Dorian's voice is already a NOPE,
*hiss*
I am actually shocked he made it into about 10 seconds of the combat demo lol They really seem to not like him.
Well, somebody had to play the corpse to demonstrate revival.
Bioware why do you not show Blackwall some love? I want more Blackwall. (ooooooooh he could be voiced by the actor the voices Goliath from Gargoyles now that would make my little heart swoon melt and explode
)

Keith David? I'm not sure I could not hear Anderson, so although I do enjoy his work, I hope it's not him.

Oh, gah, please no.

Hmm he was Anderson? I'm surprised I never picked up on that
Guess I'm projecting my eternal love for Goliath on Blackwall a tiny bit.
I was wondering whether Bioware ever had a female writer write a straight male romance in one of their games before? Of course, a female writer could probably write just as well from a male perspective romancing a woman (you, the player character) as a male writer could, but somehow I got to thinking that Bioware has never done this before...just another reason why Blackwall may not be a LI (hopefully he is!).

And Goliath was awesome. Who could blame ya? ![]()

I don't see what the writer may or may not have written in the past affecting a character's LI status.
That does not make sense to me.
If a male writer can write a straight female romance (Morrigan, for example), I don't see how the reverse wouldn't be true.
Why would we assume Blackwall would be straight, anyway? There are already hetero options and gay options, so there's a good chance the remaining could be bisexual. Female writers have written bisexual male romance in DA before. (I know Anders had a female writer, at least.) Not that I think it's more than a coincidence.
I'm not talking about Sheryl Chee in particular and what she's written in the past - I'm just saying that if Bioware has never had a female writer write a straight male romance (in a sense, the female writer would have to inhabit the straight male perspective) in one of their games before, things may be no different in DAI as well.
And I am not saying that a woman couldn't write that kind of romance as well as a man could (in fact, she may even do a better job of it) - I'm just randomly speculating on Blackwall's chances of being a LI just as everyone else in this thread is doing.

I guess I don't see the writer's gender as a determiner for whether or not a character would be a LI.
Actually, Jennifer Hepler wrote Anders and Sebastian for DA2. So, there's that.
And to Rinji:
Ah, but Morrigan wasn't written by a straight male. I'm a woman with plenty of close gay friends, and they can understand a woman's perspective better than a straight man ever could.

They have done this. Torian in SWTOR was written by Mary Kirby just as an example.
Also, in this very game, Cullen is another straight man written by a woman.

I'd forgotten that. Good catch. lol
For some reason, I thought David Gaider wrote Cullen.
::slinks off to do more research on Bioware's writers::
Brianne Battye wrote Cullen. ![]()
Honestly, I personally would rather he not be voiced by Keith David. I was too big of a Gargoyles fan growing up and he will always be Goliath to me.

Straight male perspective is everywhere. We're practically drowning in it since birth, all of us. So I think we're well versed in inhabiting it, even if not experienced writers like Sheryl is. It'll be fine.
Looks like it isn't happening.
Hopefully I can still flirt with him- as a *male* Inquisitor- even if it doesn't go anywhere.
