Frank can be on the Janiri any time, he's not doing anything important, just his usual filler. I'm at 'work'. So I probably won't be able to post for a bit.
If we need to move forward, I'll teleport him lol.

I'm not posting right now, but I'm keeping up on the action. First week of classes means I'm trying to stay on top of things.

So where are we at now?

Well...many people are back at the Janiri, now that it is basically ready to go. The people who are not, as far as I know are Jess and Anika who are doing a bit of a side thing, and Morgan and the commandos who are at the safehouse with a shuttle for the ride back, for anyone still in Nos Astra.

Just gave Morgan a lovely task. I hope he's not squeamish

Wow, okay! No, he's not squeamish, you came to the right place. He's sort of down and dirty, but the kind that will absolutely take care of you. I'll make it suitably (even more) dramatic. Of course, you just went past a bunch of asari commandos on the way in, but I'll write them as pretty shocked.
Will write in a few hours. Got some home to handle here! ![]()

Speaking of quarians.
I did design a second character. When it comes around, (which will be after the Medusa) I'll introduce him. He's a quarian, with a specialization in advanced computer programming. Less engine room, more...well, you'll see.

shotgun, I left the conversation open-ended, plus I had to go to work so I was in a rush. Eh, nothing better at fighting procrastination than a good rush lol. Hope I wrote Dahlia well enough.

I think we are waiting for Jess and Anika.
And it's the weekend so we're waiting for Kel to write Morgan and the commandos.
And Jaimie's writer.
Everyone else is back.
Kel is working with RB to set up the next mission which is taking back the Medusa.

By the way, just to let players know, Unlike the Normandy, there are certain areas of the Janiri that are restricted... like engineering, the AI core, and gunnery. You can't just wander into them.

Give Jess access to engineering and she'll fix all those little niggling problems a brand new ship has before shakedown or blow up the ship trying.
Btw, thinking about the nature of the ships we have..... The Medusa's been described as a shotgun that saw service in the first contact war..... I'm thinking it's probably the oldest so I'm going with the idea that it's not got many networks onboard making it a hands on, crew intensive vessel. Basically like in battlestar galactica, the cylon's can't hack it because it runs older tech that's not susceptable to Cyber warfare.
I can just see Jess standing next to a funnel that channel's her voice down to the engine room.... "More Speed"!
<tinny reply> "A'm given er all she's got Captain"!

Whereas unlike the VI, VERA can do the jobs of most slacking crew members. However, since she is a smart ass, while maintaining actual control herself, she'll create little false emergencies to keep them on their toes.

Wow. Emily Wong's news coverage of Horizon only mentioned slavers. Surprise, surprise! I guess the Alliance and the rest of the Council don't want to scare away even more investors with a panic of strange aliens abducting colonists. I mean slavers are bad enough, but strange mysterious aliens called Collectors? No way. I mean that information is out there and being talked about on midnight radio talk shows where they also talk about crazy things like Councilor Udina is planning a Coup and stuff like that, and other totally discredited things like the existence of Reapers. So you know how much credit this talk about Collectors is getting.
And that xenomorph on Duellos? The Asari Navy dealt with the problem in a way that suits the mainstream. The extreme environmentalists? No. Not at all. It was such an extreme heavy handed method. Those guys broadcast at 3:00 a.m. after the conspiracy theorists.
You know who listens to guys like these, don't you? Stoners, writers, and communists. I remember driving home 45 miles from a basketball game late at night. Am I listening to loud music to stay awake? No. I've flipped on the A.M. radio and I'm listening to some guy talk about space aliens and the conspiracy to cover up all this stuff. Or another government conspiracy that's more current. And the people that call in. They make these shows. They all have some story to tell. It's entertaining as hell. Some nights have more callers than others.
I'm sure they have things like those in the Mass Effect Universe. I can't see even a highly evolved society being any different really. Except maybe talking about things like cybernetic implants for the purpose of "jacking into" virtual realities." In other words, direct interface, and is that a good or bad thing, because the government helped fund the massive initial VR project. Do you follow me? They're denying the whole thing. It's a conspiracy, and this is a late night talk show.
This is Shotgun Julia. Your calls next.
