Can I mention something here? The Council hired a specialist: Naleena. She is not a grunt. She is to be used on missions where a large force cannot be used. She prefers to operate alone or with one other (and one who is not Salarian). Use her appropriately. Her talents are absolutely wasted in large unit operations or even reconnaissance in force. She is suited to espionage and scouting or making a very surgical strike. Taking on an army of Collectors is not her thing.
Her fee, however is very expensive because this mission is going to occupy a significant portion of her time when she could have performed perhaps a couple or three other jobs. At this point it hasn't been confirmed to her whether The Council is willing to pay it, and the matter on Illium has not been written off as self-defense. Someone said something about a smear on the side of a building might not be considered such. There is an objection to this.
Having her own shuttle is just that she's accumulated money over the past 300 years and invested it in the Asari MIC and the Turian MIC instead of blowing her funds on trinkets. This has turned a huge profit since the wreckage of Sovereign was recovered. Stocks split, etc. Having a decent weapon isn't a big deal. I could trick out a Mantis to be almost as effective. I used a Mantis X in multi-player because I had better recharge. It's not like we're leveling up here.
Do not forget her psychological profile which is invisible to the rank and file here. She has issues. Her loyalty has to be won. She doesn't trust people, especially after finding out that the Salarians (aka toads) are involved in this operation. If you must know she's an Asari supremacist at this point of her life, although humans are rising in her opinion.
