Heh. Also I added a blank Character Creation sheet to the beginning of my character list so it is easy to copy and paste it to a new char.

Haven't given thought to remote flying. I suppose I can pull that out of my ass.

Kinda waiting for Toni (Flare, Wigglytuff) to be around to start... He's around here somewhere...

Well, I figured out how to do it, and modified my character's profile accordingly. We can get the shuttle. All she needs is a little time and permission to dock.

They do get boring. Hence, I broke the ice.

Also, I created "Vera," my shuttle's AI.

It's a shame I can't introduce Momma and the Bucky Valkyr again, but they don't exist till ME3.

But at least we still have smart alec AI's to push around the vehicles for easy accessibility.

Partly the reason why Jess has Anika. Her offscreen monkey wrench for providing info and redecorating the XO's cabin.........

......Did I say that outloud?

Wow. I feel bad for all those dead salarians. They just can't catch a break.

"The toads deserved what they got," Naleena said.

Which trail of blood did you read? Naleena's in "Battle for London" OR earlier in this one?

Regarding Toni's party. Okay. I don't like those either. I usually end up knowing someone within about 10 minutes. It's easier now that the smokers are banished to the outside. I've almost quit smoking now for 10 years (been down to 1 cig/day).

On cerberus troops......

Certainly more in line with ME1. But more advanced than ME1 folks in armour.

Being Cerberus they'll be constantly investing in an edge for their troops in combat. Dispite them having seemingly unlimted numbers in ME3 I think it would make more sense to have these cerberus squads with high tech equipment led, at least, by veteren commanders who can lead the trained recruits.

If I had to, I'd put it down as

ME1 - Suits and standard troops

ME2 - Science and Tech troops + more investment in their arms and hiring standards

ME3 - As 2, but now they've gone into genetics.

I've got a piece where Jess is approaching Illium. They are still far off. Gives me time to establish Jess and her crew's rapport while you deal with Batarians. Now I'm waiting for a good time to drop it in.

Plus, I'm planning a piece where Dei has to come over to the Medusa to discuss what he wants from her. It's shaping up to be a little....... odd. What he'll make of Captain Silver? Who knows......

Not sure how it's going to shape up but essentially it'll be a captain to captain talk with several ways it could go..... or maybe something that comes out of nowhere and the ship explodes......

Please..... Please don't make the ship explode.

So do you want me to start posting on omega, laying some possible ground work for the slaver ring and all that, or would you like me to hold up on that?

I don't see a reason you can't start your story, and start developing your character. Just because you're in another part of the galaxy doesn't mean there's nothing going on.

-- sorry Naleena is being a pain in the ass right now, but you realize that in her profession she's a stickler for details. That's what she's used to doing.

I APOLOGIZE FOR BEING AFK, I was driving family members around all day so I have been away from the laptop.

Bro, go ahead, I trust you for setting that up on Omega. If another character is in the vicinity (I think Ledgend said his char would be there) you two can do that together so you can put down some information about your chars for us to use to get to know them.

And Julia, information on Baladrum is all in Siphernin's hands. I won't, and can't, say what he has beyond what has been told to me. I know what Sipher wants and if you want to make changes to how he'd like to to play out PM him. From his in medias res posts I think he's already dealt with how Baladrum was going to act. Any changes need to go through him because it's his character action.

I sent a PM to Siphernin. We're going to need to wait for his response before continuing with the mission. I edited my last post. Vera is very fast.

As long as Sipher is in the loop it is OK. I don't want to step on people's toes too much.

From what I understood Baladrum isn't your average Batarian with some guns and Sipher has his plans for an entrance. If neither was really a factor I'd agree with Naleena that they might as well just kill him then leave and be done with it. Much cleaner, but...

He'll still die in the end.  I'm just envisioning it playing out like the end of Thane's recruit mission.  Okay, maybe not as cool as that.

So you want things to still play out that Baladrum escapes Ba'rah and then makes his way to the safehouse-tower-thing, right?

Depending on when you guys get there, he'd already have left the club and be at the Tower.  If you arrive before the shots get fired, it'll go one way.  If you arrive after the shootings, the port/tower is where he'll be.  If you arrive at the club after the shooting and he's gone, that info can be got from freelancers heading for the port.

So it depends more on when we arrive... Alright. Whether we arrive after he has left or before he has does not hold particular sway over me. Does anyone have a preference?

Remember I said something about the ASV Vera has a turret? I'm thinking of making it a UV Laser turret. I know in the MEU only the Salarians and Geth have them, but the US Navy is starting to put them on ships for anti-missile use now. So... they're old tech gang - I saw the Youtube video in late 2013. The story takes place in 2185. It is a riot that the tech in the MEU is almost old tech today. So the Short wave length UV Laser Turret will be so retro. They're not long range, but they're unaffected by kinetic barriers. The LOL Gardian Lasers that use the ineffective infrared are a face palm.

With the energy requirements for the laser I imagine the ship would have to break cloak and I don't think that the laser would be strong enough to be anti-material without having some serious energy requirements (the anti-material one shown from the article I read was 105 Kilowatts... Which is a lot).

But we have mass effect drives powerful enough to drive a ship to FTL speeds (the Kodiak is capable) which is IMO more than powerful enough. Yes the ship would have to break cloak. Honestly I'm surprised we don't see more energy based weapons - like Javik's.
