I think he'd be straight, but I also like the other two more as love interests. I do like Varric a lot, though, in a platonic way. He was one of my staple party members in DA2.

I'd be interested in romancing any of them, though I'm not the best judge on this topic since I'm a straight male.

Because the guy has a ten pound wedding ring on his back. Romancing him is like saying your okay being the "other person" in someone else is relationship. And, no one wants to be the other person. You my say you love him, but deep down you'll know.

I know it was a joke. I just get tired of every comment being turned into something dirty.

 

 

At this point I'm pretty alright with either Solas or Blackwall as the last LI. I have a slight preference for Solas, but I think I could get used to Blackwall. Basically I'm at the "pleasedon'tbeVarric" stage. 

I seem to be the opposite. I want the last 2 LIs to be Blackwall and Varric. There is an even spread right now for LIs, so even if the last 2 are somehow gated, it wouldn't bother me.

That's assuming to much on how Bioware would write an hypothetical Varric romance though.
I don't really care that much. I'm happy Varric is back in DAI. I'll feel Sorry for those who want to romance him though.

Bianca is just too much of a thing, I think. For me, it would be more fulfilling of an arc for him to see them get back together. The "dead spouse syndrome" male LIs are such a dead horse trope at this point, anyway.

Thing is, Varric has got to get his Bianca **** straightened out before any romance stuff begins. Otherwise, I'd consider that a serious disservice to his character.

I know this is going even more into the dead wife theory, but could the necklace he wears be his wedding ring. He could have used it to hide his marriage.

Speculations, are we having Romance-thread Jr. here?

Unless somebody can read writers' minds all characters have their pros and contras. But we just don't know what kind of stories they want to tell. Probably writers are just laughing at romance predictions. I can only say that age argument is stupid because most of characters are looking at 40 from different angles. And thank goodness for that because I'm tired of kindergarten.

If Blackwall is not romanceable I'll probably go with Cassandra. It sucks because I would like to roll female PC first.   Or maybe I'll toss a coin between Sera and Josephine.

How funny, when I think about it, I've always imagined my LI as older than me; in DAO I'm pretty sure Zevran is older than the young city elf, who I figure is maybe 18 or so (headcanon at least), and in DA2 I imagined Fenris was older than Hawke; I put him at about 28-30. 

 

And in DAI I want to play a late 20s Dalish archer and pair him with Blackwall; cue adorable May/December romance! (Though I'd place Blackwall at more of an October...).

Nah, Wynne was pushing mid-60s, I believe. Her son, Rhys, is 40, I believe.

Over Twitter Weekes said Solas was early to mid 40s and I've seen people say someone said Blackwal was late 40s, but I haven't seen it myself. Maybe someone else here did. But, yeah, I think they're all in the 40-something range.

See I know about the Solas Tweet but I think the Blackwall age guess is speculation. I don't think it's been mentioned by a dev how old he is.
