A distant relative, or maybe he's really that old?

Oh have you put that over in the Iron Bull thread? If you haven't would you mind if I did? Him and Blackwall look great it that both fan threads need to see it!

Of course not, why would I mind?

Am I the only one that can't stop looking a Blackwall's chest?

That's the point of distraction. Sera will take care of the rest.

I love GamerMD's nickname for him - Ser Beefcake

Because he is. Josephine approves.

Spoiler

I could just be a piece of art that was later turn into the concept for Blackwall. But, if he is that old we don't have the deal with the chance of the taint killing at the end of DAI.

(Snip.)

If I remember correctly they recycled this picture quite a bit. No warden armor, and why would Blackwall's portraits be randomly dispersed in different places? My money is on some Fereldan or Orlesian lord.

That's the painting from the mage origin in the classroom area with the novices, I think.

Could be as well.  This image is from within Avernus' tower.  There's another painting of a woman near it.  I was hoping I could match it up to Scribbles but no such luck.

Hey Blackwall thread, just wondering if you guys and gals had any guesses about his voice actor?

Sera and Dorian's actors both seem to come from the same agency in the UK, and I went looking for some Northern/Yorkshire actors who might have similar voices to the one Blackwall had in the demo.

So far I was only able to find Andrew Dunn, but it's not really a perfect match.

(Well, Sean Bean sounds even more like him but I don't think the voice acting budget is that big :P)

Not a clue. We only know that Sheryl has rejected Owen Teale version.

He sounds familiar but I can't place him.  A bit like the "Elder One" voice, that sounds familiar too in places.

Any actor can potentially don an accent that isn't their native one, it just needs practice and knowledge of how the accent works, so searching exclusively for Northern/Yorkshire actors probably wouldn't bring up much success. Sadly I have no idea who the actor could be either :(

Someone mentioned Rory McCann in another thread - I've no idea how he sounds like, but I did discover that he's a Game of Thrones actor, and we've already found out that quite a few GoT actors have done voices for DAI (Indira Varma, Ramon Tikaram, etc.), so maybe Rory McCann is one lead to be followed up on...

It probably makes more sense to find someone who actually has the accent, generally.  I think that's how they've described searching for VAs before.  But even so, yes, we can't go checking the voice of every northerner in the world!

It doesn't sound right to be him, to be honest.  I think people are just picking Thrones actors because they're well known and familiar right now, in terms of how they sound.

Were they officially confirmed, though? I thought it's speculation realm so far.

Gareth David-Lloyd (voice of Solas) confirmed that Indira Varma does a voice in DAI (we think it has to be Vivienne, but we're not absolutely sure), and Ramon Tikaram as Dorian sounds like almost an 100% possibility, thanks to our intrepid researchers.

Gareth David Lloyd let slip that Indira Varma was involved somehow, but that's all we know.  Ramon Tikram is pure guesswork at present.

(I still laugh at them being "GoT actors" like they've never been in anything else )

ARG! half- 'd!

I don't think he sounds like Rory McCann, McCann's voice is a bit more gravelly and deep.

*googles "people who sound like Sean Bean"*

I'm the last person to make assessment of british accents, but Blackwall's voice seems to be more deep and... erm... nasal?

Yeah, the depth is different I think.

I'm also not an expert on northern English accents, but Blackwall does sound like he's from Yorkshire.

(my hopes of Glasgow were dashed ;___;)
