Hey i was on youtube and saw this video called letter from blackwall. does anyone know if that's true? because in the letter it said he was the Warden Constable of Orlais, and if he really is second command to a Warden Commander that'd be awesome.
Edit: The video said it's source was from the World of Thedas. so idk.

Blackwall was Warden-Constable (second-in-command) of orlesian wardens (perhaps knew Riordan, Duncan and maybe some orlesian establishment - like Cassandra and Vivienne). However when we meet him in the game he is traveling alone (might be connected to what Wardens are up to).

Source (Like it wouldn't be obvious)
...You know, I always considered myself fairly confident in my sexual orientation but yet I feel that confidence slip a bit.
Edit: @Ashelsu Right-o, added the second picture. If there's more, there's none that I see on Aimo's tumblr ![]()

I see, apparently they also introduced Blackwall by saying he was the strong silent type and that "If you were sad that you couldn't romance Duncan..." So all is not lost.
Yes! I was very sad! Gimme that beard. ![]()
Thanks! Context is important.
Swooning context. It's important.

Thank you for finding the letter. I just think its going to be awesome that we are going to have a high ranking Warden in our party. i wonder if he is going to be mentioned in Last Flight.

I think it would be awesome if the last 2 LI's were male, not to leave our straight male friends out, but because it's kind of a small victory. That for once the romances were more targeted to a different demographic. Though I do feel bad that both straight men and lesbian women would get the short end of the stick.

Just throwing in my two cents here. I'm thinking he may have left the wardens, and part of Last Flight might be about whats happened to them and why Blackwall may have left.

Speaking as a straight man, I get Josephine and Cassandra. To be honest, I feel pretty set.

I mean the plot summery thingy of the book on amazon says its about a Elf Mage Warden who is researching the fourth blight and finds some deep secret and makes her question her duties. so yeah i don't know.

Yeah, what about that concept art? Still a mystery.

From one hand the author said she won't be using game characters, but people found Nate references, so I'm not sure. I guess we wait and see.

Pretty much. I doubt Cass will be race gated btw.

From the concept art , I imagine some wardens are sentenced to death for X reasons.
Blackwall saves them but he's disgusted by what they have done , so he tear apart his warden necklace.
(I really like Aimo artwork when after this he rips open his shirt ...)

I am fairly curious what's going on with him. His bio states he's proud of the image of Warden's of old and yet a concept art shows him being disgusted with the symbol (I'm aware that Concept Art probably means nothing in the game but it's still curious) So what could it all mean? That he respects the Wardens of Old but he feels the Wardens of now have wandered away from it? He thinks Gryphons are silly and it should be a Fennec that's the symbol of the Wardens? Who knows but the writers.

I have a weak will alright. I can't help myself. One second I'm discussing the interesting nature of characters and next I want to nuzzle their chest. It's like tourettes... Except with cuddles and nothing like tourettes.

What can be said ? When you've got a man who looks like Blackwall, it's hard to focus on their personality for too long without wanting to see those muscles.

Also, people. Scientia sit potentia! Knowledge is power. Study your subject comprehensively with with diligence and zeal. Scientific method ftw. I'll make sure Blackwall and Cassandra are in good physical shape. It's important for the mission-n-n....

But in all reality if we can't romance him what do you think the reason will be? too old for that kind of stuff? wife he had to leave when becoming a Warden? I'm just wondering what reason they will give if he isn't one of our last romances

If I had to guess it could be as something as simple as "Simply not attracted" to the fact he doesn't want a relationship to distract him from duty.

I would like to see both remaining romances to be male for a different reason. I would love to see a beautiful, powerful, witty, successful woman portrayed who isn't interested in romance. We had Aveline to a certain extent, but even she lost her cool when Donnic showed up. To have a great female character who exists outside her availability as someone's LI would make a nice change. DAO had Sten, at least, and with no Bianca on the scene, Varric filled the role in DA2.

This is another good reason, I've never really thought Viv would be the type to want a relationship. She seems focused on power and nothing else. Even more so than Morrigan.
