I was (deleted profile) on the Solas thread a while back. But I only play dwarven ladies, so i'll be romancing Blackwall (not a Cullen fan). That said, in some of the images of Blackwall...he looks a bit like my dad:unsure:

I'll get over it...at least I hope I can when the time comes:P

the old lead....

Spoiler

Or the new one?

Spoiler

The old one.  I just keep picturing the tent scene where Spartacus is captured by the Romans.  The new one's face is a little too square.

Oh, you mean you weren't picturing the scene where he was painted gold? I hear gold paint make a really good armor.

Lol!  Noooo! Nooo! (Can't unsee...)  From my point of view, the first Spartacus seems to have similar angular facial features, and a similar build as Blackwall.  I will have to refrain from yelling, "Spartacus!" while running a group with Blackwall.  :D  Should make for an interesting first play through though.  And, who knows...there are some pretty creative modders out there.  ;)

I have to admit that I'm not crazy about Blackwall with the helmet on. There aren't many photos of him without it, though, are there? :/

There aren't.  There was that one scene of him hacking away on some guy in that trailer, but nothing up close and high res.  His hair looks slicked back and soft-looking, though!

Maybe he really just likes his helmet.

I fear that Blackwall will ruin me. And I'm pretty sure there won't be a happily ever after ending when it comes to the romance department so... yeah, thanks Bioware, once again

Happy ending is not Bioware's thing. I think my only PC who managed to get away with it was the Spirit Monk. "And then Wu the Lotus Blossom lived long and happy life with her beloved Impress Sun Lian. Yay!" Can't say for BG though.

Uhu, and Leliana really loves her hood, and Vivienne really-really loves her hats. :P  More like Frostbite hates hair.

Mixed feelings about Blackwall. He claims that the Grey Wardens of Orlais are politically neutral, but I don't believe it, even if he himself is.

That the Empress demand an entire host of chevaliers accompany the Orlesian Grey Wardens was something short of an invasion, in my book. Loghain was right to be wary of them. I was always of the opinion that Orlais forced Ferelden to either submit to the Empire, or face the darkspawn alone. Celene was trying to marry Cailan, after all.

Well, hopefully Blackwall will be nothing like those insufferable, arrogant Orlesian fops.

The last one you said, sadly, have anyone seen how gorgeous looks Geralt's hair (and skin, and face and everything else) in The Witcher 3? >.<

Ok, I love Bioware games, I think they are the best for many reasons, but I still don't understand many of their choices, like the silent warden in DAO, the 'Big Jim' hair which looks and behaves like a single piece of plastic -.-

YAY for Blackwall toggle helmet anyway!!!

Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights:HOTU had mostly positive endings if you played a good character (can't say so much for the evil), except for Viconia's which was.. yeah, not nice. :( Though not at all surprising considering she made an eternal enemy of the goddess Llolth - the Drow's beloved Spider Queen.

For player-made mods, they were mostly positive too, although Xan - before he got his ending revised - only had sad and sadder.

My favourite ending was the good ending for Kivan's romance (with my human), but then I'm dang crazy for that man. <3 <3

Aaaanyway.

Although I agree that Blackwall's helmet aint too pretty, I really don't care about that. I know I'm gonna love the man himself, and armor isn't meant to look pretty; If it does look pretty, that's just a bonus.

Let it be functional and then imagine you're puling the helmet off and releasing that glorious mane of hair he has.. and then taking him by surprise when you ravish him right there and then.

..with the rest of your party looking everywhere else - except Bull who would be watching with a leer and Sera who would be cheering you on,

Solas (with his back turned): 'So am I the only one looking away now? The only one who doesn't care to know why they are making those ungodly sounds?' (sighs) '...and they wonder why I isolate myself. Animals.'

Come on, you know the price for such detailed and pretty Geralt model - customization. Geralt is one model only without much alterations during the game. Not that I don't want to lay my grabby hands on him... well, mostly on Yennifer. Cough.

In case you missed it, that's what D.Gaider says about limitations in character's design.

http://dgaider.tumbl...ame development

As for me, I don't care much about clipping. It should be on the player who chooses some fancy hairstyles. I chose long and curly hair (modded) for my Amell in Origins, because it suited her and she wanted to look pretty. My other Wardens would roll their eyes on that, practical lot they were.

And the price for voiced PC is less dialogue options. BioWare goes with cinematic aproach in latest games. It's their choice.

@Eri

Thanks. I picked up both BG games on Steam but don't have time to get to them yet. :(

My new predicament is choosing between mad alchemist (tempest) and engineer (artificer) for my Cadash rogue. Sigh.

Never ask Leliana about the Warden & Alistair if you’re busy a busy bee, Inquisitor…

Note to myself: Ask Leliana about everything! With all the juicy details!

Oh god that comic...*dies laughing*

I'm really thinking human tempest archer. She's not crazy. She has a hobby. Where things occasionally explode. And she loves stories.

I wonder how Blackwall, Varric and Solas would do for a team. All the stories an overly romantic girl could want.

Never saw that, but yeah, I was thinking about this too. Approval is between Blackwall and the other character:

King Alistair: Blackwall would probably see his rise to King as a dereliction of his duty. Little respect, really. -10 approval

Loghain: Depends. Did he make the Ultimate Sacrifice? If so, Blackwall approves +5. If not, -15 approval for not letting the Orlesian Wardens into Ferelden. Hell, he might have even TALKED to Loghain, because Loghain would be at Montsimmard.

Anders: -20 approval for desertion and his acts of violence.

Oghren: +10 approval for joining the Wardens and not leaving

Nathaniel: +10 for joining and not leaving

Sigrun: +30 for being a Warden and Legion of the Dead

Velanna: -10 approval. Only joined the Wardens for her sister, wanting to side with the Architect.

Carver: +5 approval. Good Warden, just needs to shut up about his brother.

Bethany: Neutral. She hates being a Warden, but Blackwall probably would feel bad for her, feeling that this life isn't for everyone.

Warden: Hard to say, really. It all depends on what choices the PC makes. Blackwall probably would largely dislike my character, because she married Alistair to be Queen, did the Dark Ritual, and is also strictly anti-Orlesian (Leliana being one of the few exceptions).

My first femquis (the one I depicted in the art) will be a human archer also!  Not really for any other reason besides my main canon Warden was a warrior and my main canon Hawke was a mage.

I have an even sillier reason--the archer abilities sounded cool. The tempest just adds some spice from an RP perspective.

Greetings from the Josie thread. :)  Since Ms. Clark the VA of Josie told us that she will be romancing Blackwall on her first run I made a lil meme just for sh*ts and giggles. :P

What would happen if you put Blackwall's beard and Varric's chest hair together?  Would it be like velcro?

Thank you very much ^^ Actually I had missed it and it's very interesting, I never focused on the technical details before If a realistic hair or a voiced warden mean having less characters in the game and simpler dialogues, I don't care about plasticky hair and silent wardens anymore ;)
