Yeah both genders are just as bad as each other. Heck, some of the daydreams I've had over Blackwall were things I was horrified over when it was a female character.

There's a poll going on to change it. Last I checked, the leading contender was 'Storm the Casstle'
That's much better, I'm all for that !

Ouch.
Cassanova was a popular one too.

Yeah, I couldn't believe they actually put that in the thread title. I'm not a fan of this catchphrase custom in the first place, and things like this don't help.(Still not a fan of the new Cassandra thread catchphrase.
)
On the other side of the equation, there's the Iron Bull thread.

They said no Cassanova due to the fact that it doesn't have a verb. I like that one too.
I dunno, some of the ladies on here can get a little sleazy too. The Bull thread is a perfect example of this.
I'm aware, I guess I just... Had a LOT of bad experiences with men I was very uncomfortable around... Has happened less with women. The women who do it are usually less predatory. Whereas the men I dealt with where actual players, who regularly lied to and manipulated women, bragged about it, and were dead beat dads with children with multiple mothers. Ok I admit they weren't all that extreme, but I have been around men that fit all that.

...I'm not particularly bothered by it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It's just more obvious about innuendo.

8D And my experiences have been some pretty... Not so good women.
I won't get into it because personal issues but yeah, I can get the discomfort.

Just for reference, I think bagging on other threads is frowned down on in the forum. I remember at least once where the Cullen thread got a warning about it.

Yes, Cass deserves better than these thread titles.
No worries, my Mr Adaar will make up for it ![]()

We're not really bagging on them, just saying they're a little more sexual than some of the other threads.

I always look at it this way.
Theirs not bad women or bad men. Theirs just bad people. And you have to look out for them, regardless of gender.

He REALLY sounds like that guy in that clip from Divinity Dragon Commander that was posted (Alastair Parker, right?), with less of a ... drunken slurry quality, haha.
Woah, I found a clip of some of that guy's voice work. Definitely sounds like him.

I'm pretty certain it's him at this point. He seems to fit the bill pretty well.

So, question for y'all. What attracted you (in a romantic or non-romantic way) to the character of Blackwall, based on what's been said so far? Just curious to hear all your thoughts.
For me, I'm getting the sense of the archetypical grizzled veteran who fights by a specific code; protect the innocent. I also love that we're finally seeing a Grey Warden who represents the actual legends about the order. So far, the only Wardens in game to act like "actual" Wardens have been Duncan and Riordan, and we don't get to see them too much. It'll be nice having a long-time Warden who isn't using crazy blood magic or committing heinous acts " for the greater good".
What about y'all?

Received Pronunciation. What most non-Brits think of when they think of British accents.

Received Pronunciation. It's like... the general, classic (maybe that's the wrong word...) English accent.

Aha! That's what they tried to teach us in school.
@AshesEleven.
A combination of many factors. When I first saw that execution concept art, I was very intrigued: what's going on here? I'm very interested in Grey Wardens and was disappointed how their organization was handled in DAO: very little information, rookie Warden as a companion, both veterans die pretty soon. So he picked up my interest. Then I found out he was Sheryl Chee character. Awesome! Hers are my favourites. Then a concept of manly looking noble knight with a sense of humor. And finally, he is handsome! Not a pretty boy, but mature grown up man. As someone who found Canderous and Sagacious Zu much more interesting than their romanceable counterparts, he is perfect.

What got my attention was the quote, I'd decided my Inquisitor would have the same self-sacrificing nature. And it just kind of spiraled from there.

Same. That and I like the idea of an older guy, maybe a romance that isn't so...rom-com typical. Strong, steady, and mature. And apparently with a raunchy sense of humor at times. The sense of duty was a big pull, too. Probably why I like Cullen, too - they both remind me of military boys (and I'm a military brat...and gf of an infantryman Cx So it goes hand in hand).
