So what would the Inquisitor be Snow?

...Cause I'm okay with that. I'm pretty okay with that.

Owen Teale was suggested but Sheryl Chee shot him down on twitter.

Huh. So she did. If its not him the only other actor I can think of that sounds like that is Steven Waddington but I would've cheerfully put money on Owen Teale.

Gotta admit it, I was planning my Sigrun-inspired rogue Cadash for Varric and switched to Blackwall (along with every other Inq who wasn't bound for Dorian, Sera, Bull and Solas) after I saw Aimo's first team Cadash/Blackwall ship.  It was like a lightbulb going off - perfect!

For me, Blackwall being a warden doesn't conflict with the shining knight trope.  Wardens do have a darker side.  Duncan was conscripted to save (?) him from the gallows after murdering a warden, and still had time for petty theft (that wound up saving his life.)  The point was his focus.  He had a job to do.  Sir Launcelot was supposed to be the paragon of knightly virtue but still wound up siring an illegitimate son and breaking up his best friend and king's marriage.  Nobility can mean honor despite (not because of) a bit of tarnish.  Cassandra had Varric hauled off and dragged to be interrogated in a dark room with a light in his face and there's that whole book-stabbing thing.  She said she'd let Varric go, but I don't think he believed her right up until the last scene.  I also think of Loghain, who was definitely a hero whose actions wound up compromising him.  To his daughter, who loved him, he would always be a hero, even if the rest of Ferelden only agreed if he was allowed to make the US.

Dudley Doright and Percy Perfect were pretty boring, and they belong in cartoons.  They're kind of like anti-villains more than heroes.  On a seemingly un-related note, one of the reasons those holiday family newsletters go straight into the trash can in my house is because I have no interest in people who lead perfect lives.  Send me a letter rejoicing that Junior's home and I'll rejoice with you because we've talked before and I know that you missed him while he was in jail.  If all I know is that he's home, Sissy's made the dean's list for the 4th time straight, and darling hubby is CEO now, I've got better fiction to read.

Speaking of Aimo and her art, I really like The Sock Saga. Too cute! I might just have to make a female Cadash for my playthrough with Blackwall, after all. It's like it's practically canon. :D

The knight in shining armor archetype is one of my favorites in all its various forms. I like it played straight (NOT a reference to sexuality, merely the literal interpretation of that trope) because I'm into the idealism of that. I don't find it boring because of the way it's usually portrayed: the character is thrown into situations that will almost certainly shatter the illusions and destroy the dream. It becomes a tragedy, and that's always good for evoking the feels (think, Carrot from Terry Pratchett's Discworld or Keldorn from BGII). I like it in it's "knight in tarnished armor" incarnation, where the character is *not* perfect (and may have never been), but tries to overcome his or her darker side and do the right thing anyway (I've got a feeling that Blackwall is going to wind up in this category, but Casavir is another example, if an under-written one). I like the "knight in sour armor" trope, which is similar to the tarnished armor one, except that the character is equipped with a healthy dose of sarcasm, knows that ultimately his or her efforts will be futile, and does it anyway (think, Sam Vimes).

As for the family letter thing, I don't mind because I enjoy imagining the (possibly fictional) subtext that Junior is home from jail, Sissy has no friends, and Darling Husband is banging the VP. I'm a terrible person, but that was never in any doubt.

Not yet. I bet if we asked, they'd probably say

"Soon."

Oh hell, I'm gonna twitter Mike and ask him anyway.

Aimo's art makes me want a dwarf-Blackwall romance a lot, but I'd planned my first dwarf for IB. Which probably means a qunari-BW romance; now I just have to think of a personality for her.

Who was supposed to be Team Vulgar besides IB and BW? Sounds like the group I'll enjoy most, at least with my dwarf.

I like this image of me being a secretive schemer holding all her cards to her chest. It's not entirely inaccurate. To be honest however, I just don't know what the rules are for releasing the names of voice actors, and therefore prefer to play it safe.

(I will say that it's not Rory McCann, Owen Teale, or Steven Waddington. So there's that.)

Guys.....Sheryl Chee just gave me a like....is this what it feels like to be touched by a celebrity ?

But seriously, that narrows down the VO possibilities a bit. Anyone got anymore guesses ?

Ha ha, can I touch you now or would that diminish the God aura? As for voices I have no clue.

VO? I was hoping for Sean Bean or Charles Dance (in my VO dreams). I've heard the clip but I have absolutely no idea who that is.

I'm gonna throw out another Game of Thrones actor: Stephen Dillane who plays Stannis Baratheon. The way they say castle is very similar.

That's not a bad idea to be honest. They do seem to love grabbing people from Torchwood.

I dunno...there's a fair amount of GoT actors too. Gwendoline Christie's still a mystery. She could be Blackwall! :P Or Sean Bean. My mum says he's Sean Bean. (I doubt it myself)
