That just leaves Morgan and Hooker's char. I'll need to check H's char later, time to sleeep.

Fine. Enjoying a summer break between my semesters, and trying to get my guys more involved story wise. :)

SGJ's opinion on Ardat-Yakshi:

Mass Effect 2: There are only 3 Ardat Yakshi in the galaxy. Two of them are in the monastery. One was Morinth. All of them were Samara's daughters.

Mass Effect 3: Suddenly Ardat Yakshi affected 1% of the Asari population, and it couldn't be diagnosed until it manifested, and it couldn't be treated unless it manifested, and by then it was too late to be treated. Quality Bioware writing. This is the Wile E. Coyote Theory of plot writing. It works fine until you think about it. If you think about it the entire sub plot falls into a very very deep canyon.

Basically it was a mook generator for the reapers. One cannot imagine that there would be so much shame that they would allow 50 million Ardat Yakshis to wander around on Thessia. One cannot imagine that the Asari would not have a "search for a cure" or any kind of in utero diagnosis and treatment - shame of the condition cannot be that great when there are 50 million of them wandering around sucking the life out of others. It would be a pretty common thing. I cannot imagine the Asari Republics confining them in Concentration Camps. 50 million do not fit in a monastery on Leuss as Samara described and as the Codex continued to describe, and they do not volunteer to be killed. The codex however never mentioned 50 million Ardat Yakshi. Just 1% of the Asari population, and the writers were hoping no one would bother to do the math. Thus the bottom falls out of the plot and it tumbles to the bottom of a very deep canyon.

Fortunately we're in Mass Effect 2 at this time, and Mass Effect 3 hasn't been written yet so we get to ignore such plot foolishness.

-----------------

Now back to the character in question.

I wrote an ardat-yakshi character, however I also wrote that there were multiple levels of the syndrome. There was Type 1 which was very mild. This affected over 99% of those with the syndrome. The person could meld but it would leave the partner feeling very drained. It was treatable with medication, but the medication had to be taken daily. There was research for a permanent cure for this type. Type 2 was more serious, and could leave victims in a vegetative state. Then there was Type 3 which was the exceedingly rare type like Morinth, Rila, and Falare. Types 2 and 3 were the ones confined to the monastery.

My character had type 1. She was very conflicted with it. It was part of her character. It kept her from things she wanted. She was a commando. The condition added to her character, but it wasn't her whole character.

So again - do you really need the character to be an Ardat Yakshi.

Thanks for all the information on the different types and the detailed lore. My character's family only realised it when she was caught melding the family house and then locked her away and never told anyone about her.

At some point in the story incredibly powerful individuals become more and more an asset on their own aside from flexing muscle, but being 'born' with that merit isn't useful right now.

She's not old as far as Asari go so while she may have been trained as a child she has probably atrophied on a few fronts in her studies due to lack of practice. if she has been hiding away in the Corners of Omega then it could also be the case that she isn't particularly skilled in ship-based or combat-based things. She's a warm body at the end of the day so could work as 'muscle' but as-is an extraneous solution is probably necessary.

She has honed her biotic over the years and is very flexible due her dancing in afterlife on omega. She could work as some muscle I guess.

Actually I've changed my mind. I'm gonna make a new Asari, maybe an assassin but still has biotic shield abilities so she could be on a dossier that one of your characters could find.

With enough immune boosters they can. :P If you know what I mean.

There's glorious rp gold to be had in playing a quarian with your characters usual tendencies.

XD I did once want to be a Aquarian biotic but they only have a small number, and my characters sex life are a big part of their depth.

Omg I've had a revelation.... I should make a celibate char in the future

I remember RPing a character who was Quarian but was also a metaphorical ark for all kinds of nasty diseases so if she took her suit off you're the one who's getting sick. It was quite funny because she was even more heartless than Deidrus but kept getting prodded by another char. It's hard to get yo' skank on when it would cause a biohazard.

Hey, just because someone has sex a lot, it doesn't make them a ****. ;) Some books have hundreds of pages of words, others are known primarily for their pictures. XD

Thinking about writing a 3rd one. Would like to have Avan notice Terca's duo, if it fits the time-frame, but nothing else. If anyone has any ideas and want to use my character, let me know on here or shoot a pm.
