I don't know character order yet, but I know the basic shape of who's romancing Blackwall. Turns out you can do more when you're not trying to have a character who can theoretically romance 2-3 different people. Blackwall, meet Lady Trevelyan.

I believe Blackwall defaults to sword and shield as does Cass. Iron Bull is the 2h warrior.

Also, if Cass is a templar and Iron Bull is a Reaver, that means Blackwall has to be a champion.
Hmm, Blackwall's a champion, quite fitting no?

Hey Wall-Climbers! Gah, the day is almost upon us. Or at least getting closer *glares at calendar*
What are some of y'all's Inquisitors? I see the CadashxBlackwall pairing is getting a lot of love (and we all know why). Personally, I think my Lavellan rogue is going to be the one I pair...but I might change my mind in-game! Blackwall is my favorite LI so far, but I think I'm going to save him for my second playthrough (so that I understand the game a bit more) and have Cullen for my first Inquisitor.
I seriously have a sticky note on my desktop with my planned Inquisitors x Possible LI pairings.
I'm hyped! But I'm glad I'm going on a trip soon so that I can stop obsessively watching the calendar and checking the newsfeeds.

Is there any small facts about Blackwall that aren't well known? If so, I'd appreciate being told abut them.

Beyond knowing that I'm playing a female human archer rogue that is going to romance Blackwall and that her name will be Selene I've planned nothing. I never plan my first play throughs. I never re-load my saves. I do it w/o guides. So it's a "live with your choices good or bad" play through. ![]()
I don't think we really know any super personal stuffs about any of the companions. It's mostly just general stuff for all of them. I think we're going to get a lot of surprises when we meet them all. I kinda like it. ![]()

The only one I can think of (and I think it is~ well known at this point) is that he's a dog person/likes dogs.

Edit: I just realized that I made an entire essay in response to a simple question. Bad habit
No, I love it! The personalities are the best. My mage Trevelyan (Saoirse) is going to be a scared-rebel-turned-badasss - all putting on a front at first but genuinely terrified of her new responsibilities, kind of lost in the world because of getting shunted off to the Chantry and "abandoned" as she sees it. I like the idea of her growing tougher and more confident, and with that learning how to be a Knight Enchanter and wielding a spirit blade in combat as sort of a metaphor for her new independence and drive. Love to see how she interacts with Cullen.
And then for Blackwall, the Lavellan (Carys) is going to be a sort of two-face - absolute fury and energy in battle and really passionate at times, and then you flip the switch and she's utterly stoic. More of the passion will come out as she settles into the role of Inquisitor, me thinks.
And I haven't planned out my male characters personalities! Just kind of broad strokes - a brutishly cheerful Qunari inspired by Rome's Titus Pullo for Dorian aaaaand a very serious, very devout Trevelyan for Cassandra - hopefully he learns to loosen up a bit.
I like to have the ideas of the characters nailed down before getting in game so that I can 'play them as authentically as possible.

I think I'm going to be like this with my playthroughs (Will probably stick to the default names because I like them):
1st. Female Human Rogue for Cullen. Devout Andrastian. Fair skin, dark hair, blue eyes with hints of gray or green.
2nd. Female Elven Mage for Solas. Rejects the all the Andraste stuff. Not sure on looks yet.
3rd. Female Dwarf Rogue for Blackwall. Might use all the attention to her benefit. Not sure on looks.
The next playthroughs are a bit of a jumble.
For Iron Bull: Female Qunari. Probably a mage. Not sure about looks or personality.
For Josephine: Male Dwarf. Not sure about looks or personality. Will be handsome for a dwarf, though.
For Cassandra: Male Human Warrior. Devout Andrastian. Not sure about looks.
For Dorian: Male Elf rogue or warrior. Not sure about personality, but will probably reject all the Andraste stuff as well, being a proud Dalish. Not sure about looks.

I haven't been following this game super closely like I did previous BW games, but the new main menu theme pretty made made me sacrifice eating for a solid week to afford DAI next month. Anyways, is Blackwall a champion or a templar? I heard Iron Bull is a reaver, so I'm curious as to what his spec is for party planning purposes.

He's almost certainly a Champion. Cassandra is a Templar, and Bull is a Reaver I believe.

Blackwall is a Champion.
In one of the videos we saw that Cassandra was a Templar(though apparently the uber secret "We don't need Lyrium" way the Seekers get it rather than normal Templar like Cullen).

Has the bolded been confirmed by devs, or is it just speculation? I recall the Cassandra thread not reaching a consensus. Really wish we had Shepard and Legion to break that tie.

Yes, in the sense that Cassandra's character description says that her seeker training "allows her to use templar talents without the risk of lyrium addiction." I was actually pretty miffed to read that, since I thought I read somewhere that seekers were recruited from among the best of the templars. IMO, it's just protecting her character from the "lyrium addict" label they've saddled Alistair and Cullen with. It's like the straight males can have a nice, juicy liability for people to pick on, but the females who are into guys are too perfect to be real. Other than being hot-tempered and very, um, direct, does she even have any flaws?
I hate to say it, but I'm jealous. Blackwall's eventually going to have to go on his calling, Cullen presumably uses lyrium, Solas spends tons of time in the fade and hasn't been harrowed (thus is theoretically at risk of possession more than most mages), and Iron Bull is a Qunari spy. I know I'm reading too much into it, but it feels like the trade-off for having the extra LIs (that straight women didn't ask for) was that their LIs were going to be targets of scorn. I'm really trying to stay positive and not ruin the anticipation by worrying about all the negativity ahead of time, but it's not easy sometimes. This is why people hate Leliana, Tallis, and Fiona.

That's both funny and sad.
But kind of awesome too. Glad she isn't an addict.
And now I know I'll spec Champ.. was on the fence on what fit her (since I plan a warrior as well.. but also want to run with her often).

You forgot Dorian who apparently is superawesome. ![]()
What fans know at this moment and assumptions they have for character's story arc can be very far from reality. Remember how even here we've heard too many times about Blackwall: "no way, he is too old, he is ugly, his calling is 5 minutes after you meet him"?
I will be extremely surprised and disappointed sorrowfully if Bull talks about sex only, Vivienne looks at her mirror 24/7 and all Solas wants is 10 elven babies. In a month we'll find out. ![]()
There is no win in depicting character's flaws.
1) Character has flaws.
Reaction: This characters sucks! He/she makes mistakes! Burn him/her with fire!
2) Character has no flaws.
Reaction: Mary Sue! Burn him/her with fire!
It's hard to find a balance.
I also hope that "Seekers don't need lyrium to use Templar's abilities" will be addressed in the game. My pro-templar characters will have some questions to the Chantry. ![]()
