The Wardens in the Anderfels rule there and sit on the throne.  If you put Alistair on the throne then that makes two Warden Kings in Thedas.  Riordan mentions this if you speak with him in Arl Eamon's city estate. Amaranthine was an experiment for the Wardens and the First Warden does claim in the epilogue slides that your Arling is a success even if you burn Amaranthine, which at the time I thought was very interesting.  Yeah, I'd agree, seems to be a split of some kind.

The Wardens are the de facto rulers of the Anderfels, but not the titular ones. There is a king, but he's so taken up in his own affairs that the people look to the Wardens for leadership. (source: DA wiki)

I am sorry if this has been answered previously, but does anyone know where Blackwall is from?
Considering his voice actor sounds British, I am guessing he is Fereldan. Would really like to know if I am wrong though as I like the idea of him being from the Anderfels.

 

This accent seems pretty common in Thedas- Tevinter, Rivain, Free Marches, Fereldan, and Anderfels(limited sample) seem to have it from what we've heard so far.

He is really sexy, but I can't really imagine this as a default look for Blackwall. I do imagine Blackwall with less of a perfectly slicked hairdo after a hard battle though (or hard sex ), so at such a time breathing hard with hair sexily tousled like this would be pretty nice (and my female quizzie would be suitably distracted, no doubt).

@ Ceoldoren - nothing to forgive.  This thread is for all his fans, not just the ones planning to romance on the first playthrough.  I think most here frequent threads for more than one character.  Blackwall interests me most, but I definitely am going to roll a female Dalish with Solas on her mind as well.

 

OT - I wonder if the reason Blackwall left the wardens has to do with the red lyrium in Kirkwall's deep roads, or whether they're under the influence of an awakened darkspawn (ancient magister?) like the Architect or Corypheus (or even an Old God.)  Anders' maps were obtained right after the blight, and might have been much older, and Nathaniel (who favored releasing the Architect once he heard what he had intended) was in the deep roads with explosives for excavation.  I tend to think they were trying to feed warden blood to an Old God, since explosives wouldn't be safe to use around a lot of lyrium.  Dworkin's cousin would have known that since lyrium is one of the main ingredients, using explosives near a lyrium seam wouldn't be wise, but if he was as mad as Dworkin, that might not matter..  There is at least one town in Pennsylvania that is uninhabitable because fire spread to a coal seam under the town and most coal mines are lost to either explosion & fire or flooding.

Blackwall has to be my number one playthough, no compromise there, but I do plan to romance Solas down the track too, after Iron Bull.. and Dorian.. and possibly Cullen.. hmm no, before Cullen. God.. so much CHOICE

 

First I wasn't too keen on Solas because he reminded me of Phil Collins in that CG shot of him in the black robes.. I kept humming 'In the air tonight' (Cabury Gorilla ad) everytime I saw it.. haha.. but thank god that has changed with recent previews cos I really don't want to romance Phil Collins.

Even when I peek at the books ending to see how everything went I rather see the details how things get to how they get by reading through the book

I may change my mind mid game. But I'm gonna be a Female Elf, that way I have the most possible options.

My first run through looks like I will romance Blackwall, which is a great departure for me since I tend to like playing male characters romancing other male characters.  This is testament to how much I like Blackwall's character already.  I'm really most excited about him.  I think eventually I will romance Dorian to stay true to form but he's not really drawing me at the mo.  I'm sure I'll do a Cullen romance too.  Solas would have to win me over personality-wise (playing 2 females is really a stretch for me so this would be a 3rd time).
