I am personally looking forward to a more grizzled, rigorous person who has witnessed a lot and has aged by it, but still remains collected and headstrong. And as I have stated before, I am interested in whatever he will bring to the table regarding the Wardens.

Simple: One night Hawke drank way too much wine, and started going into TMI territory.  That's why the sex scenes fade to black; Varric cut Hawke off before s/he could go into the dirty details.

Since it got brought up on the Romances thread and someone suggested I post this here...

 

 

If the beard were longer I'd say Joe Manganiello would make a good model for Blackwall. 

 

I don't watch True Blood, but ain't gonna lie that's one fine-looking guy.

 

Someone in another forum section suggested retired French rugby player Sebastien Chabal as the living, breathing doppelgänger of Blackwall, and I'm inclined to agree:

And to think the guy is only 38 this year...rugby must be quite a strain of a sport to age someone so fast (but well).

 

And me being me, I even did a poor man's shoop job, because why not?

Cool quote and I totally agree with you. By knight in shining armor I was more referring to the knight errant or paladin archetypes, which the Wardens at least to an extent resemble

I know what you meant, didn't mean to contradict your statement, just felt obligated to use that quote since I am a tad bit tired of the honor bound character type since too often they are simply labeled as such without much depth to them.

My confession is that when he was rumored to be a companion and I saw the concept for him I couldn't help but be super excited to see someone who looked to be my age in the game.  But I dared not hope that he would be a LI.  I figured they would go the same stinkin' route as they did with Wynne or Duncan.  But the closer the game gets the more I hope that he IS a LI.  I hope my heart doesn't get broken .

I kind of suggest to everyone to just take a step back and breathe... I've had my hopes totally crushed by LI reveals and wouldn't want anyone to go through that. I'm trying not to get attached to any potential LI now. Just grateful I'll have at least one LI I kinda like (Iron Bull) for my inquisitor.

Don't worry, I can breathe.  Blackwall is my first choice and Cullen my 2nd.  So if Blackwall is unavailable I will just romance Cullen every time since I have zero interest in any of the other options  (atm, things may change after I get to know them in game).  While my heart may break, I will certainly go on, no worries there
