Really, after 2+ years of harassment, it's not that funny anymore :P People aren't crazy because they like a certain character.

I know I know, I'll stop.  :P

It wouldn't be an issue of tolerance... It's not like he would be intolerant of them or hate them. But just feel like it would be inappropriate for him to be with an elf when his people enslave theirs.

It's a weak argument lol but stronger than anything against Cullen currently.

Other possible reasons for gating... "My former lover was a [insert race] and I don't know if I could ever be with a [insert race] again because it would only make me think of him/her."

would be a really bad reason for race gating though.... Cullen at least has shown negative views against qunaris (and dwarfs I think) in previous games.

Yes he's shown negative attitudes towards Qunari (the religion, not the people) and Oghren... who I'm sure we can all agree is a FABULOUS representative of his race lol

I should say, I find the Cullen thread intimidating because of how damn large it is.

he could still have prejudices against them because of their religion.

It just moves fast. He is an established character and we already had our old thread with all our connections and friendships and that carried over.

I highly doubt the game is going to force us to be part of any particular religious organization.

That's not what I wanna say. I'm saying he could have problems to judge Qunaris without seeing the Qun behind them, even if a particular Qunari is different.

And all it takes is one dialogue response to say, "But I do not follow the Qun; I follow Andraste's teachings."

Same with Dorrian. "Hey, I'm not into elves since they are oppressed in our country, and I feel bad with it." Not really story relevant in my eyes.

I... kinda hope it's Cullen. No offense to the Legions of Cullen fans (Seriously, that thread is intimidating) just... He's my least favorite :x

I consider myself a Cullen fan (besides being a Blackwall fan), but I'm not offended. I find the idea that gender and racial restrictions are grand as long as they happen to someone else problematic, i.e. "He's my least favorite," just as I am uncomfortable with the idea that an unequal LI distribution is "realistic" as long as my demographic gets more, but I can think of story reasons why Cullen might not be interested in a qunari, dwarven, or Dalish protagonist. So yeah, maybe it's Cullen. Or, maybe its somebody else. Because none of us know.

I'm having trouble following what you're trying to say, so never mind :)

Hmm. Liiiiike...? Other than religion?

If Vivienne is ungated and straight. I think it's Cassandra. She seems like the kind of woman who would have problems with Qunari, but I'm not sure.

I just wanna say, the elf inquisitor could also tell him: don't worry, I've never been in Tevinter before, so don't fear about our relationship...or something like this. It doesn't really make sense to gate him against elves, except there's a great background story. Otherwise it's just stupid gating. Our elven inquisitor hadn't been a tevinter slave....

That's right! We may have been crazy to start with.

Okay, I see. Yeah, I don't think it would be a good reason either. To me though it has slightly more reason behind it than Cullen being a devout Andrastian.

And actually I would love for Dorian to feel initially uncomfortable about being with an elf, but after awhile, he can't help who he's fallen in love with, blah blah blah... that would be romantic.

But whatever the case... someone has to be gated so our dear Blackwall remains ungated, so I nominate Dorian  Or Cass, yeah. We really know nothing about Cass.

I kinda head canon that Dorian knew Fenris when he was just "Leto." And that Leto initially belonged to Dorian's family before being given to Danarius...and Dorian was his friend.

:crying:

Well, the qunari because there was that thing where they burned down his city with him still inside it. I know, a qunari inquisitor is Vashoth and wasn't personally responsible, but it might have formed an impression. And dwarves because Oghren might not be the best ambassador for his people (that was always the shakiest). But yeah, Dalish would be about religion. I could easily see him not minding in the slightest that the inquisitor didn't share his faith, but I can also see where he might still harbor doubts. It would be up to the writers to decide where the line was drawn.

FWIW, I could also think of reasons why literally any of the others might have aversions to one race or another, so I'm not saying "Yeah, it's Cullen." But if they do race gate one of the other male LIs to balance the fact that Solaas is severely race gated, the other straight male might be one place to start.

*DIES*  :crying: I don't even like to think about his life as a slave. It's too painful. But wow.

You know there is actually a Dorian x Fenris fanfic out there

Oh, I know about that fanfic. Not gonna lie...I feel kinda squicky about those. I'm cool with Dorian and Fenris as friends lol, but not them having sex...

^^^I hear ya.

But, *shrugs* I'm just not seeing it with Cullen

Qunari PC: All it takes is one line of saying "I was not involved with that"; I have a hard time imagining Cullen responding with "Ah, I see. But still, you look like them, so I'm just not into it."

Dalish PC: Could say she does not believe in the Creators and is interested in learning about Andraste's teachings.

Dwarf PC: "Who's Oghren?" "Well he's this guy I met while I was trapped in a pink bubble after suffering days, possibly weeks, of torture..." "You're judging me based on that one incident??" "... I see your point. Let's go make out!"

:D

SEE!!!! That's my thing about Dorian being gated against elves. But... then again a Dalish guy would have nothing to do with a Tevinter slave. So even if Dorian were hesitant, the Dalish should be able to bring him around.
