Someone said she posted celebratory fanart so I guess so..
Aww, I was hoping she'd post here in celebration. But ah well.

Maybe she will, or maybe she already has...I don't know ![]()
She did

Well my darker side had that feeling yes. I mean, I think the majority of people believed he would never be a romance option. Heck, even people here had doubts. I had. I OK with being skeptical, but people who outright said mean things like "you are fools to believe he will be a romance" or "lol he is old he will die by the taint" made me want retribution, but don't. I am glad that Blackwall turned out to be romancable, and don't want to sink to other people's level and be rude.
Had Blackwall not been romancable, I wouldn't want that kind if people commentating here.
I didn't comment on the thread, its just nice to see rude people turn out to be totally wrong. I wasn't saying what i said in a sinister way. just in a cheerful way.
Yeah, seen it bounce around the thread a couple times.
Personally, I can perfectly see his point of view. Fereldan made it's bed so it should sleep in it. It can be written off as cruel but there isn't anything he can do about it anyway.
It's interesting. It's the first time that I've seen it, and wow. He's not just a Grey Warden, he's a Grey Warden constable. Maybe even more than that, now that ten years have passed. Definitely mature and experienced. I think I'm going to be romancing him with a mature human female, like around 37 - 43 year old... But I don't know about what class. I like playing rogues, but I may try for a mage with him, and save my rogue for Solas.
It makes you wonder how long they had Blackwall in their minds for a character.
Well, the idea for Sera (Or at least a Elf Archer) had been bouncing around since the concept of 2.
So the rough older Warden probably has been around for a while.
If I remember right, Alistair was original lined up to be a gruff, grumpy sergeant type.
She did
Haha, awesome.
I mean she did post that on tumblr
Don't hold me to this, but I think Blackwall's VA is Owen Teale.
Owen Teale was suggested but Sheryl Chee shot him down on twitter.
I'm conflicted. From one hand I want Team Vulgar. From other hand torturing Cass with Sera's jokes... Love this tavern concept art

Decisions, decisions...
I'm so excited about Blackwall! And honestly, the romance is only a small part of it. We finally get a companion who's been a warden long enough to know what the organization is truly like. It's fascinating. And from what we've heard about his personality, I'm confident that I'll love him. He seem like a great guy with a good sense of humor, that sounds perfect to me!
@Hydwn: some people called ladyofpayne 'troll' (then edited) only because she expressed her sexuality, and her sexuality is that she likes only straight men and feels uncomfortable with men who are bi. I've always been pro-gay marriage and I really despise every kind of discrimination, so I want to be free to talk about my sexuality freely just as you do. Sexuality is not a choice, so saying that Solas is a racist because he only likes elves (I read it) is as wrong as saying that a woman is homophobe because she's attracted only to straight men.

Actually, yeah now that you mention it.
All past Warden characters were either in it not very long (Alistair, Bethany/Carver) or simply didn't care for it's organization (Anders)
Hell, even when we were Wardens we didn't get much input. The only Warden character we've had that would known much is the Orlesian Warden-Commander in Awakening and as far as I remember, they don't really mention it much.
Getting to know the Wardens straight from an experienced Warden's mouth would be interesting.
If a person was attracted to you, and you were attracted to them, why would you no longer be attracted to them if they also had the ability to be attracted to a different gender?
I'd like this if I had any left.
Thank you Allan, thank you so much.
Ha, now I see our PCs asking question after question about the Wardens and Blackwall eventually going, "All I wanted was to tell some jokes while having a drink..."
I'm torn as to whether I want to pair him up with a young and idealistic human or older qunari, full of noble purpose. Part of me likes the age difference thing, but another part of me is attached to the pair of equals who've both seen the worst of the world and want to save it anyway.
Blackwall, I never planned for you! You're making everything so deliciously difficult.

I guess Allan didn't realize that we managed to move past this topic civilly and are now staying on topic with Blackwall discussion.

I wonder how many headcanons he'll destroy. It's easy to see the wardens as a pure force for good, an organization of fairy tale heroes. Especially if you played a good aligned Warden. And most of the wardens we've met have been good people. But then we have things like the Legacy DLC and the Calling that show you a much darker side of the wardens. I guess the clue is in the name, they're grey. ![]()
Speaking from experience, believe me, it's a thing. There's a lot more biphobia about than people care to admit I think.
As a Bi man myself, it's absolutely everywhere.
Was it so that someone got gameplay pic of Blackwall without helmet? Or am I making things up again

I personal never believed them to be a pure force. Alistair says so himself in Origins that they do some nasty things to end the Blights.
Hell, I had pre-ordered Origins and had access to Warden's Keep so I got to see first hand some of the dark things they'll do.
It's what made me love the Wardens so much, myself. Something about organizations like that fascinate me, even if it's just in the almost self-destructive focus they have on their goals.

Well there's also warden's keep
But they surely will destory more that couple headcanons. Which make's me glad I have come to conclusion Warden's WILL have more than few sceletons in their closet

The Wardens are a very 'Any means neccesary' organization. We see it several times with Duncan murdering Jory, the Legacy, The Calling. I think a lot of Blackwalls story will revolve around his issues with what the Wardens have done.

I agree, I never saw them as a group of knights in shining armor. And even my good wardens did some nasty stuff! Like saving the anvil and siding with the Architect (for science!).
My Warden's also done more than one questionable decicion. I just wonder how Blackwalls idealist parts will match with "what ever it take's" mentality of the wardens
