Any speculation regarding his VA? I keep listening to the one clear phrase we've heard, and I swear up and down that I've heard that voice before. It's driving me crazy that I can't place it!

A few bits of speculation. Some examples of Voice Actors have found almost exactly like he did in the video. Otherwise, nope we haven't a clue.

It's gonna turn it to be like Allegra and was just hanging out in the thread the whole time.

Don't you mean it drives you up the wall? rimshot.gif

10/10 are here because they're interested in his character.  Most of his fans have been around since we had a bit of concept art with a bearded warrior wearing warden armor.  A lot of people want to see what's going on with him.

Yes. There is also hope and some calculations. Say I like almost all Sheryl Chee's characters (except Awekening's Oghren) and I'm looking forward to see how her first male romanceable companion is written. And I usually like female characters by David Gaider (male, not so much.) So I'm looking forward to Cassandra and cautious about Dorian.

And the one phrase we've heard was shouting. Not very good for guessing.

Regarding the other thing: yep, we know almost nothing about him, Which is something of a source of anxiety for me because I keep being drawn to female qunari despite my best efforts. So not liking him is a larger blow.

Not much on jokes or levity are you? Sorry for that.

You said "interesting", not "funny". :P

I can appreciate either, but they're not the same.

I still think his VA is Stephen Dillane personally.

Re: topics.
1. I'm expecting some info dump about Grey Wardens from the incoming novel "Last Flight". It was rather disappointing for me, that despite GW being the central theme of DAO we know so little about them. We had very little time with Duncan, and Alistair knew not much more then our Warden (useless rookie!).
2. One of the trailers shows Inquisition attacking GW Fortress (possible? unavoidable?). We'll be dealing with them, that's for sure. Allies or enemies, we should know more about them.
3. The leak

Spoiler

4. Both Flemeth and Morrigan talk about staying on the precipice of change. Something big is brewing. Thedas is going on the wild ride. Mages, Templars, Andrastian Chantry, Old Gods, darkspawn, Grey Wardens - who knows? (Well, BioWare does, obviously)
So, obviously, Blackwall will be involved in all these big events and he will have his own story arc (they all do). Maybe he will reassess his values a lot. So they can do a lot with him. Concentrating on the Calling - well, for me, sounds like an overkill. That doesn't mean the Calling will not be part of his story. I just hope it will not be the cental, main part.

Last Flight seems like it's going to be really neat. I'm looking forward to it.

I couldn't resist it even with my most serious Lord Aeducan. Yay, griffons!

I think we all hope that. He'll be involved in that Warden business one way or the other, I think we can count on that. There may be a decision where we can try to free the Wardens from a certain mental influence or kill them all, and Blackwall will probably have strong opinions in that regard.

I'm rereading Asunder and where Adamant fortress is was one place griffons had their eyries.  Some of the spoilers from Last Flight

Spoiler
It looked like the Adamant fortress job was a rescue mission, but some of the demos were changed to make them less spoilerific.  Looks like a lot of potential there that a companion might shed some light on.

Oh my, this picture is awesome. Might there be a way to get this into the OP as a sort of thread title picture? IMO that's how good it is.

Also, may I mention how odd it feels to become a fan of a male LI character in a game as a straight male? Half of me - the part that's playing my (usually female)  characters - gets this butterfly-like feeling when looking at him and the other half wants to be like him. I've always wondered how much I'm really getting into a woman's mindset when roleplaying my characters. Well, this aspect appears to be working.

Adamant Fortress is featured in the Last Flight? Interesting.

It  certainly is in the game.

If we can have pictures that are that good now, I can't imagine what will happen in November. :P

Butterflies, yes...

In my experience, pictures like that come once or twice in a character's lifetime (counting meaningful forum presence). We certainly didn't have more than two in Miranda's threads between early 2010 and when they closed the characters and romance forum.

Really? That was unfortunate. I didn't follow Miranda's thread very closely, only remember I liked her picture where she is sitting with an omnitool in darkness, looking very thoughtful, can't remember the artist.

Edit. Found it.

Spoiler

I hope Dragon Age will fare better both in art and in don't-close-romance-forum-because-fans-infighting departments.

It looks art affects even  the evil dudes. :D

I'm so thrilled we have such talented artists among the Blackwall fan base.  I'm going to be going nuts on it when the game's out and we get some screenshots to drool over inspire us and some actual personality tidbits to make him come alive.  Aimo's dog person  sketch and Lady Cadash adventures are epic in my book, and the art that features the stern, vigilant warrior shows the stuff of which heroes are made.  A couple other details, like real name and motivation for leaving the wardens are tantalizing rumors that demand investigation and may provide food for thought.  How many Warden-Constables did Orlais have after Gennivieve?  Blackwall wasn't her successor, was he (there had to be one other - who was he or she and did anything happen in the wardens that Blackwall doesn't know about?)  Why is the burned out-husk of a fortress described in Asunder a plot point location in DAI?

So, yeah, squee!

That is, indeed, the best Blackwall picture I've seen so far. And theirs been some damn good ones.

As for his story arc, I'm going to guess it will be about how the Wardens have changed and that they no longer match up with his Ideals. I'm assuming he'll play a rather large role in any Grey Warden plot lines as well.

The only real negative feedback I could give is that he looks a little too young. But it's still an amazing picture.
