Why not Cassandra then, as she is the only warrior companion that has been featured with a sword and shield?
Cassandra has already been shown in gameplay videos, Blackwall hasn't so far minus that recent video

That's Blackwall.
There is slight distortion, so he doesn't look proportionate, and kind of looks like a dwarf.
Maybe he'll actually...talk
I can hear the anticipation from here.

Why on earth would that be Cassandra when they haven't shown Blackwall yet.
I would flip out, seriously.
No way that's her though.

I'm not saying they should, just that it doesn't seem like the weapon style should be much of a priority. If they've already shown Cassandra with a sword and shield, then what's the point of changing the weapon Blackwall's been shown with exclusively?

He's the only one who was actually shown with both style, Pre-Alpha and Alpha

His initial concept art was sword and shield, and he's been seen using that style way back when.

I agree that it's probably Blackwall, in that case.
Couldn't you just give him a reset potion if you want to switch him to sword and shield or two handed?

Maybe he goes both ways.

Less Cassandra. More Blackwall.
All I learned from this is that Solas is Joffrey and Blackwall is Ned.

S/he appears to be a fan of both fandoms, so
Not an accident, I'm sure (or just having some fun).

All I know is if Solas is anything like Joffrey, than a Blackwall romance is very much in the cards.

In all seriousness, I think it's pretty much over. Solas is the 7th LI, and Vivienne will likely be the 8th. It is what it is.

But, what if they are just playing with us and there is a 9th romance.

He's a Grey Warden, he already has a death sentence
