The only real negative feedback I could give is that he looks a little too young. But it's still an amazing picture.

Doesn't have to be the Inquisition time. Besides, artistic license and all that. :)

True, like I said, I still love it.

I'm hoping for updated screens soon. Varric looks quite different in newer screens and I'm curious about Blackwall.

It does seem like we've been waiting a long time for better photos of a few of them.

I don't even know what I'm doing after my first Inquisitor... and I feel I'll leave it that way until that Inquisitor is done and living nice and safe in Skyhold with Josephine (WITH NO BAD ENDING NONSENSE BIOWARE)

I want to repost this song, frankly because I can see both my Inquisitor and Blackwall singing this around a campfire together one night:

I'd definitely like to see some new screens. Judging by the ones from Pax, it looks like he's changed quite a bit.

I still think his VA is Stephen Dillane personally.

I've been seeing this same idea across the web on different forums and such when I go googling Blackwall's VA. Apparently a lot of other people hear that same actor in the voice, so it's possible! That would be awesome! I just hope he's not so much like Stannis Baratheon.

Actually, I guess Stannis is pretty cool. It's that red witch lady that's manipulating him that might be the problem.

Yes. There is also hope and some calculations. Say I like almost all Sheryl Chee's characters (except Awekening's Oghren) and I'm looking forward to see how her first male romanceable companion is written. And I usually like female characters by David Gaider (male, not so much.) So I'm looking forward to Cassandra and cautious about Dorian.

This is glorious and deserves to be seen on another page. He looks like someone here... I can't place who. I mean, besides Blackwall.

I think it's either him or that fellow from Dragon Commander.

Alistair Parker?

Yup, that guy sounds very similar. Wish we had some more Blackwall dialogue to work with, would make narrowing down the VA easier.

Heh, I was going to say Richard Armitage.

...But come to think of it, you're right.

I wanted to follow that up with an image of a man with a particularly drastic beard, whether a real person or work of art, but when Googling "best beard" I found Mandy Patinkin instead:

Also for whoever was asking about his voice, he does not sound orlesian.  You can hear his voice in this video at 6:41ish:  https://www.youtube....h?v=PjRI_Y_d7Jk

You'll know it's him, there is a speech bubble next to his portrait when he speaks. He says "Don't waste time on them, head for the castle."

I feel he sounds a lot like  Richard Armitage, which if it is would be pretty cool!  @ Hadeedak, I feel he looks like Thorin too!

I hope so because I swear to the Maker if one more person claims that Blackwall=Thane.....

karen-******-slap-o.gif

It is my biggest fear!   :(

Any speculation regarding his VA? I keep listening to the one clear phrase we've heard, and I swear up and down that I've heard that voice before. It's driving me crazy that I can't place it!

Hoping its Richard Armitage!

Oh, yeah! He does look like Kili, especially if he had brown eyes. Good catch there!

That would be neat, but it seems kind of unlikely.

About the much reviled Blackwall/Thane analogy: I do not get the same vibes from them at all.

Thane is an Atoner and a Deathseeker. He's basically just waiting to wrap-up his life. There is a palpable aura of goodbye and foreshadowed grief in almost every part of his story. Just watch his intro in ME2, with his words, the music and the image of a setting sun behind his shoulders. I would be extremely surprised - and greatly disappointed - if Blackwall was in any way similar. I expect a man in his prime, with death somewhere not too far in the future but still fully connected to the world he lives in, with a few things to regret (who hasn't got those) but nothing he needs to atone for, a man whose dedication to a cause hasn't removed his ability to enjoy the good moments in life to the fullest, like drinking a fine wine, knowing the supply is limited.

Maybe that's just my hope speaking, but I really think he might be somewhat like that. And I hope that's not something everyone else here would dislike... I feel like walking on eggs if I lean out of the window with my preferences like this.

You pretty much summed up what I'm expecting of Blackwall in that xD
