Just so i know what's what, Eteon is going in BEFORE or AFTER the knockout has been delivered?

Actually, all teams are hitting the train roughly at the same time. The Audron is where Eteon is (with Frank and Deidrus) and the idea is it will catch all the attention. But the three teams are supposed to hit the train at once. The Audron from above and center, Vayne's team somewhere near the train's engine (I leave that to Jensaarai) and Jess team approaching wherever Jess determine by steen from a side. However, once on the train, Jess' team is in charge of neutralizing the comandos with a bunch of knockout gas and such, Vayne's team is knocking out the engine, and presumably the train can't be lifted off until those things are done. Of course, during the operation, Grey team (Eteon's) will help fend off commandos, ID the proper cargo (Eteon could do this if she has a sealable suit. She could teleport into cars even if there is gas in them, assess, and teleport out), attach mag anchors, and detach/blow the couplers. Something like that.
you know, improvise!
@RedBelle. I'm holding off on Morgan actions except for conversation until you go with your next Jess piece. Cause you are in charge!

So I can determine how Red team will get to the engines? Because what I had in mind was either riding up on mechasteeds with your group then splitting away from the team once we make it on the train, or to fly alongside the engine via a shuttle, possibly vaynes personal shuttle/ship.

I was thinking you'd pull up alongside in the shuttle, and put in a part where Deidrus gave a head nod for a turian to fly it while you were aboard. If you want to change to steeds, go right ahead. Red team is you, krogan, all you!

Alright, gotcha. I'll be out for about half an hour on errands but I should be back before the big kablooey happens.

Gonna take a shuttle, just to make it easier for myself.
Time for some inventive grenade mixing.

That is literally the same reason why I was going to head out. Then someone took my car for their own stuff.
Edit: Eteon and some crew members have found a discarded ten-gallon hat. They are confused by it.

I like that entry. They're probably as confused by it as I am by that weird head thing the turian merchants and civilians wear in ME1
okay, tbh nothing beats that description of the hat!
SJ will be able to write in something like an hour or two. Anybody who has last minute prep for mission stuff maybe can get it done today? By late this eve (6 ish hours from now while I type this) or early next morning, how about we get that train robbery under way?
Parts of the story I see at play:
1. The actions of Red, Gray and Silver teams
2. The npc commando defense of the train
3. Naleena, Xanthe, and the asari base response
I have an idea for the asari train resistance so if it is okay with you all, I'll have them 'interract' with the actions taken by our team. Which is why I added some detail to them...I didn't want them all to be faceless goons. Actually there are only 12 of them, so that leave 8 undefined goons, an engineer and fireman (SJ I think had the idea that one would be turian and one would be salarian...but otherwise they were undefined as I recall), and then 4 'mini-character' npcs who, you know, do stuff that makes this an interesting encounter. Hopefully.
Does that sound good? Any input?

Sounds good to me. NPCs on the train could become temp members of the narrative seeing as if they are in the target container they will be onboard until we can drop them off. Might be fun that way. Or could have those that are split up (so pairs of friends) have a running thing where they are concerned for each other. Those with Naleena's group wondering what the heck is going on, the same with those on the Audron...

I like the recon mine. It is NOT equipped for exploding, correct? That would be bad if someone tripped it and it blew a hole in the top of the train...
My request is give the commandos some respect in a fight. The named ones shouldn't be one shot kills, probably. They may get one over on a character. I'm not asking anyone to let themselves be taken out...although if you don't mind that, it would make them look even more badass. Basically I am going by the lore on them, and not so much the fight in ME1 with Benezia because, you know, the ME1 AI was all easy on you ![]()

Hey guys. Back from liscene renewal and dinner making. ![]()
I got a lot of read up on. I guess I should write about getting the turian pilot, loading into the shuttle, taking off from the audron, and sliding alongside the train to plant a sticky bomb/arc grenade in order to shut down the engine for a while.

Thanks for the warm reception, RB!
I'm glad someone took Elara and went through with that idea of testing the stasis beetle! That was going to be one of my favorite scenes so I'm really glad it happened, haha.
While I'm much too busy to come back I think, I definitely want to see this story play out. One of the things I miss about forum RPs is how everyone gets together to make a story truly epic. Keep up the good work, y'all! It's turning out to be a wonderful read.

The recon mine thing that Frank has is only the sensor, it can be rigged as such but she told him to do something like that after the mission if he wanted it as a gift.
Eteon in conflict with the Commandos is going to be spending her time stealthily moving about. She is equipped for movement and evasion not conflict right now so most of her efforts are going to be trying to make sure everyone is safe, somewhat including the commandos (grabbing them if they fall off the train from a hit or something like that). She's feeling generous today.
I almost want her to walk into one of the non-combat members on board and have him/her comment on the mask she is wearing. One of those awkward movie moments when neither knows what to do.
"What is that on your face."
"A turian skull."
"Why the hell would you have that."
"Youthful indiscretion."
"Ah."
"It seemed like a better idea at the time."

There is a non combatant engineer and fireman on the train, but they are up in the engine. I don't know, maybe one of the scientists is on board. The problem is how do you talk to them when the train is pumped through with knockout gas, and possible concussion grenades.
You know, that kind of stuff might slur your speech.

I'm sure Frank will comment on the helmet before the drop, so there's that. The skull has yet to be seen.

Posté 30 juillet 2014 - 02:09
Well an application of knockout gas might make one of the commandos more amicable to speaking with her.
That's the skull on her mask.

You guys know that the robbery isn't going to be easy, right? Like Kel said the ME1 Asari Commandos were wusses because they were indoctrinated and Shepard was a Marvel Superhero. And forget this crap in ME3 about Asari not knowing how to fight. The game and lore are in conflict a lot. Lore in the Mass Effect Universe is some kind of zany free-for-all. The codex says this about Asari Commandos....
"Turian military on Asari Commandos: Asari Commandos are the finest warriors in the galaxy. Fortunately there aren't a lot of them."
That is what you're facing.
#1148
Posté 30 juillet 2014 - 03:29
Of course it isn't going to be easy. That's why it is the questionable choice over dealing with potentially not getting it (from perspective inside). 'Not going well' was the assumption Eteon made when she gave Frank the scanner so that should things go to crap the exit strategy isn't just 'kill them and run'. She thinks they will make it out of this, just not as cleanly as one might hope.
And any train robbery needs do have some form of conflict. Of course it's going to be difficult, just don't forget to have fun with it as well.

Cknarf: Do what you can and we'll cover you where you can't.
I'm targetting the Audron moving in on the train for something like my time tomorrow morning (which is about 11-12 hours from now)
Unless, basically, one of you wants to start it, like I know RedBelle will get a shot at this before me.
Make it dramatic if you do and as you write, I suppose I recommend remember that all teams are hitting the train at once, even though the Audron will receive the most attention, being, you know, a frigate flying in after all. The turians will probably broadcast a demand for surrender when its obvious to everyone that they're coming in, even though that likely won't happen. You know, in the name of the Spectre and council and stuff.
