i put both the troublemakers in here on my ignore list -- i really recommend anyone else they are upsetting to do the same, it really helps <3

I'd imagine a tad gruff (I mean he's a Grey Warden, not exactly the happiest profession). Maybe a little bit of Duncan mixed with a few splashes of Oghren's humor?

I would love that! I definitely would like the gruff, and if he had a bit of a dirty humor it certainly wouldn't repel me. :P I like people who know how to have fun

If Dorian and Blackwall combined their facial hairs to become one - it would take over the entire world... it would be a swooning epidemic.

Well, the dirty humor is confirmed isn't it? There was that concept art and he was put in Team Vulgar.

I imagine the dirty humor due to the concept art that featured him in the past (Yeah, yeah doesn't reflect the real game but come on you think they'd put characters in situations that don't reflect them?)

Certainly not adverse to gruff, especially gruff that's well deserved.

@Hydwn: some people called ladyofpayne 'troll' (then edited) only because she expressed her sexuality, and her sexuality is that she likes only straight men and feels uncomfortable with men who are bi. I've always been pro-gay marriage and I really despise every kind of discrimination, so I want to be free to talk about my sexuality freely just as you do. Sexuality is not a choice, so saying that Solas is a racist because he only likes elves (I read it) is as wrong as saying that a woman is homophobe because she's attracted only to straight men.

Please consider the way you framed your original statement, you basically said bisexual people are gross and you don't like them. Maybe you didn't intend it to come off that way. But it did to me, i apologize for losing my temper and calling you a bigot.

Truly, I need to make a Dwarf male when I go after Dorian. I could make the world explode with pure facial hair.

How do we think his personality will be? I'm hoping he'll be kinda hardened but with a soft side he keeps hidden. Cliche, but oh well :P

I hope he'll have a good sense of humor. Not like how Alistair was goofy sarcastic funny with one-liners, but able to have a good laugh at things, and not in a sardonic way. I think that since he's older, he's been around the block a couple of times, and experienced in more ways than one.

I just hope he doesn't have Carth Syndrome.

I'm more interested in how he's an idealist in a pragmatic organization.

That would be a run of mill thing IF he was a greenhorn warden, But he IS a veteran warden.

The type of person that can stick to his ideals in this kind of group is to me an interesting individual.

I see him as Duncan and Riordan combined. I tried flirting with both so much before I gave up it's embarrassing to recall even now.

Sad my first Inquisitor won't have much in the way of facial hair...

This is what happens when you wish to make a somewhat creepy mage. At best you get five o'clock shadow.

I don't really hear french when he's speaking... But he is shouting from the distance, so maybe that makes some difference on his voice. I can still kind of hear Rory McCann, though. I did some comparison listening to that clip, and to the Hound on youtube, and it's really close. Probably not close enough, though.

Don't hold me to this, but I think Blackwall's VA is Owen Teale.

I have to go with a fem!cadash for Blackwall on my first playthrough.

But on the second my Cadash will have the greatest beard of all beards.

Just re-posting Blackwall's profile interview with Sheryl Chee, so we can glean any tidbits of info about him.

Character Profile: Blackwall

[DRAGON AGE]: What is Blackwall's life like before he meets the Inquisition?

[SHERYL CHEE]: The Blight is ten years past. The Grey Wardens' prominence is decreasing again. The Wardens are known for their vigil; they keep watch for the darkspawn, for the Blight. But Blackwall isn't interested in just watching.  He is absolutely invested in the idea of the Grey Wardens of legend: those who place themselves between the people of Thedas and the oncoming Blight, acting as their shield.

[DA]: Would you say that he sees himself as a defender of the people?

[SC]: To him, that's a Grey Warden, someone who protects others, who takes a hit so someone else doesn't have to. And if that's a Grey Warden, then it's his moral imperative to act, even when there's no Blight. There's more evil in the world than just the darkspawn, and he believes it's his duty to do something about it. He lives by that old saying: "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."

[DA]: How does he become involved with the Inquisition?

[SC]: When the Inquisition tries to get in contact with the Grey Wardens, they find Blackwall. He's traveling on his own, a bit of a loner. But with the world spiraling out of control, Blackwall sees the Inquisition as Thedas's last hope to restore order, and he realizes that he'll probably be able to do more good with its backing than by himself.

[DA]: How would you describe Blackwall's character?

[SC]: He's a veteran. He's been through many battles, many conflicts, and he knows their price. He's aware that in wars, the people who call the shots are often safe in their fortresses. It's the soldiers who die. He's seen people with power abuse it and use it to manipulate others, and he absolutely hates that.

[DA]: How does he view himself in the hierarchy of war?

[SC]: He's not going to put himself above the rank and file. He's not better than them. At the end of the day, after all the talk about good and protecting people, he's going to want to have a round of drinks with the rest of the troops and share stories.

[DA]: What was it like for you to write his character in Inquisition?

[SC]: I had a great deal of fun writing Blackwall. At least part of it was asking why someone might find the Grey Wardens appealing. Why choose to be part of that? A heroic sacrifice is still a sacrifice. What sort of person could decide that dying for something is better than just living?

And I would love to say more, but I won't. Ask me again in October.

[DA]: Being good and just can sometimes rub other characters the wrong way. How does Blackwall fit in with his fellow companions in Inquisition?

[SC]: There are definitely characters that Blackwall enjoys the company of more than others. While he always keeps a close watch on his conduct, he loosens up around certain people. There's also the possibility that his relationships may change over time.

Oh definitely. Would be interesting to hear how he justifies holding onto those ideals.

From the promo it's pretty clear he feels the ideals of the Wardens are slipping. Maybe he will want to restore them?
