I remember that in the Enemy of Thedas trailer Solas was grabbing the Inquisitor's hand and seeming to show them how to use it.

So he's likely our first mage. Too bad he won't get much use in my parties in the first playthrough.

I remember that scene in the video as well.  I think he will probably be my mage in the first play through because I believe he will have a lot of interesting insight into what is going on and I want to know everything!

 

So I'm thinking my first play through will be Blackwall (DUH), Solas, Cassandra and myself as archer rogue girl! I might on occassion replace Cass with Varric or Dorian.

 

I've been wracking my brain trying to imagine a scenario that might bring us to meeting up with Blackwall but I can't come up with anything, unless it's when we go to investigate what the Wardens are up to and he is there.

As for Blackwall, possible he comes of his own choice? Given the concept art of him tearing off his gryphon amulet (ignoring the fact that concept art might have no meaning in game)

It's possible that something occured to turn him away from the Wardens and to the Inquisition. He is someone who believes in the Warden ideals vehemently.

I wonder of blackwall will mention any details on what he was doing during DAO, would be interesting to hear what he had to say about the orlesian wardens strategy at the time.

I bet he'll have lots of complaints about Loghain. Especially if Loghain did the dark ritual with Morrigan and is still alive.

Nice that we got a confirmation that AP is Blackwall. I quite like his voice, so I'm happy with that.

 

I think my first party will be Lady Cadash (Archer, which means I'll have to leave Varric behind on my first playthrough :c) Cole, Solas, and, of course, Blackwall.

Oh nice we finally got the voice actor. Is there a reason why they took so long to release his name? Also I like Alistair's voice so more points for Blackwall!!! Can't flippin' wait!

I like his voice too.  I can't wait to hear it some more though.  They were probably just trying to space out the announcements of voice actors.  They can't tell us everything in one shot or we would go mad before the game came out!

 

It's possible while visiting places in Fereldan that Blackwall could mention less damage would have been done had the Orleasian Wardens been allowed to come help.  I'm sure he has plenty of thoughts on that.

 

I'm going to try and get Blackwall in my party asap for maximum exposure to his beardliness.  Yes.

I am sorry if this has been answered previously, but does anyone know where Blackwall is from?
Considering his voice actor sounds British, I am guessing he is Fereldan. Would really like to know if I am wrong though as I like the idea of him being from the Anderfels.

Really pleased with his VA, his voice has the rough, gritty style I was hoping for. I think it'll fit Blackwall nicely.

I do actually rather like his voice, watching some samples. 

 

From the one Blackwall line we've heard, he seems to be making his voice a tiny bit deeper and gruffer, which should make it fit even nicer.

While he was stationed in Orlais, his ethnic origin is unknown for the moment. Sheryl Chee said we can ask him about it in the game. And about his real name.

Free Marchers have had American accents, traditionally. I'd vote Fereldan or Anderfellian (or whatever the word is for people from the Anderfels).

Isn't that mostly because we have really not met anyone who actually is told to be from Anderfels

People from Anderfels are called Anders. I don't think we meet someone from here but Woolsey (Awakening), and she didn't sound different from Fereldan. She is voiced by Natasha Little (Janeka from Legacy). I'm not sure if it is british or american accent.

But the Anders we know was Fereldan despite his name. At least he was in Fereldan circle

Ash Warrior? They had British accents in DAO...ok my Dwarven lady quizzy is really hoping for this...they were fantastic talking to Bianca Aeducan in Ostagar...sighs happily, but expects something completely different in DAI game.
