Here's a pretty clear sample of his voice, from one of the demos. Same thing we've heard, but a tad clearer. There's a few samples from the other companions here as well.

I'm still not 100% convinced it isn't Simon Templeman.

I know some people got 'uncomfortable' when companions flirted first, but I liked it. It was realistic and interesting that some companions had an initial attraction to you and weren't just oblivious waiting for your cheesy pick-up lines to notice you. It just seems so weird that the PC always has to make the first move, and you could turn it around and say they must be the ultimate creeper potentially making everyone uncomfortable in that case. :P

That art is lovely, btw. But that swords placement is indeed a bit... discomforting. xD

Lurking for awhile.  Wanted to post after I read/skimmed through all the posts and it's taken me days to get to the end of the thread.... what a delightful place!

I'm thrilled to have Blackwall as an LI.  I think I may play a hardened Inquisitor in her thirties first which is around my age..... so looking forward to meeting this seasoned man.  I've never been a beard person, but I think I'm converting as of late!  The beardy guys are looking more mature and attractive to me as I get older.  I'd hate to see a tragic Calling ending since I seem to have been stuck with sad 1st playthroughs in previous games (elven Warden couldn't be Alistair's queen and Anders caused much angst).

Not sure what race I'll choose.  May go for qunari since she looks awesome and since I'll probably pair fem dwarf with Iron Bull.  Bored of always playing fem human and elf.

I'm currently headcanoning a Blackwall as a guy who simply did not have time nor interest in a long-term relationship till now.  Just because he is older doesn't mean he has to have a long past LI backstory.  Some people get into the LI business late because there are other important/interesting things to do.  So I imagine him dedicated to his Warden-y things until he meets the Inquisitor and discovers that companionship and love are things he'd like to have in his life too.

I also like when companions flirt first. I'd be down for that. I just want an option to turn them down gently if I'm not interested though. The way they handled Anders was horrible, and I really really hope if they have included it in the game, that they don't do it that way.

Which isnt a bad thing considering how many people (justifiably) bitched about Anders getting mad when you reject him. People might feel uncomfortable if they're just trying to be friendly to some companions and they come on to them.

I admit I'm one of them. It gets on my nerves and I rather the PC initate it. (or at least have the PC hit an innocent heart option and then have the NPC flirt.) But having npcs just hit on me tends to make me uncomfortable rather than flattered.  (Unless it's done in awkward turtle way like Fenris XD )

Yeah, exactly. The idea is what I like, but the way they initiated was poor. If the PC can flirt with whomever they please I just think it's only fair and practical other characters should. Just like how I would like to see other characters forming relationships and not being the only one in the party involved in that as well... it just feels weird sometimes. Some flirtation lines we have to start out with have honestly made me think "egh no", so at times I'd actually prefer it so I didn't always have to feel that way. Plus it feels nice to sometimes be the one being pursued than always pursuing. I don't think we should get any kind of negative points for turning someone down or asking them to stop, though. x.x

I have Zevran ninja me more than once and it's heck annoying losing 20 approval on it <_< I like the idea of being flirted at times but they need to be clearer than they been at points in past and there got to have ability to turn down without losing approval at the begining. Well the romance is well under way I understand ending it being dissaproval point but to turn down the flirting thing getting dissaproval, annoying as h*ll

Ummm....did you all see Andrew Ryan's drop dead gorgeous Blackwall?

NSFW, only linking it.

I wandered in to see what's going on here because I'm really liking Blackwall and thinking about romancing him. Then I saw this...

I... I think I'm going to stay.

NPC flirt.
The way I see it, it should depend on the personality. Some people are more flirty than the other. Say, Sera or Bull can make a move on you, while Blackwall and Cullen would be more cautious and would expect some hints from you.
Uproar about Anders was mostly because how it was handled (no polite letdown, hissy fit and rivalry points). That's because Anders is a douchebag though, and people did not expect such behavior after Awakening. The timing was awful too. "Hey, I just killed my boyfriend/close friend, how about sexy times?!" Creepy. Isabela hits on you too, nobody was offended, it's Isabela, she flirts with everyone.
Ninjamance was bad, though. (No, Kaidan, I didn't give you mixed signals, I was just polite. On later playthrough I had to jump through several loops to avoid this situation completely.)

Even the discomfort is realistic. It's very awkward when someone you are not interested in and had no idea was interested in you suddenly comes on to you. It's embarrassing because most people don't want to be mean and say 'tough, I don't like you' or something like that. It's like: I'm not interested but I don't want to hurt them either. What do I do?

I prefer PC-initiated flirts because BW has a bad habit of not giving the PC a polite way to refuse.

Oh, god. Don't remind me.

Companion:

"Is it okay that I am flirting with you, PC?"

PC:

1: "Only if it's okay that I can flirt back." [SEXY POSE WITH CREEPY SMILE FACE]
2: "No. And if you ever disrespect me that way again, I will punch you."

I'm never super nice to Anders in DA2 because even though I hate him I try not to meta-game and Hawke's rejection is awful.

I just don't like how often the PC's flirts are so awkward and are not the thing I want to communicate (desire for a one-night stand). It's more bothersome if that dialogue choice is the only way to lock in a romance.

(Paraphrase below)

Vector in SWTOR: Am I reading signals wrong, or do you want our relationship to be more than just professional?

Female Agent in SWTOR: Come into my bedroom sometime and find out. *wink*

One good thing about having the romances divvied between so many writers is I am bound to find at least one approach I like. ^_^

I think I'm in the minority here, so I'll back down.  If flirting is confined to NPCs, at least no one has to worry about approval hits.  There's always Team Vulgar and "Mayhem!" to lighten the mood with companions.  Looking forward to Inq being able to participate in banter this time.

I don't really have a preference on who initiates. I do know that I'd love to have my intended LI step in to c*ck block another's advances. I want Blackwall to put the kibosh on someone... for science.  ;)

I felt the same with Zevran. I really like him, so when my warden rejected him - since he was gonna romance Leliana - it made me feel kinda awful.

You basically have to tell him that his gazing at the warden is bothering you.

Um...  I'm not sure I like the voice... :(  The voice in the example sounds really goonish...  like a villain from home alone...  Especial the way he says Castle is especially dumb sounding... :(

*Hopes and prays this was just a bad clip, or it doesn't sound as bad when we see him actually saying it* :(  I was expecting a more gruff voice, a bit of a sexy growl to it...

That voice doesn't sound old, it sounds derpy in that clip :(  *cries*  Being older is even more a reason for a gruff voice :(

You can skip that "you're staring at me" line of conversation altogether. Unless you have a burning need to exhaust all dialogue. That is Zevran's default romance starter line, like Alistair's "has anyone told you you're handsome" line.

Yeah I have a need to exhaust all dialogue :P

But youre right. It is possible to just avoid the option :)
