Just popping in to say congrats, and how excited I am that Blackwall is an LI option (I honestly hadn't expected it...because I've been wrong about almost every single LI related thing so far, so, way to keep my track record, I guess). But...Stephen Dillane? If that's true, then, well, this:

Also, has anyone stopped to question what Blackwall's full name is ? Blackwall sounds like a surname to me.
Yeah, I have a hard time imagining a mother saying "If you don't stop teasing your brother this minute, Blackwall, I'm going to put you in the timeout chair 'til you're thirty!"
I finally decided who to romance Blackwall with! I shifted all my planned Inquisitors around and decided that Meeras, my Dalish rogue will get a gender change to be female for him haha. She is very curious about the outside world, and who else would pique her interest but the ever worldly and beefy warden? 
Maybe its his new name its not uncommon to change your name when joining a monothesic order(or the like)
It's possible. It could just be a nickname that stuck. We'll probably learn his full name in game.

Also his natural accent is Lancashire/Northern, and I know some of us here kinda heard a Northern accent?
I wonder where we will recruit him, if we are to trust the gamescon demo as a timeline, we get him pretty early.
Maybe we do get him when we....attack or help the Grey Wardens? I really hope we can help them instead of attacking them like in one of the earlier trailers.

I don't think he'll die in the game for the simple reason of postgame DLC. I think they'll make it clear it's soon-ish though.

I don't think it is Stephen Dillane. That being said, he would be excellent casting for Blackwall or any DA character.
I was always going to play a female human rogue first so that is who Blackwall is getting (and probably everything I play after that too). I am excited that I can make a character my age in game and romance someone my age.
I also don't think there will be any scripted companion deaths since we can play past the end of the story and for dlc purposes. Not saying they can't die if you mess up though

Darkspawn (and Grey Wardens) may exist because of demon-induced corruption, right? And David Gaider once said that by merging with Justice, Anders may have become immune to the taint. In DAI, there are going to be veil tears opening up everywhere. I'm wondering if may alter the way Grey Wardens succumb to the taint. Maybe that black dagger Duncan found, the one that saved him from the amulets Remile gave them, was some kind of Fade artifact.
But yeah, heartache is imminent, I fear.

I'll wait for the first encounter before I dare hope for that. With Thane, it was clear there wouldn't be a happy end right from the first encounter. Also, it's quite possible that the writers want to bring home to us exactly what it means to be a Warden, and Blackwall appears to be the type who accepts the full consequences of his choice to join them. As much I would want him to cheat his fate, that version is much trickier to write well, and i'd rather have a well-written tragic romance than a badly-written happy one.
Do do hope, though, that he'll be able to cheat his fate, not mainly because of the happy end to the romance (though that's obviously a factor), but because I like it if people can cheat apparently pre-ordained or inevitable fates.
