? You can google it and it appeared in a bond movie once. A little piece of vegetation on a barren land that is used to create usable biomass to spread around outside for growing.

Folks who are of the DA who have been there long enough don't need rebreathers. They've hardened up in Duellos's atmosphere.

I would think Irina, also, is hardened to Duellos' atmosphere as well since she's a local.

Well, and she's fit.  I mean, someone like Denton Kincaid who's used to being indoors more than out, and isn't exactly a paragon of health or roughing it, passes out when he runs.  Irina probably has spent far more time outside, and in more extreme conditions...I could see how she could adjust.

Wouldn't want to hit a thicker atmophere without some adjustment though.  Her lungs will probably be working overtime.  Super oxygenated air will probably be what the reaction is.  One helluva case of the hiccups!

:)

It's not that bad. Really it isn't. It takes about five days to adapt to high altitudes. 3 weeks to completely acclimatize. I've been camping at 7000 feet for 3 weeks. It's not too bad there. If you don't really push it hard for a couple of days you can pretty much do any activity after then. So I really wouldn't make a big deal of the re-breathers. Say if Irina doesn't keep her apartment pressurized she doesn't need a rebreather at all. I would think that most locals wouldn't bother unless they're in poor health. You'll listen to her complain aboard the Audron.

They're pretty much unnecessary except to newcomers who perform strenuous activities. The human body is pretty amazing as to the conditions to which it can adapt. Cerro de Pasco population 70,000. Building that town required heavy labor and it was done without rebreathers. The air is very thin up there. The body compensates by producing more red cells and thickening. At higher elevations hydration is always a problem. Coca leaves also helped people cope with living and working at these high elevations.

But to maintain a healthy biosphere that can bounce back, I'd say that the atmosphere shouldn't be thinner than the equivalent of 7-8000 feet and should be approx. 20% - 22% O2

The problems will occur if the corporations and other buildings where people spend the majority of their time maintain pressurized environments. I doubt they will due to costs. We know about profit margins. Give new workers a shot a day of some drug then wean them off it. If people spend their time in pressurized environments then they will never adapt.

Yeah but honestly the realism is less fun ;)

I can roll no matter which way...:)

Truth is, I was going more with RedBelle's fiction on Duellos and reverse engineering any science necessary. That's what fans do!

Something that's been asked a few times of me, why don't I put out details of what's going down?

Well, it's because I don't really know what's going down, because as a group work I don't want to funnel people into telling their character's story. To much guidance can stop people from expressing what their minds can create.

That said, if you need a clearer picture of something, let me know what you need. But don't be afraid to create it yourself. I may be creating Duellos i that it has four walls and a roof, but I'm happy to leave the decorations and room arrangement's as a communal thing.

Btw, the faithful in the mines? Ever seen that collector armour? Now imagine armour you can't take off because it's been grafted on, the people underneath augmented and indoctrinated and and put to sleep in underground chambers. The fact they are still mining to create new chamber's should tell you what they have planned for the future.

These guy's are basically a new breed of collector to replace the old since they are 50'000 years outdated and a new model is needed. At this point though, they are more like fast running armoured husk zombies. Don't worry. The one's on the other planet's I mentioned will get upgraded :)

As for what we're doing here. We're looking for leads as to the real collectors. I'd suggest we find the next collector target world.

Well, Red, let me assure you that you can't stop a good character and their expression. That's why I'll self identify as a guilty member of the 'What's going on Red?' group :)  But if you want more participation, well, that is not a problem!  Personally, I had the same concern about you, actually, that if I kept leaping in and describint stuff, well, it was your story.  So this is one of those, "You go" "No, you"  "After you" "Please no, after you" kind of moments :D

As it stands, in fact, I was going to write something else, but since Samacen showed up, I took the quick opportunity to describe how he looks.  Somebody's going to have to decide about his invitation too, whether to accept, decline, or blow it off.  Meanwhile, I'm working on another npc description, because when it comes to my part, I'm I tyrant I tell you.  A tyrant!  No, not really.  More like I just want to go make stuff up...and have some time to do it.

My philosophy in these things is 'roll with it'. If things start to get out of control you always have the option to break a character off, do something then rejoin later.

The only thing I won't do is make other characters make major actions. What another player's character does is in their hands. The only thing I'll do is give them some minor actions like rolling their eye's or saying hello to someone or, if I put them in danger, I get them out of danger and return them to where they were before so the player can then get them taking the actions they want.

Well, don't have me be picking whether you want to accept Samacen's invitation, because that's a major action and I'm not going to be held responsible for which kind of trouble we get ourselves into.  There's a starship, Irina's tools, a mysterious little girl, an invitation to a meal (that one is my fault) and some general investigating to be had.  Stop making the guy who doesn't like to talk, talk.  I'm onto your game, RedBelle! You aren't foolin' me! :D

So Sam. He's the guy who operates the day to day grind of the DA. He'll bend, but won't break. He's already twigged that some of us aren't here for the whistle stop tour or the talk. He's got his guard up, but seems to accept that those who have identified ourselves as such are a Thresher Maw suppression group. He'll be taking this back to Ol Jeb later. And he won't give anyone free run of the place without a guide.

And the crazy Haiwaian actually want's to fight a Thresher? To be all he can be? Vayne could probably give them tips. Heck, these people adapted to the atmosphere. What's fighting a Thresher after that?

I like the Thresher btw. The ME wiki says they are found on planet's with low atmosphere.

I hope I managed to succeed.

Dayum!  I think you did.  Hopefully no bowels were evacuated in the hearing of Vayne's tale...
