This is NOT helping with my conviction that Blackwall looks like my husband + years+ MOAR BEARD.

 

That's going to make things hilariously weird, since I'll pretty much inevitably be doing my first playthrough with him watching with interest.

Think that's bad, in his earliest pics, he looked a lot like my ex. Thankfully they've slowly changed him so there isn't as much resemblance now (the blue eyes and voice really helped). I was having some VERY mixed feelings about Blackwall for a while (Aimo's drawings helped a lot too).

I'm ready to stop lurking and post a bit! I thought it would be interesting to see the artwork verses the game footage that we have. So have them side by side. He definitely looks leaner in the artwork. I'll be curious if his in-game model has changed to reflect this.

This thread freaks me out a little more then the IB thread, and that says something lol

 

i find it funny though, that people prioritize grey hair on the grey warden and that he should be a muscle daddy (or bear if you know what i mean;)).

 

Imagine if Blackwall was a women and size got into the topic, " we want her BIGGER!, damn you Bioware, make her STURDY!" XD

 

but i digress, i have also wanted a romance option that looks like this, but i´m kinda torn between most male romance options as it is so but Blackwall is high up there

I was really into to Blackwall at first, but then other characters like Solas, Dorian, and Cole caught my eye, and he kinda drifted away from my focus. These picture definitely made me love him, and his beard all over again!

I don't see how having preferences is a bad thing. Some people like skinny, lean men. Some people like masculine and rugged looking men and express their desire to see such men. What's wrong with that? I'm happy we have other options but a pretty boy and an elf this time.

So looking at the Orlesian ball concept art. I wonder if we can dance with Blackwall. I'm picturing him dreadfully uncomfortable in his doublet, informing the Inquisitor he can't dance. Inquisitor smiles and we more or less get Garrus in Citadel.

Slightly late to the party on Blackwall's slimmed down appearance, but to me, it's a matter of realism. Armor is worn over layers of padding - a quilted gambeson or something of that sort. A fully armored fighter should be a bit bulky looking because of the armor and padding add several inches. And a shield is HEAVY. Any warrior, but particularly one who uses a sword and shield, should have very well developed shoulders and upper arms (and chest, honestly), at least if you want me to believe they can hold that shield up through any fight longer than 15 seconds. I'm always a little disappointed in the body build of the female warriors because I imagine how much smaller they'd be without the armor and padding. Maybe that's why I like playing female dwarven warriors, they look the part. So I hope that's the art version of airbrushed Blackwall

Hm, I've been away for quite some time, hello again !

 

I saw the new artwork, it's very nice. But I'd like to remind everyone that it's still artwork. His beard looks bushier and he looks much slimmer. But just about every character in the DA series looks different than their artwork, so I say there's no cause for panic quite yet.

I've liked all versions of him and I have no worries.  Unless he is a complete and total butthead in game I'll be happy

I don't remember, what's the word about characters' models?

There will be no difference for PC. No matter if you play a mighty warrior or a pansy mage, they will have the same model (if noodle arms areincluded, I'm afraid to see how female warriors will look like).

But what about companions? Will they have the same racial body model or will they be unique?
