I'm also a little reticent because of how the lore might be handled, but from what I read it sounds like a great story. And it just might set the stage for Inquisition in regards to the Grey Wardens.
I hope that Blackwall will be in it. It would explain the lack of info on him.
In the best case Blackwall will be mentioned. (Also if action takes place in Anderfels, chances are slim). But the author promised to be careful with DA lore.

The morbidly depressing aspect of all this is that we've all kind of accepted Aimo's Blackwall as an essential truth. The game is going to be released and Blackwall is going to end up being some manner of angry, unpleasant father-figure with the accent of a surly Frenchman.

Copper Ram: Thar, thar; I wouldn't even trust ME with my general interpretation of Blackwall based on what we have, and am totally ok when he turns out differently (it'd be a relief to work with something concrete when it's finally out there rather than the current shots in the dark, tbh); I think the only time I nailed a character pretty close pre-game was Alistair, and I had tonnes of dev-written drabble banters in the forums to work from.
With what we know so far, Blackwall is hawt, that we all can agree on. And that said, Grey Warden Uncle for LI~

Maybe, he doesn't talk. He just stands there and makes grunts and shakes his head. And, the only way we know his true feeling is by the letters he sends to us.

Good lord, he totally is the kind of guy who'd make me swoon lol I almost don't want to know what he's like; let me live this fantasy for as long as possible, of him being a deep-voiced noble sort of guy
