Not trying to be rude..but could we not rain on the Blackwall party? It seems every so often people need to come in and remind us he is OLD AND TAINTED, I'm certain most of us know that.
Let's just be friendly and positive regardless of his LI status.

Being old and tainted isn't really going to have any impact on gameplay, since the game will be over in a limited timeframe anyway. If there's one thing we've learned so far, it's that what happens after the game is beyond player control anyway.

Well, my thoughts on this.
You know what makes me wonder? After watching Indira Varma video where she is acting Vivienne, I didn't notice a trace of french accent. (Yes, we could hear her earlier in the game, but that was just one phrase, also without accent). And Viv is definitely an Orlesian.
Actually... according to Mary Kirby she is a Free Marcher.

This will probably come out a lot more glibly than I intend, and it's not my intention to trivialize anyone's feelings. I'm crushing pretty hard on Blackwall. If he's not a romance, well, I'll just write my own and create a very special single Inquisitor just "for him." It'd be nice if it's in the game, but hardly the end of the world.

He loves being isolated so I don't think he is interested in a love life. Blackwall was stationed in Val Chevin during Fifth Blight (9.30). Northern english accent.
We pick Sera up in Orlais but she is in Friends of Red Jenny (criminal organization featured in Ferelden and Kirkwall). Northern english accent.
No idea about Solas (he has Welsh accent though).
Considering accents, we can exclude Antiva, Nevarra and Orlais.
That leaves Ferelden and Free Marches. I don't know anything about Anderfels accents, though.
However the fans react to a certain piece of news, it's not Bioware's fault. Yes, I think that waiting can be agonizing, and gosh I know how awful one can feel after a bit of disappointing news. However, how we behave after an announcement is something we are accountable for, and we shouldn't expect Bioware to take the blame for us behaving petulantly.
Whatever we find out about the last two LIs, I hope that everyone here will keep any excitement or disappointment in check (gloating can be just as bad as throwing a fit about something).

But I don't know. I could be wrong. I have been before. I was really sure Varric would be an LI and I was dead wrong there. So there are still hope. Just don't bet on it and get you hopes up to much.
I sort of wish all the companions could be LI's so that everybody could be happy. But most of all, I wish Bioware said if they were or not when the presented the characters when they know how important it is for their fans. Not forgetting that it would save them some headache.
That's because you can't read writers' minds and don't know their intentions, what story they want to tell with these characters. Taking Varric as an example, his story was not complete. They could choose him getting over Bianca and finding future with the Inquisitor (as Varric's fans hoped). But apparently that was not his story, it felt wrong for him. It's even harder to speculate about new characters which we know almost nothing about. You say Blackwall likes isolation. Well...
I see a guy who likes to spend his time with his friends and laugh heartily over their jokes (even slightly vulgar). (Btw Gaider commented on this picture and said it reflects their personalities perfectly, so I'm not pulling this out from the air).
Also, while I have my own preferences, I won't go to Solas or Vivienne thread to explain them that they are wrong and should feel wrong. But I guess it's very naive of me to expect the same courtesy from other people.
Am I the only one who thinks of Lemmy Kilmister when he sees Blackwall?
Also, is it bad that I want him to go through a berserking rampage when the Inquisitor and the other companions are overwhelmed by enemies while this plays on the background?

What if Blackwall has a kid? I do not know why, but I like the idea. He joined the Wardens, yeah, but what about before? He looks a little older, so it's plausible that he's got some years on him, and...I just think the idea of him having a former family (maybe they were fridged, maybe he had to leave, not sure) really interesting. Other than Wynne, I don't think we've had any parents as companions, have we?

That is a cool thought I like the idea of him having a child. Maybe it would be part of his personal quest; we have to reunite him with the child or save it somehow. Then the kid or teenager or whatever just sort of hangs out at Skyhold lol And we get to be step-dad/mum if Blackwall is a LI 
I hated how we could never follow up on Wynne's confession about her child. Just reading about him in Asunder wasn't enough.
So, how are you guys going to build Blackwall? Personally, I'm thinking of building into Sword and Shield DPS.
Hey everybody! Never posted here, but just wanted to say I'm really hoping for Blackwall as option. And really I don;t think he's much older than the other companions. Maybe late 30's early 40's. I think maybe the grey streaks in his hair may have given the impression of way older, but I've known folks who started to grey in their 20's, and who knows what drinking darkspawn blood will do to you. As far as the taint, I don't see why he has to be going on his Calling right now. He could have 5, 10 years left. Who knows?
He also seems like a fun character. I mean, he's about business when it's time for that, but wasn't he also part of that one Team..forgot the name, but the team with IB, Sera and Blackwall that was supposed to be rather raucus?
Oh! and the vid with voices, I'm pretty sure that both the voices from 10:45 and 11:50 are BW cuz the lil dialogue box is by his icon when the voice speaks. yeah, I double checked. The dialogue box is next to his icon both times..the third icon down.
at any rate, I put my hat in the hoping for BlackWall circle. Cheers!...and good luck.

can warriors dual wield, or no? i can't remember the final verdict on that. although, i think for him i'd go sword and board.
No dual wielding warriors this time. 2 handers or sword and board. I will probably make him the tank and Cassandra the 2h dps. I am undecided atm. They may switch spots.
I think it was implied him and Solas are close'ish in age. So I'm not thinking he is super old (of course it probably helps that I am in my 40's as well). But others....yeah. 
I'm indifferent about the child scenario. If he does that's okay. If he doesn't that's okay too. It's better than the "let's do his calling" quest idea

i think that just getting to know him and getting him to..trust you? or see that you're sincere and on the level might be a challenge at first. but once he does, and he opens to you, that's when i think we might really get to see him more relaxed...and more willing to be a part of a team again.

I actually love the little we know about this character, and I think he is designed (appearance-wise/voice wise) quite nicely. If you all have the good fortune to have him as an LI, cheers! lol!). I also have a soft spot for nerdy types, so that is another plus.
