I like the idea of Vivienne putting aside some of her snarkiness for a moment to swap interesting stories with Varric and Blackwall. Though I've have a sneaking suspicion that many of her stories will end with "He was so humiliated he didn't show his face in court for months after that".

As much as I love Dorian, my first play through has always be a toss between Blackwall, Varric and Vivienne or Dorian, Iron Bull, and Varric/Cole. I also have some random team up like Vivienne, Sera, Cass (Team Mean Girls) or Cass, Dorian and Vivienne (Team Quit Fighting).

I'm really leaning towards Dorian, Cole and Blackwall for my primary party. Blackwall seems to have a good sense of humor and seems like he gets along with most people. It's him or Varric, but I could use the warrior slot and I'd rather use a new guy.

I just hope I can use my normal set up. I like to use a lot of rang attacks and use one mage for support and have the warrior work the front line. But, with the new combat system I think I'm going to need more movement on the front line and back.

My old standard go to in Origins was Wynne, Leliana, Shale and then myself.  DAII was Alistair, Varric, and then the next one depended on what class I was playing as.

 

DOrian will be in my party depending on what his specialty is.  If he's a healer he will almost 100% for sure always be in my party though I get a feeling that Solas that bald elf is the healer, because of the whole spirit connection thing in which case sadly Dorian may never be in my party except for a couple times at most.

Awfully NSFW maybe, Awfully hot definitely, but straigt up awful? Certainly not. Still waiting for my Varric vs. Blackwall balloon competition. With this chest our dear Blackwall might just have a chance against Varric.

Unfortunately, things aren't looking goof for Blackwall especially with my main canon playthrough. He doesn't seem to fit in my ideal party nor does he look particularly interesting as a character, he'll probably be my least used companion due to circumstances alongside Solas and perhaps Viv' .

Not saying I dislike these three, but I'd say their roles are kinda covered by my other companions due to one reason or another nor can I see my Inquisitor bonding with them in particular.

Hmm... Before DAO I thought Leliana and Wynne would bore me to death, Morrigan oh so mysterious witch would be my main LI and Alistair would be my best buddy. Showed what I knew. It turned out I grew tired of Morrigan and Alistair on the first playthrough already (that doesn't mean Morrigan and Alistair are bad characters, it just means I don't like their personalities), but Wynne and Leliana became the core of my party (maybe unpopular opinion I don't know). They just clicked with me. I also misjudged Isabela and Aveline and was disapointed in Merrill after. They were nothing I presumed. So far Cole and Solas are least interesting to me and Cullen makes me go "not you again", but it can change.

Each character is a combination of personality, voice and appearance. And we don't know much about it, except a couple of pictures and some writers notes. You can't judge them based on that. Until you meet someone, a real person or fictional character, you know nothing about them and you don't know your reaction to them.

So unless you are a Bioware employee or have a time machine, everything is unknown.
