Then there's this trailer, which not only reminds me of that fresco-art opening sequence of DAO, but it also totally makes The Order sound like the Grey Wardens. Standing vigilant against Ancient Evil ™? Check. Drinking weird-ass poison blood to fight said Ancient Evil? Check. Corrupted tainted Humans turning into monsters? Check. Vaguely similar motto (We shall stand, we shall prevail)? Check. Not that Dragon Age is the only game/fictional world to feature these things though. It isn't even the first to do so.

I can see all the cross-over fanfics already, once that game is released.

I'm already settled on believing it's set in the industrial age of Thedas.

Britain has a lot of Orders. It's more an alternate history than fantasy.

Well, I don't think they ever had magical orders! But yeah, it's set in alt. history Britain.

Edit: I forgot to add "hopefully". Hopefully they didn't have any magical orders. Yes.

I'm already settled on believing it's set in the industrial age of Thedas.

I'd love to see an actual Industrial Age of Thedas sometime. It'd be really neat. It'd probably take a collaboration of entrepreneurial dwarves, qunari defects, and Grey Wardens to bring it about, because the rest of Thedas doesn't seem to be all that into developing new technologies.

Speaking of Grey Wardens, a new "methods" I wonder what Blackwall's view on the Architect would be. On the other hand, Darkspawn who threatened all of Thedas at one point, must kill it. On the other hand, potential ally who could end blights for good...

Hopefully not. I it sad to say that Victorian and Steam Punk are two themes that there are not many good games for. But, Bioware has good writers so they could try these theme, and do a good job with the right people.

No Industrial Age! Thedas has enough problems without rampant pollution or further exploitation of the  of the less fortunate.

Lionhead killed Fable. The story turning steampunky was perfectly fine.

Not all games should follow some 'historical' path to the industrial age. DA is a game about dark fantasy, magic, politics, choices. Adding a steam punk theme adds literally nothing to the core concepts of DA. DA is best served by staying true to what it already is, and building on that, not going off into Deus Ex /  Shadowrun territory. DnD never went all the way to the industry age and, despite the mistakes with 4.0, that is one of its saving graces.

But there is no point arguing this since unless Bioware is bound and determined to kill DA they aren't going to go Steampunk. There are other games (and maybe they'll make a new IP for this genre, which I do love, sometime)

Dwarven technology is apparently very advance. While I could be wrong, wasn't mention in WoT they have steam power?

Not really- dumbing down of gameplay killed Fable. Showing a growing world, rather than a world that doesn't get past sword and board.

The Qunari already have gun powder- the Dwarves have steam. Bianca has the typical steam punk imagery.

Change is coming.

That would be interesting. A lot of Wardens didn't like the Warden Commander sparing the Arcitect, but others agreed with the decision.
